Chapter 18 - Encountering a Demon

The white thick scales appeared in the form of long strips covering the stomach, thick and heavy while at the same time giving a great sense of peace of mind.

Looking at his body which had become much larger after evolution, Sethe's gaze revealed a color of satisfaction.

He stretched out his claws and clawed on his stomach, his sharp claws rubbing against the white thick scales directly rubbing out sparks.

But it was just sparks, not even a claw mark was left on it.

 This thickness ...

Now there was no need to worry about being scratched in the stomach by the hunting object.

 Sethe gaze revealed pleasure.

 [Gu~]

His stomach growled at this inopportune moment.

 He was hungry.

 If you're hungry then eat.

Climbing out of the treehouse, he removed the last piece of smoked bear meat from the smoked meat shack.

All of a sudden there were only a few smoked fish left to continue hanging above.

We're almost out of food reserves.

Sethe looked at the several smoked fish hanging, the fish was very small, just the size of a palm.

As he evolved his appetite was also getting bigger, now just the small fishes and shrimps inside the river could not satisfy his basic needs anymore.

So he had to go hunting himself.

Let's go into the forest and have a look when we finish eating, and test his fighting ability in the meantime.

 Ah~

Opening his mouth, the smoked meat cupped in his paw was stuffed directly into his mouth.

 Em, chewing and chewing~

The flavor is as usual with a smoky aroma, much better than normal meat.

Sethe finished the smoked meat in three or two bites.

He stood upright from the ground, his paw touched his big belly, and he was only five points full.

Sethe walked out of the smoker's shed and into the stream in front of the door to put the catch trap away for a bit.

There were only three small fish and a few shrimp in it.

The catch trap was getting low.

Looking at the harvest inside the catch trap, a flash of gratitude rose in Sethe's heart.

It was right not to make more catch traps.

Because even if they were made, it would just be a waste of time, and the small fish in the creek had become significantly less.

Perhaps soon the catch traps would only be able to catch some small shrimps.

It was true that going into the forest to hunt was necessary!

Taking the catch trap, he walked up the bank and dumped it on the ground.

Three small fish and four small shrimp were dumped on the ground and began to bounce.

Sethe crouched down, grabbed four small shrimps, and stuffed them directly into his mouth.

Well, it was just a taste.

Soon three small fish were also gutted and thrown in.

Sethe stood upright and clawed at his stomach, five points full.

Glancing at the catch trap on the ground, Sethe thought better of it and fished it out. Instead of heading for the stream, though, he put the catch trap outside the bacon shed and hung it.

There weren't many small fish left in the stream, so he'd wait until after a couple of months.

He hung the catch traps on the wooden posts of the bacon shed and Sethe turned to look out into the forest.

It was a clear day with blue skies.

The sun didn't manage to shine into the forest floor, but it did make the dense forest seem less morose.

Alright, time to go find prey.

Sethe took a step towards the depths of the forest.

After walking for a while, there was no prey worth hunting.

On the contrary, there were quite a few animals in the trees, but they were all just little guys, not worth hunting, well, definitely not because of the problem of not being able to climb trees and possibly not being able to catch up.

 "Pah~"

 Ouch ouch ouch~!

A kernel fell to the ground.

Sethe stopped and looked up above the tree trunk.

On the trunk, a monkey was grimacing and bouncing from side to side with a look of indebtedness, as if celebrating its hit.

Nasty monkey, when one day I can fly, I will kill you stinky monkey to make a spicy roasted whole monkey!

There wasn't just one monkey on the tree, but only one monkey was jumping around, a one-eyed throat, his left eye looked as if it had been scratched blind by some fierce beast, and his face had a horrible scar.

Silently memorizing the features of this monkey, Sethe directly turned around and left.

 [Rustle~]

 Rubbing sound?

Sethe's paw lurched, then eased his footsteps.

The sound of movement didn't sound small, it seemed to be a big guy.

Sethe suppresses his excitement and slowly approaches.

The ground was covered with dry leaves, so he could only slow his pace to a crawl.

Too much movement might scare away the big guy in front of him.

After moving around for a while, Sethe finally moved under a large tree.

Poking his head out from the trunk of the large tree.

In front of her, less than twenty meters away, a black-skinned large mountain pig with an unusually robust-looking body, estimated to be around four meters long, was arching at something.

The big mountain pig's body was too big for Sethe to see what he was arching.

Looking at the size of the big mountain pig.

This size is a bit big, is hunting this big guy too risky for him now?

 Sethe was hesitant.

Suddenly the big mountain pig stopped moving.

A touch of bad feeling rose in Sethe's heart.

In the next second, the big mountain pig turned around.

The entire pig's head was covered with blood, its tusks were also dyed red with blood, and its pair of scarlet eyes made the already terrifying pig look even more hideous.

Sethe saw clearly what the big mountain pig was just arching, it was also a wild boar, but this wild boar only had half of its body left, and the other parts had been eaten.

Looking at the big mountain pig's pair of red eyes Sethe was instantly dazed.

At this moment he kind of understood why this big mountain pig was abnormally large.

 Magic creature!

What Cecilia had told him, in addition to magical beasts and wild beasts there could also be magical creatures in the forest.

Demonic creatures were the product of the infestation of the abyssal aura that leaked out of the underground palace.

They were berserk, bloodthirsty, with only killing in their eyes, and were pests without intelligence.

And this one big mountain pig fit every characteristic Cecilia said.

There was only berserkness and bloodlust in that pair of scarlet eyes.

 [Kirik!]

The black iron hooves of the pig plowed on the ground.

This guy is going to attack!

Realizing this, Sethe landed on the ground with all four paws, and his gaze was locked onto the demonic Great Mountain Pig as his body made a storing movement.

 Directly escape?

Not to mention the point of whether or not he could outrun this big guy, there was also the fact that he didn't want to run at all.

Because he did feel a sense of oppression on this Great Mountain Pig's body, but this sense of oppression only came from his size.

It was completely unlike the feeling he felt the last time he encountered that one big cat.

When he encountered that big cat, he was unable to generate any fighting thoughts in his mind.

And this big mountain pig was far from that feeling!

It was just the right time to try out his fighting ability!

The minimum strength of a demonic creature was low rank.

This big mountain pig is so big, it should have a middle rank.

Just in time, to try its strength!

Seriously Sethe himself didn't even notice the color of excitement revealed in his gaze.

 [Kirik!]

The Great Mountain Pig no longer used its hooves to plow the ground but directly launched a charge.

Its huge body made it look like a mountain of meat charging, and its speed was so fast that it rushed in front of Sethe in almost an instant.

Two sharp fangs arched toward Sethe.

The fangs flashed with a cold aura, and their piercing degree was certainly unquestionable.
