Chapter Four
Lionel's POV
My driver stopped as soon as we reached the front of the club. My bodyguard stepped out from the front seat and opened the back door where I was sitting. I hopped out of the car, adjusted my suit, and entered the club.
As I entered, I was welcomed by the loud bass of the music and bright colorful lights. I walked beside the dance floor and ascended the stairs to the VIP section at my regular spot. I was greeted by my best friend, Rio. I sat on the red couch and snapped my fingers, signaling to the bartender. It was a beautiful lady; she seemed new. It was my first time seeing her.
"Good evening, sir. What do you want?" she said with a smile.
"Get me my favorite wine. Oh, sorry, you seem new. Get me the Grenine 1998," I said.
"Okay, sir. Give me a sec," she said and walked away to get the wine. In a few minutes, she brought the wine on a tray and served it in a V-shaped champagne glass. She walked away after serving the drink, and I watched as she settled back at her post. There was just something about her—so beautiful and calm.
"Guy, focus," Rio said.
"Sorry about that," I said, bringing myself back.
"Do you like her?" Rio inquired.
"What? Come on, someone I'm just seeing for the first time," I said.
Rio shrugged and said, "Okay, so what's the plan for tonight? Are the ladies coming?"
"Yes, they are. They should be here any minute," I said and took a sip of the champagne. While waiting for the ladies, I was sipping the wine, but I wasn't really feeling it. It seemed I had taken it too much.
I stood up from my seat and walked to the bar to get my favorite mix. I drink that once in a while when I feel tired of the wine.
"Hey, what's up, girl? Give me my favorite mix," I said to her, forgetting she wasn't the regular bartender.
"Sorry, I'm new here," she said.
"Oh, sorry about that. I forgot. I thought it was Lucia," I apologized genuinely. "Do you know how to mix?"
"Yes, I can," she answered.
"Okay, give me your best," I said, and I watched as she mixed different drinks together.
"This is it," she said as she handed it over to me. I was curious about what she made, and I took a sip. It tasted like heaven; it was the best I had ever taken.
Larissa's POV
"Who taught you how to make this?" the handsome young man asked. I didn't know what to say to him. I learned how to mix drinks from Ramon. The one I made for him was Ramon's favorite, and I was the only one who knew how to mix it.
"I learned it from where I was working before," I replied.
"Wow, where's that? Is it a club here in Madrid? Believe me, I've been to all the clubs in Madrid, and no place beats this place," he queried curiously.
"I doubt that. Maybe the expensive ones. Sometimes we that are not rich like you guys, out of survival, come up with things that are less expensive but give quality taste," I said to him.
"Wow, really? That means you still have more magic to perform. My mom's birthday is next week. I want you to make things like this for us. Anyway, what's your name?"
"I'm Larissa. What about you?"
"I'm Lionel Ramos," he answered with pride in his voice.
"Lionel Ramos?" I inquired, my voice laced with stupefaction.
"Si," he answered as he took another gulp of the mix I made for him.
I still couldn't come out of it. I had been talking to one of the richest billionaires and was just offered a job at his mother's birthday party.
"About the job at your mom's birthday party, how much are you willing to pay?" I asked, trying to hide my stupefaction.
"I will give you five thousand," he said, looking at me with flirty eyes.
"Make it ten," I said with boldness, even though the five thousand was a good pay.
"Ten? How much is your salary here?"
"That's how much I am charging for the service. If you can't pay it, come back when you have the money," I said.
"God, really? I'm Lionel Ramos. I can buy this place by just snapping my fingers," he said as he snapped his fingers.
"Are you paying or not?" I inquired, hoping he would say yes to the offer.
"I will, but not ten. I will give you twelve. I really respect your confidence. Most ladies would have melted the moment they knew who I was, but your comportment is one of a kind. To be sincere, I like you, and I want you to be mine."
I burst into laughter, even though I was in stupefaction with my heart beating faster. "Wow, it's just funny the way you billionaires fall in love. I gave you a drink, and kaboom, you fell in love. Isn't that crazy?"
"No, no, no. It wasn't the drink. The moment I sighted you, I realized one thing: God gave me everything in this world but forgot one."
"And what was that?"
"You. He didn't give me Larissa."
Blush skittered all over my face. I couldn't hold it. "It's a nice pick-up line, but I don't like pick-ups. So let's go back to the twelve thousand. When is the ceremony?" I said, trying to change the topic.
He brought out his business card and gave it to me. "Call me when you're done. I need to leave now. We will talk more about the party."
He left with a smile, and I watched him as he exited. He was very handsome. He's a paragon, what every girl would pray for. I just hope he was serious about his statement. He seemed to sound like a flirt, but I hope he's not one of those billionaires who likes to take advantage of poor girls.
