Oliver stood frozen in a beautiful light blue forest. In front of him was a tiger the size of a boulder. While its eyes seemed to hold no ill will, Oliver's whole body tensed with every one of its movements. He kept staring at it, both confused about the whole situation, when suddenly it pounced towards him. Oliver stumbled backward, narrowly avoiding the tiger's advances.
The tiger growled softly, and Oliver began to run through the forest. The scents of lavender with an arctic twist filled his nose as he passed trees and falling leaves. The soft touch of wind on his face and the pounding of his heart that threatened to leave his chest only added to the intensity. Yet, a smile never left his face as he ran for his life.
The reason? He was having fun. He was enjoying the unreal large trees and light blue leaves. He was enjoying the massive tiger right behind him with its jaws open.
Huh? Jaws open?
Oliver suddenly screamed and quickly accelerated his speed to his absolute max. As he was running, he noticed a small branch a little higher than him. It was a few seconds in front of him, a small amount of time, but enough to make a plan.
Just as he reached the branch, he lifted his arms and grabbed onto it. His speed helped generate enough force for his body to do a half-circle, where Oliver found himself now atop the branch. Before the tiger could even react, he suddenly jumped off the branch to a higher one, a process he repeated until he was out of harm's way. As Oliver was panting, he finally had enough time to fully think about the situation he was now in.
"Huff! Huff! Where the hell am I!? Large trees with light blue leaves, a tiger the size of a boulder, and even the strange smells. None of it makes any sense. Well, to be fair, none of my situation really makes sense."
Oliver sat on the branch and stared at the blue sky, wondering what he needed to do. Just then, he noticed two small moons in the sky. His mouth twitched, and a horrifying thought plagued his mind.
"I'm not in another world, right? T-that can't be possible, ha, haha, right?"
As he stared at the sky in resignation, his mind was suddenly assaulted by a barrage of information. It was then he finally understood a little about the situation he found himself in. At the moment, he was on the planet Glamour, a beautiful planet with mesmerizing scenery. However, it was on its last breaths. He was brought here in a distortion, and his goal was to eliminate one of the cancers on the planet, the Jinki. A parasitic entity that swallows its target's being, slowly taking control of its nervous system and mind.
Oliver let out a sigh, wondering if he would ever get to go home. He quickly found a positive in this shitty situation; he didn't need to kill the entire species. He only needed to kill 100 of them. Of course, he still knew this wasn't going to be easy.
Oliver stared at the forest below him. It was empty and deserted. Hell, the only animal he had seen was the large tiger. He sighed once more and wondered how he was supposed to do this.
As Oliver was planning his own method of killing the Jinki, thousands of eyes were staring at his location from the trees. They all had different colors, from vibrant green to dark blue. However, they all had a single thing in common. They all had a small semi-circle above their pupils, each one a vibrant crimson red. Oliver might not know it yet; however, the world is bigger than he could possibly imagine.
Oliver sat in his tree, stalking the tiger, believing that it must be a Jinki, unaware of the army stalking him. He stayed in the trees until dusk, when he finally believed he should make his move. He didn't have any realistic way of killing the tiger, so he went with a simple and straightforward plan. He planned on jumping onto its body from the trees. If that didn't kill it, then he would try and twist its neck. Of course, the plan itself was risky and unrealistic. However, he had no better alternative.
The tiger was finally below him, and he had gathered enough courage to put his plan into motion. Slowly, he was about to leap off the branch when a hand suddenly placed itself on his mouth. Just as he was about to remove it, multiple objects penetrated his arms and legs. As his vision slowly darkened, he looked down and noticed arrows sticking out of his body. When he tried to find the group responsible, his adrenaline ran out, and he succumbed to the darkness.
Oliver was swiftly carried away from the tiger and deeper into the forest. The group carrying him had pale skin, beautiful appearances, pointed ears, and small red semicircles above their pupils. After constantly moving through the forest, they finally arrived at a village of multiple wooden huts and houses. They hadn't spoken nor shown any emotion on their faces. Instead, their movements were systematic and scripted. They placed Oliver's wounded body in one of the many huts and shoved a murky black liquid down his throat. His body suddenly shook violently, aggravating his wounds even further. Slowly, a small raised part of his skin moved and crawled around his body, heading straight for his brain. Oliver had no idea about the urgent situation he was in, as it was already too late. The Jinki had already taken root in his body, and Oliver had no means to get rid of a parasitic enemy. His body had become forfeit to the entity, and his saga had ended. As his body continued to shake, Oliver suddenly opened his eyes and used his hands to crush his neck. The worm-like thing under his skin stopped its advance and simply waited as Oliver's face turned paler and paler.
