Chapter 15 - chapter 14

After coming out of Ford's house, Crystal went straight to the high-speed rail station.

She walked hurriedly. The ten-meter-wide street was full of vehicles. She hailed a taxi on her mobile phone.

After finally getting a taxi, her suitcase tripped over a speed bump, and a lot of things in her handbag fell out. Crystal took a quick look and saw that there seemed to be nothing important. She didn't pick up any of them and jumped into the taxi.

The driver was startled and turned to look at her.

"Girl, you are crazy... are we being chased?"

Crystal smiled, "It's almost the same as being chased."

The driver thought she was joking, so he pressed the horn twice, "You really don't want to pick it up, can I drive if you don't?"

Crystal nodded, and the driver laughed heartily, "Okay, then who are we being chased by? Huh?" Crystal thought to herself that if she told him who was chasing her, he might not dare to take this job.

She waved her hands and showed a harmless smile, "I was joking."

This was probably the first time she had done this.

After making an imprudent decision, Crystal sat in the back seat. She opened the car window. The slightly cold wind blew her hair, and the snowflakes fell on her face, which was a very vivid touch.

The feeling of still being alive.

When she was in the Ford family, she was a cautious figure. She would think over and over again about every word or thing she said or did. Would Ms. Sophia be satisfied? Would Evan cause trouble for her? Would Emma be worried? Later, when she met a difficult lover like Brandon, she became even more cautious in what she said and did.

Unfortunately, even though she was cautious in everything, the roses she held in her hands and cared for still grew thorns. This shows that sometimes caution is not always the same thing as a good thing.

In life, the most important thing is to be carefree and happy.

She was queuing up in front of the ticket gate. It was the off-season for travel. The huge quartz clock at the high-speed rail station turned twice, and the conductor asked her where she was going.

"The nearest trip."

The conductor was stunned, and Crystal added,

"Where are you going? No matter what, I want the nearest trip."

They all say that life is about distance and dreams. But for Crystal, only the first half of this sentence seems to be effective. She has lived for more than 20 years and has nowhere to go.

As long as we can leave City A quickly, no matter where we go, it will be fine.

While waiting for the bus, she logged into the social media. It had only been a few hours since she went outside and severed ties with the Ford family. The chat interface seemed to have exploded, with thousands of messages...

Crystal had a small group, who were all her friends in City A. This small group is usually called "City A Rich Women's Health Club."

"Today I also want to be a man's plaything" is such a ridiculous name, but now it has been changed to "Congratulations to Ms. Crystal who ran away."

Crystal couldn't help but laugh out loud after she read.

The most powerful person in City A was named Selena. She was Crystal's best friend in City A. She sent a dark and crazy emoticon and asked, "Is it true that you ran away because your mother has oppressed you for so many years, and you are finally going to rebel?"

"Sure, Crystal, kill first and ask questions later. Aren't you afraid that the emperor of your family will come down to earth to arrest you?"

"What do you know? Crystal ran away. How can Ms. Sophia abandon her family and property across the world to catch her?"

After a while, the number one-man in City A sent a private message, "Why did you run away from last night's banquet? Damn it, isn't that true? Did you really sleep with white dragon?"

White Dragon is the honorific title given to Brandon by the second-generation gang in City A. Due to Mr. Spencer's strong sense of oppression, he was named "Dragon." However, when these people think of Mr. Spencer's handsome face that looks like a god descending from the earth, they felt that the term "white dragon" was too inappropriate for him. How could anyone call a handsome man a dragon? Has society evolved so horribly?

"who?" someone asked.

So Selena slapped her thigh and decided to omit one word and call Brandon "white dragon." His nickname was Little White Dragon. Don't you know?"

Selena was jumping up and down anxiously, like some kind of animal in the melon field, that wanted to eat melons but was strangled. She replied in nonsense, but what was left for her was a red exclamation mark.

Crystal blocked her.

The group retreated. Now is not the time to chat.

Crystal exited the chat interface.

She was still running for her life.

She blocked and deleted everything related to the Ford family. She felt that she should have hesitated, at least paused for a few seconds. After all, these are her family members who have lived with her for seven or eight years.

Maybe it was because she had rehearsed all this subconsciously too many times. Crystal's heart did not waver until Emma's call. When she called, she lowered her eyes and looked at the flickering screen quietly. The phone rang softly, and after a long time, it finally hung up automatically. But soon the second and third calls came. She sighed.

She was not afraid of Brandon's pursuit, so she neither disguised nor planned a precise route of action because she knew that as long as Brandon wanted to find her, he could find her no matter what.

All she could do was gamble. Brandon won't remember, and even if he does, he won't come to her, so what she has to do now is not to escape, but to cut ties with the Ford family, which of course includes the best treatment for Emma's rotten wounds.

The method is to dig up the roots, cut off the rotten tissue all at once, then sprinkle it with medicinal powder, and bandage it patiently. Although it hurts, it is clean, strong, and effective. If you hesitate, you can only allow the rot to spread and eventually spread all over the body.

What she has to do now is to be cruel.

News that the train was about to leave was broadcast in the waiting room. Crystal tightened her grip on her suitcase, thought about it, and sent a text message to Emma.

"Emma, I'm not in a good mood. I'm going to a place to relax for a few days."

She hesitated about whether to write down the words "don't forget." She finally deleted those two words after reconsidering.

...

After boarding the train, Crystal's mood improved more than a little bit.

She rarely has such leisure time when traveling. When she was a child, she loved riding in cars because she just had to wait. She liked the feeling of waiting because waiting did not require doing anything, and there were no piles of housework or boxes of vegetables waiting for her to move. The Jones family owned a small stall in the vegetable market, and half of the moving work was left to the employees. Half of the small jobs were handed over to Crystal.
