As Benjamin approached the scene, his eyes widened in disbelief. Tommy, his kitten, was being hugged by a black young man.
Benjamin's face twisted in disgust, his fists clenched in anger. 'What is he, a teddy bear or something?!' he thought to himself, his mind racing with confusion and offense.
How could Tommy be so vulnerable, so weak?
The three older white men backed off, seemingly intimidated by the black young man's threat. "You want me to call my crew? You wanna see some real deal black youth come at y'all like a storm? Huh?!" he yelled, his eyes flashing with defiance.
Benjamin watched as the white men retreated, their tails between their legs. Cowards!
Oh, Benji was damn offended. Was he offended that the white men didn't stand their ground and beat Tommy and his new boyfriend to a pulp? No! Maybe!
