As I came out of the exam hall, I saw Priscoll waiting for me. He smiled and asked,
"How did the exam go?" But I couldn't talk. He repeated the question, and I smiled, saying,
"Well, I gave it my best shot, but I'm not going to tell you until the results are out."
Priscoll chuckled.
"That's my baby! Okay, okay, let's go eat breakfast. What do you want to eat? I'll treat you, just tell me anything you want." He smiled at me
I reminded him that the results weren't out yet, and he replied.
"It's none of my business. What I know is that you applied to three schools to write the exam. If you pass any of them, then you're going to attend. So, I don't have to think too hard about it. But promise me that you'll pass one of the schools."
"I promise, I promise I'm going to pass one of the schools. It's not for you, it's for myself to fulfill my dream and make it come true. I've dreamed of becoming a flight attendant and imagine how I'll be in the plane wearing their uniform. Oh God, I'm excited! Can't wait for the day to come."
Priscoll snapped me out of my daydream.
"Wake up from your daydream. We should hurry and get to the car; I have somewhere to go after we eat."
When we got to the car, Priscoll received a call from his celebrity girlfriend, Wendy. I hated her so much. She told him that she was waiting for him at a restaurant, but Priscoll told her that he didn't have much time and needed to spend more time with his wife.
Wendy complained.
"Priscoll, why are you doing this to me? You know that I miss you so much. Is Joanna more important than me? I thought you said that you didn't love her, that you loved me so much more."
Priscoll reassured her.
"Yes, I love you, I love you so much. Just wait for me, I'm coming. Please, please wait for me. I'll be there in a sec, okay? I love you, bye."
I felt jealous after hearing Priscoll's words to Wendy. He then told me to get off the car and take a taxi home, saying he had something to attend to. But I refused, saying,
"I'm not getting off this car. I'm not taking a cab home. You must take me home."
Priscoll asked if I was disobeying his orders and being stubborn. I told him to forget about treating me and that I was leaving. He asked if I was jealous, reminding me that our marriage wasn't based on love and that we had agreed on that.
I got off the car, and Priscoll drove off after smiling at me. I was walking under the sun when a car stopped for me. Two guys, identical twins, came out of the car. One of them said,
"Hey baby, I saw you in the exam hall. Did you make it?" I shook my head, and he said, "So sorry about that. We didn't make it either. We applied for another school exam."
I tried to leave, but one of them, wearing a cap, dragged me back, saying,
"Hey, don't leave like that. I like you." The other twin nodded in agreement.
The twin who dragged me back smiled charmingly and introduced himself as Ben while his brother was jude. They took me to the cafe to eat breakfast with them, i agreed, i don't know if what i was doing was wrong.
After eating breakfast with Jude and Ben in the cafe, I felt a sense of joy and freedom that I hadn't experienced in a long time. We laughed and joked, and I found myself feeling drawn to their warm and caring nature.
As we finished our meal, Ben asked me if I wanted to join them for a study session, And i agreed while we exchange numbers. They offered me a ride home I accepted, feeling a bit uneasy but also curious about these identical twins.
As we drove, they asked me about myself, and I found myself opening up to them. They were easy to talk to, and I enjoyed their company
When we arrived at my place, Priscoll was waiting outside, looking annoyed. "Joanna, where have you been? I've been waiting for you," he said, eyeing the twins.
I introduced them, and Priscoll's expression turned cold.
"Thanks for dropping her off, guys. I'll take it from here," he said dismissively.
jude and Ben exchanged a look, but smiled and said, "No problem, man. We'll catch you later, Joanna."
As they drove off, Priscoll turned to me and asked,
''What was that all about?" he asked angrily
I shrugged, feeling a bit defensive.
"They're just friends I met at the exam center. We're studying together for the next exam."
Priscoll raised an eyebrow.
"Be careful around them, Joanna. I don't trust them."
I rolled my eyes.
"Priscoll, don't be paranoid. They're just friends."
"Friends you said" he sneered
But Priscoll's expression remained skeptical, and I wondered what he was hiding.
Over the next few days, I studied with jude and Ben, and we grew closer. They were kind, supportive, and made me feel like I belonged.
Meanwhile, Priscoll was distant and cold, always busy with work or his celebrity girlfriend, Wendy. I felt like I was living with a stranger, and our marriage was just a sham.
Jude and Ben invited me to join them for a party, and I accepted, feeling like I needed a break from Priscoll's negativity. At the party, I had a blast, laughing and dancing with the twins.
But when Priscoll found out, he was furious.
"Joanna, you're my wife. You can't just go around partying with other men," he shouted.
I stood my ground, feeling angry and hurt.
"Priscoll, our marriage is a joke. You're never here for me, and when you are, you're cold and distant. I deserve better than this."
Priscoll's expression turned ugly, and for a moment, I thought he would hit me. But then, he stormed out of the house, leaving me shaken and wondering what I had gotten myself into.
