"Dip n' hit, Dip n' hit, ladadadidoo... Dip n' hit, Dip n' hit that is what we dooo..."
"KRRAAAAGHHH!!"
"I'll get to you in a minuteee!! There's enough for everybody!!"
A needle whizzed in the wind and clung onto his lap. Ash took a small sip of the yellow liquid held between his lips, immediately alleviating the numbing effect that the needle had begun to afflict him with. He dipped his club into the colorful liquid and bashed it against another goblin soldier, crashing him against a piling heap of prior victims. Ash locked eyes with the last group, a bunch of scrawny-figured archers, pipes armed with the poison needles.
(As long as he has that mysterious liquid in his mouth, we can't do anything to him.)
(And not even to talk about the other one who hasn't moved...)
(!)
The goblin had a realization. Spreading his moth in a wide grin, he pulled the rest into a small circle and remained like so for quite some time. Ash was running out of patience and decided to move towards his prey.
{A small amount of corrupt energy...]
"!"
Allow me...
"Wait...!"
"Hmm...?"
(Now!)
From the group of seven, seven shots landed, and the results were instantaneously devastating. Ash gnashed his teeth in pain, forgetting of the vial that he had between his lips. Blood trickled from his mouth as he collapsed on the floor, falling right beside the small golden puddle that his shattered vial was leaking out.
The experience was straight from a nightmare. It felt as if his body was not his own, he involuntarily jerked about, the rapid violent movements eating away at his interior. The sudden wave of pain engulfed him and soon thereafter passed out. His untrained body and mind could not have withstood torture of such degrees.
"He couldn't even realize that you were helping him and got carried away in the moment."
...
Park's body got up on its feet, just one movement enough to ring the goblins' instincts to defeaning levels.
(Run!)
"Nope."
Park stretched out his hand, a rush of earth and metal holding the group in place.
!
I... I can do that?
"Tsk."
(You think this is enough?)
(Actually no, just wanted to.)
(A human speaks our language? Preposterous!)
(I'm not human really...)
Mixed chunks of rock and metal flew all over the place, all driven into walls, even those that rushed towards Park and his friend, Ash.
(... but sure, why not.)
The archers shot out more of those special needles as they fled but once more, an obstacle was in their way. A wall that connected to the ceiling, it had rough, jagged juts here and there.
"You see, I want us to play a simple game, and I give you assured freedom, whether you win or lose..."
The archers, like cornered rats, bit back. A flurry of projectiles sailed towards Park. He stretched his arms out wide, welcoming the animosity.
"... aaand start."
The prickly needles landed in quick succession one after the other, their death throes.
{The skill, Interrupt is actively consuming the familiar energy and rising in status]
{A new chapter is being formed]
"Keep them coming, boys."
(HE IS A MONSTER! A MONSTER!)
(If only we had borrowed a bit more...)
"More?"
(Shit! I forgot he can understand us!)
"Well now I have to know who's this giving."
With one flick of his finger, one of the archers was right before Park. The poor soldier couldn't even move, the brown embrace holding him firmly in place.
"I know how this will go, but I have to ask nevertheless, maybe you might not be that stupid..."
"Khaa! Ptoo!"
The thick, warm, green fluid descended down his face. A brazen answer it was to its predator. It cackled at Park as if mocking him, but little did it know that the predator was only being merciful to it. He wiped the stain off his face and advanced towards the creature, and with one palm to its forehead...
"I take that as your answer then."
...the extraction began.
"KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEKK...!!"
(Hush child, we're just beginning.)
The rest of the members watched in abject terror as one of their own, couldn't scream, just pop veins and leak blood from its orifices. The archer in question wished that he would give up his spirit more than anything else, but a power kept him tethered in that moment.
(Where did your brazenness go, huh?)
The creature stared at him pleadingly. It was ready to talk. It couldn't die since its captor denied it, it couldn't run but just sit still in place and receive hell over and over again. Park obviously could see that this wasn't in any sense right, but he knew it was all for nought, it was impossible to get back into the driver's seat once this thing sat in his place. He could only wait till it was all over and resume from where it left off. A situation that he knew all too well.
I think it's clear to talk. Please let it be, and we're also running out of juice.
"..."
{Formation of New chapter has been delayed]
"Fine."
The rocky gag loosened along with its sanity.
(ITS UNDER THE CASTLE!! THAT'S WHERE WE WERE TOLD TO GO ONCE, WE FINISH UP HERE!!)
(Nothing's happening to him. Maybe he lied to us...)
"Splat!"
Park clasped the captive's mouth, both looking on ahead as the lifeless bodies slumped on the ground. Tiny multicolored squares danced erratically, overlapping themselves for a quick second before they died down, disappearing away from view. The small green puddle now at rest.
(If you're going to be quiet, the better and I dealt with yours, so you're off the chopping block.)
(If you understand me, blink once.)
(...)
(Good.)
(Now, what was that you were saying about a castle?)
(Underneath the castle, there is a ritual that supposed to happen, that would be able to pit us against even the likes of dragons, make us one of the most feared species to exist.)
(Go on.)
(So, the whole lot of us were sent to this place to make sure to get rid of...)
(!)
(I... I mean to make sure that the ritual would be able to be completed without a hitch. We were given blessings and thereafter sent to this place, as the others take care of the ones above.)
!
No...
"Hmm..."
(Who gave these orders?)
"It was my advisor."
A sound from behind. The green pile of bodies, now as grey as rain-laden clouds, broke apart turning to fine dust and right in the middle of it, a misshapen head.
"Looks like you had your fill."
"And you borrowed a body."
"The pot calling the kettle black."
(Whoever you people were, you were clearly a million steps ahead of us.)
"Stopped your little scheme with this guy over here. Hey, psst...!"
A similar bubble to that encasing Charles wrapped around the king's head.
"Before things derail any further..."
"You'll talk to him later if you wish."
But that was a bit rude...
(Who does the advisor take his orders from?)
(The Southern king.)
(Hmm... is there a north?)
(No north tribe, too many beasts, too many failures.)
(Still a lot to talk about. Now, I'm going to give you a set of instructions to follow, and you duly do so or else...)
The archer nodded in fervor.
(Someone's looking much better after seasoning them.)
"And you, be cautious of that talking head. Interdimensional Possession is an art lost to time, and that guy has it."
"Get ready for the endgame."
A familiar pull brought Park back into the driver seat. This period's extended duration was a bit worrying to him but that would be a topic for another day. More pressing matters had to be attended to.
