Priscoll woke up to the sound of his alarm blaring in his ear. He rubbed the sleep off his eyes and reached for his phone to check the time. As he sat up in bed, his phone rang, shrill in the morning silence. He groaned inwardly, recognizing that it was the manager.
"Good morning, Priscoll," the manager said, his voice firm but laced with a hint of concern. "We need to talk about the company's performance. Our profits are plummeting, and we're not meeting our targets."
