Chapter 7 - Zijinshan Villa

Generally speaking, for a house of about 80 square meters, like the one Zhang Yan saw before, the agent can earn a commission of at most a small thousand.

However, if Zhang Yan decides to buy a better house, the bonus could rise to tens of thousands.

Because of this, Zhang Yan became an important client to the male agent. His attitude toward Zhang Yan grew even more respectful than before.

This intermediary company was one of the largest in Haicheng. Although their intermediary fees were higher, they were considered more reliable and had access to a wide variety of properties, including villas worth tens of millions.

When Zhang Yan and the male agent arrived at the VIP reception room, Zhang Yan directly asked to see the best houses listed by their company. High-end villas were not excluded from his request.

Seeing Zhang Yan's apparent wealth, the male agent didn't dare to neglect him. He quickly brought over six property portfolios for Zhang Yan to review.

It must be said that this intermediary company was indeed reliable. Each of the six properties was a premium listing.

The smallest among them was a spacious flat of more than 200 square meters located on Haicheng's most bustling street. Downstairs, there was a commercial street, making it incredibly convenient.

The remaining properties were all villas, each priced in the tens of millions.

In the end, Zhang Yan chose a villa.

This villa was located halfway up Zijin Mountain, boasting three floors with a total of 700 square meters. It featured lush front and back gardens and even included a swimming pool in the yard.

Zijin Mountain was renowned as Haicheng's top residential area. Only ten villas had been built there in total, and only Haicheng's wealthy and elite were qualified to live there.

The entire Zijin Mountain resembled a forest park, a testament to how pristine its environment was.

Naturally, the villa wasn't cheap. It was priced at 120 million, making it the most expensive house listed with the agency.

The opportunity to buy this villa arose only because a wealthy owner had gone bankrupt and was forced to sell. Otherwise, such a property would never have been available for purchase.

Zhang Yan looked at the villa's information and photographs and made an immediate decision. This was it!

The male agent, seeing Zhang Yan choose the most expensive house, was overjoyed. Although he had mentally prepared himself for this possibility, his hands still shook with excitement.

Of course, he couldn't help but wonder if Zhang Yan was simply joking. But what if it was true?

If this villa were sold, the agent's commission alone would exceed 200,000!

The male agent quickly asked Zhang Yan to wait for a while, as he needed to consult his supervisor to obtain the key and the entry-exit clearance proof for the Zijin Mountain villa area.

Due to the villa's high price, the process took about ten minutes, during which Zhang Yan patiently waited.

Eventually, the male agent returned, accompanied by a beautiful manager from their agency who appeared to be less than 30 years old. They informed Zhang Yan that they would visit Zijin Mountain's Villa No. 8 together so they could provide him with a thorough introduction to the property.

Zhang Yan had no objection to this.

Since Zhang Yan didn't own a car, the three of them headed to Zijin Mountain in the beautiful manager's Audi A4.

This made Zhang Yan feel a bit embarrassed. Here he was about to buy a villa worth more than 100 million yuan, yet he didn't even have his own car. Who would believe such a scenario?

At present, Zhang Yan still had 20 million yuan in his bank account. He decided it was time to consider buying a car.

Zijin Mountain wasn't far from Haicheng's city center. In just half an hour, the three arrived at the villa.

Zhang Yan was then taken on a thorough tour of the villa, and he was very satisfied with what he saw.

Although the villa was considered second-hand, it came fully furnished. Moreover, it showed no signs of having been lived in, making it move-in ready.

The interior design was modern, perfectly matching the aesthetic preferences of young people.

The villa also boasted a spa, a home theater, a gym, a study, and three additional vacant rooms. Zhang Yan imagined converting one of these into an e-sports room for his enjoyment.

Overall, Zhang Yan was thoroughly impressed with the villa and made the final decision—he would sign the contract!

Seeing that Zhang Yan was serious, the male agent and the beautiful manager were ecstatic. They treated Zhang Yan with the utmost reverence, as if they were attending to a deity.

The villa's transfer process required formalities, and the paperwork would take at least a week to finalize.

For now, Zhang Yan couldn't move into the villa, but the wait wouldn't be too long.

When paying the deposit, Zhang Yan utilized the one-yuan house purchase coupon. From that moment on, all expenses related to purchasing the house would be covered by the system. Both the seller and the intermediary would receive payments directly from it.

Holding the contract in his hands, Zhang Yan left the agency and took a taxi back home to start packing his belongings.

Meanwhile, in another part of town, at Li Chuchu's house…

"This is outrageous!" Sun Min, Li Chuchu's mother, slammed her hand on the table, her face livid with anger.

On the sofa opposite her, Li Chuchu was sobbing uncontrollably, unable to stop crying.

"Did that boy Zhang Yan really say that?" Sun Min demanded, her face streaked with makeup that had smudged in her fury.

Li Chuchu nodded tearfully and said, "Yes… After he found out, he said he wanted to break up with me. He also demanded that I return all the money he spent on me, or he would sue me…"

Sun Min's face grew even darker. She clenched her fists, her voice brimming with fury. "How dare he! After everything you've done for him, he's threatening to sue you? Who does he think he is?"

Li Chuchu, still choking back sobs, said, "Mom, I didn't think he'd react like this… I thought he'd forgive me if I explained everything…"

Sun Min snorted coldly, pacing the room. "Forgive you? Men like him are all the same. The moment they think they're better than you, their true colors show. But I won't let him get away with this! He can't just humiliate you like this."

Li Chuchu hesitated for a moment before quietly saying, "But Mom, Zhang Yan… he's changed. He's not the same person anymore. He's acting so confident, like he's a completely different person. I barely recognize him."

Sun Min paused, narrowing her eyes. "Different, you say? Hah! He's probably putting on a facade. Maybe he got lucky with some small deal and thinks he's suddenly important."

"But what if he really has money now?" Li Chuchu asked timidly. "He's so sure of himself, and… he's even threatening legal action."

Sun Min's lips curled in disdain. "Let him! If he wants a legal battle, we'll give him one. You've been with him for years—supporting him financially, emotionally, in every way. We'll expose everything. He won't get away unscathed."

"But Mom…"

"No buts, Chuchu. Call him. Tell him we need to talk face-to-face. If he refuses, I'll go to his workplace and cause a scene he won't forget."

Li Chuchu nodded reluctantly. Deep down, she felt uneasy about confronting Zhang Yan, but under her mother's relentless pressure, she had no choice but to comply.

As Sun Min continued ranting about her plans, Li Chuchu couldn't shake the sinking feeling in her heart.

Meanwhile, Zhang Yan, unaware of the brewing storm, was busy packing his belongings. His mind was consumed by thoughts of his new life—a life that, for the first time in years, felt truly free.
