"Kai? Are you okay?", Yukiko asked him.
Yukiko could tell Kai was very angry, it showed on his face.
"She's here, I don't know how, but that person is here!"
She was confused as to who he was talking about, but she quickly realised it too. There was only one person she knew that Kai could ever feel this way towards.
"But that shouldn't be possible!? If Sakugo is here too, then did she come on that ship!?"
"Sakugo!? That thing has a name now? It doesn't matter anyway, help me get out of here."
Yukiko was unsure of what to do. She couldn't let Kai leave, especially with all the Vasto Lordes running around. She was well aware that the two of them together couldn't even handle one of them.
Shinten who was nearby happened to approach the two.
"Oi, Kai! I can't find Ito anywhere!?? Have you seen him? Now is the time where we need to stick together the most."
He was surprised to see that Kai was very desperate about something. This was the first time he had seen him angry like this.
"Kai?"
Before he could even ask what it was, the entire colosseum suddenly shook. Joshin Haruki who was currently maintaining the barrier appeared exhausted. This was to be expected from maintain a barrier of this caliber for 20 minutes.
As the barrier approached its weakest, multiple different ceros suddenly crashed into it until it finally broke. The captains tried to make quick work of them, but the damage was already done.
The floor beneath them shook as the colosseum titled off its axis, before finally falling out of the sky.
Shūhei shouted at everyone to grab onto something, to which everyone tried to run back inside.
Joshin of course used his remaining Reiatsu to try slow down the fall of the colosseum with a Kido spell. But it wasn't very effective.
A voice then shouted, "BAN-KAI!!"
Just before the colosseum hit the Seireitei, multiple large pillars of Ice suddenly emerged from beneath it, catching the falling building and saving all the normal souls inside it.
At the center of it all, was a captain who looked no older than 14. He was covered in a strange armour of ice, with two large frosted wings protruding out of his back.
"Daiguren Hyōrinmaru."
The second he finished stabilizing the Colosseum, he was attack by 2 nearby Vasto Lordes.
The air was cold, which caused Shinten to sneeze.
"So cool! So this is the power of a captain!"
"Shinten... protect Yukiko for me."
Yukiko tried to grab onto Kai's hand, but he was faster than even her now.
The second the building stopped shaking though, Kai immediately ran away. he jumped out of the arena, into the seating area before leaping out of the colosseum entirely.
Shūhei noticing this, shouted at him to stop but instead Yuki followed him instead. He'd go chase after them but someone needed to stay with the citizens.
"GET BACK HERE YOU IDIOT! IT'S DANGEROUS OUT THERE!"
He didn't care anymore.
Once he reached the ground he began to run to the place where he felt Sakugo's presence the most.
"I felt it near where Sōkyoku hill used to be? And then it just disappeared all of a sudden? Why did she go there?"
As he ran, he was surprised to see Yuki appear next to him and run with him too.
"Why are you following me!?"
"I was going to save Shido, but I don't know where squad 4's barracks are. Since your his friend, your going to help him too right?"
"Shido will be fine. I'm sure some of the captains are already there. There's someone else that I need to see right now."
Yuki saw Kai's eyes filled with anger. She had only seen this side of him once before, and that was right after his battle with the Fullbringers in Sugishito.
"Why is everything in this place so damn far!! Getting there will take 20 minutes at this rate!"
Traversing Seireitei was no easy feat. It was easy for Soul Reapers capable of using flash-step several times over, but for Kai who was still just a student, it proved to be a hefty task.
Kurenai which was on top of Kai's shoulder till now spoke to him.
"Don't go to Sōkyoku hill. Who your looking for isn't there."
"And how do you know, Smart ass?"
"If you actually studied those text books like you were supposed to then I wouldn't need to tell you this right now. That hill was practically destroyed after the Quincy invasion, so that place isn't where Sakugo is. I think they went to the place right next to it. Squad 1's barracks I mean."
Suddenly the explosion from a nearby cero blew up as two figures flew above them.
"Bankai! Tekken Tachikaze!"
Kensei's arms became wrapped in purple bands which were like an armour that protruded from his shoulders and formed a circle. In his hands he manifested two brass knuckles.
The Vasto Lorde threw a left hook which he easily parried before punching it in the gut.
He maintained contact with that spot, which caused numerous compressed explosions to reverberate through its body until it eventually blasted away.
Kensei landed in front of the two students.
"What the hell are kids doing out here!? Leave quickly!"
After taking a closer look at them, he appeared to recognise Kai. Not just as a key competitor in the game, but the person which Shūhei used to talk about, and the kid who was discussed in a previous captains meeting.
"You! Was this your fault?"
Kai was confused at the sudden accusation, but before he could say anything about it, a large crowd of souls appeared out of nowhere and began to rush towards them.
One of the souls noticing the captain, approached him. Although his age was unknown, he looked like a 13 year old child.
He was rather cute.
"Hello sir! Can you please take me to safety!? I can't find my mom and dad!"
Kensei was about to help them, but then he noticed something off about the group. They were all dirty, and the clothes they wore was something only Rukon folk should be wearing. Even if the tournament was going on, there shouldn't have been this many Rukon souls this deep in Soul Society. And that was when he noticed their spiritual power.
It was far too high to call them ordinary souls, but not so high that they would be considered strong. Once he figured out the truth, he had become angered.
"How did souls from the underground prison break out!? What did you bastards do to the soul reapers protecting it!?"
The child's face quickly turned sour and bitter.
"Why do you have to be so smart? Couldn't you have just ignored us?"
