Olivia arranged the team members in the office next door and stood guard at the door with Harry.
If Olivia was Brandon's friend, Harry would be his reading companion. In short, these three people know each other very well and are close to each other.
The conversation in the conference room was not loud, and even if you listened carefully, you wouldn't be able to tell what was going on. However, Olivia is good at hearing, so she could vaguely hear what they were talking about, and the same was true for Harry.
"Including this time, this is Miss Ford's third proposal."
Harry said with a somewhat envious tone,
"The first time was in the sea of flowers, such a big scene, the second time was a public confession, and the third time was now. Somehow... Brandon should have agreed this time."
Olivia's eyes narrowed, "No, he won't accept."
Harry pondered for a moment, "you are right. Miss Ford is not worthy of Brandon, so it is understandable that he refuses."
"In this case, why doesn't Brandon simply refuse? It's boring to be around people you don't like."
"Probably because," thinking of Crystal's life experience and the rumors about her, Olivia couldn't help but chuckle.
"Brandon likes Miss Ford, but he wants her to love him more."
Love makes Brandon very proud and makes him feel omnipotent. He always wants to be able to do everything with ease. He wants to artificially set a time limit for Crystal's love for him; he wants this time limit to be set to ten thousand years.
After Crystal came out of the city hall, the rain outside became heavier. Jack still stayed on the first floor. When he saw Crystal, he came up to her,
"Why did Miss Ford come out so quickly today? Why didn't you wait until he got off work?"
"Crystal's face was pale, but she still smiled good-naturedly.
"He hasn't gotten off work yet, so I won't wait for him to go home today," Jack said.
"Okay, I'll see you off," Jack offered.
"No need," Crystal stopped him.
She covered her face with one hand, and her expression was mostly concealed. Although she tried her best to hide her embarrassment, her body could not control her trembling.
Jack was confused: "Miss Ford, what's wrong?"
After half a minute of silence, Crystal let go of his hand covering her face, acting as if nothing had happened. "I'm fine," she said with an impeccable smile.
"It's just that I've been feeling a little uncomfortable these past few days. You've been with me for so long, and you haven't had a good rest... I'll give you a few days off, and your salary will still be paid."
She was always like this, no matter how injured she was, no matter what she suffered. No matter how big the blow was, she wouldn't reveal anything to others. She only needed to rest for a moment alone. Just a moment could allow her to lick her wounds quietly.
The skin would become harder after being injured. Nothing could hurt her over the years. She cried, but there was still a dull pain in her heart. Even though she desperately wanted to calm down, everything that had just happened still came to her mind clearly. Brandon looked at her condescendingly, with a familiar smile on his face. She had seen it many times. After she made some silly requests, Brandon would neither refuse nor agree. He would only look at her quietly like this.
Maybe he didn't want to marry her at all. She should have known better.
Jack is the personal assistant hired by the Ford family to take charge of work matters. However, Crystal has always been on the edge in the Ford family and has no work to deal with at all, so Jack will also help with life matters.
Seeing Crystal like this, Jack couldn't say anything more. "Miss Ford, please pay attention to your health. If you feel uncomfortable, it's better to go to the hospital."
Crystal nodded, "Okay, you go first, I'll drive back by myself."
The water splashed by the passing vehicles fell on her trouser legs. The cold rain spared no dampness, and a cold feeling gradually spread throughout her body...
She knew that she should not indulge in such sad emotions because it was useless. Judging from many previous experiences, it had no effect except causing her pain.
There was a photo of Brandon in her wallet, which Crystal took casually. The photo was a little blurry because of the many times it was touched. The person in the photo looked up slightly, his light green eyes were like stars.
Crystal lowered her head.
This was what she had always believed before, but now she didn't know whether she should continue to believe it.
