Chapter 18 - Class 1 - Combat Strategy

Instructor Stein nodded her head in approval. "Does anyone else have anything to add to her answer?"

Another student raised their hand, a boy this time. "It can take various forms, like armed combat and unarmed combat."

"Correct. Those were all good answers. Combat is more than just exchanging a few blows or kicking someone's ass." She jokingly said.

The class erupted in laughter. They didm't expect her the swear like that.

" Strategy is an important component of combat. It allows you to make smart and calculated decisions in order to get the best outcome."

"In this class, we'll explore various strategic methods for combat. While some sessions will focus on theory, we'll also engage in virtual fight simulations and practical exercises. You can find the class outline and important deadlines on the class portal accessible through your virtual watches. Take time to review them, and feel free to ask any questions."

One student raised his hand, and the instructor nodded for him to speak. "How will we be graded in this class?" he asked, echoing the curiosity of his peers.

Instructor Stein smiled knowingly. "That's a common question among new students. It's quite straightforward. You'll earn points based on assignments, which will be tallied monthly. To remain in good standing, aim for at least 70 points."

Just as she was about to proceed with introductions, there was a knock on the door.

Instructor Leila frowned, but fished out a remote in her coat pocket as she aimed at the door. The door in question was transparent, and upon pressing the unlock button, it reflected whoever stood behind it.

All twenty five students turned their attention towards the door. There, a beautiful girl with long, wavy pink hair reaching down to her tailbone and ocean blue eyes stood.

The door finally opened, and she entered the classroom with graceful steps.

Instructor Leela asked, "Can I help you?"

"I am so sorry for disturbing you, but I was just transferred to this class. My name is Sage Kingsley," she said politely.

Her voice was sultry and smooth, pleasant to the ears. All the boys in the room couldn't help but gaze at her, completely mesmerized.

Instructor Leila checked her virtual Watch and saw that she had received a message from the registration office that a new student would be transferred to the class. She then nodded her head gesturing to the young girl to find a seat.

Sage walked past the first row of students as she chose a seat near the end of the second row. As she took her seat, she glanced around the classroom. Her eyes briefly fixed on Kenneth, lingering for a few seconds before she looked away.

"Now class, let's start with introductions!"

Going through each row, the students had to give a brief introduction by stating their name and their favourite method of fighting. One by one each student stood up and introduced themselves as the others listened. The instructor would sometimes ask them a few questions and would then move on. When it was Sage's turn, all eyes were glued on her as she stood up, gently rubbing the non existent creases on her skirt.

"My name is Sage Kingsley and my preferred method of fighting is swordsmanship"

"I see. And are you self thought or do you have a master?" Instructor Leela asked.

"I have a master who's been teaching me since I was a child." She said with a smile.

Instructor Leela nodded her head with a smile on her face before turning her attention to the next student.

Finally it was Kenneth's turn. "My name is Kenneth Greywater and my preferred method of fighting is with arms."

Instructor Leela raised her brows in surprise. "Arms as in firearms?"

"Hand guns, riffles, things of that nature."

Whispers and exclamations could be heard in the classroom. The only ones who weren't surprised were the ones who had PTC with Kenneth and saw the way she fought with weapons.

"Wow that's incredible. Not many people fight with arms these days. Good for you Ms Greywater." She said while giving her a bright smile.

Since Kenneth was the last person to give their introductions, instructor Leela started their first lesson. Fire and maneuver.

While listening to the lesson, Kenneth couldn't help but think back to what instructor Leela had said. People didn't fight with firearms these days implying that there was a period of time where it was common.

Since coming to this world, Kenneth couldn't tell if she was living in the future or if this was a false reality that she had gotten herself into. But something told her that this wasn't the case.

There was a chance that this world—Eternis could be the future. It was the year 3100 when she died this was something Kenneth couldn't forget but they were currently in the year 3155 so only a 55 years had gone by.

Could earth have changed that much in such a short period? It's not like she could ask someone "hey are we in the future right?"

They would look at her as if she was crazy. There's no way she could do that.

She'd have to do her own research later. It's not like she was in a hurry to go back home.

Kenneth was dead in her old world, there'd be nothing to come back to. But she still wanted to know what had happened between the time of her death and now if this reality truly was real.
