Chapter 65 - Death And Jail

Senjuro and Kitagawa ended up being temporarily imprisoned in the 1st level of the Central Great Underground Prison. Senjuro's illegal hollowfication appeared to have something to do with Kitagawa, so he was taken in too.

Since Senjuro was disqualified, Yuki won the fight by default yet she remained unhappy at the outcome. She clearly lost but the victory was given to her. It left a bitter taste in her mouth.

Because of this incident where even Ichigo had to get involved, a rumour began to spread about the third years cheating, and that was the reason why they were all so strong.

Jinriyu was walked down a corridor before taking a sharp turn. He felt as if he was being followed by someone, but he kept going anyway.

He made it to a secret meeting spot which he had arranged before hand, a place where he and Yoko could meet.

"Another message? What is it now?", he asked.

"Because of the incident, he's decided to move the plan down to tomorrow in the match between Kai and that furry."

He was confused about the furry part, but then he quickly realized she was talking about the armoured 2nd year.

"I was wondering what was going on behind that mask. So what did he say about Shido?"

"He said you should wake him up tomorrow. We're going to need all the help we can get."

The two heard a foot shift in the distance before suddenly running away. Yoko scolded Jinriyu for letting someone get that close before quickly running after them.

The figure tried to run away but they crashed into a Kido barrier which blocked off the hallway. Once Yoko caught up, she was surprised to see Ito wiping the blood off his nose.

"Well this is... surprising? I didn't take you to be the nosy type?"

He suddenly lashed out at her while screaming,

"WHAT DID YOU BASTARDS DO TO SHIDO!?"

Yoko easily dodged the attack which surprised him. She had never displayed her full ability before so this was a surprise. She easily subdued him before knocking him out.

"We're going to need you to disappear for a while. So get some good sleep, okay??"

He tried to break free, but he felt his consciousness slipping and Yoko was stupidly strong, even if he was at his best he didn't think he could remove her. It was as if a boulder was on top of him.

Jinriyu peered around a conner and looked at the two.

"Strange? I recall that he was still meant to be at squad 4? But I guess it doesn't matter now. Sleep well, because the next time you wake up, the Seireitei won't be recognizable anymore."

--First floor of the underground prison

Senjuro was unconscious on the floor. His student Shihakushō had been completely replaced for a plain white one, and his arms were wearing spiritual pressure suppressing cuffs. As he got up, he saw that he was in a cage of some sort that was connected to a sealing. He looked down and could see the infinite darkness underneath.

There were several other cages, all with people inside.

He considered trying to escape, but if he did then he would just fall to his death. He also realized that his Zanpakutō had been taken from him too.

"HELLO!?", he shouted.

Several voices shouted at him to shut up, but the voice of an elderly male was kind enough to speak to him. He asked where he was and quickly found out about what happened.

"You weren't the only one that came here recently, a boy around your age was here too. But he got taken right out after you."

"So when can I leave?"

His voice suddenly went quiet. But then a voice, this time belonging to a women laughed at him.

"That's the fun part. You don't. Everyone who has been brought here were meant to wait for a trial to decide their fate. But the central 46 aren't as kind as the public sees them to be. Some of us here have already been waiting over 100 years for a trial."

Senjuro screamed as he demanded to be let out, but everyone just told him to shut up. That didn't stop him from shaking his cage though. Even an hour later, he was still very eager to get out.

--Central 46 underground assembly hall

Kitagawa found himself in a large dimly lit room. He appeared to be in a court room, surrounded by the members of central 46 who had the faces hidden. Behind him however, was Shunsui and the grandmaster.

Normally he wouldn't even be given a chance for trial, but since his father was the leader of the Kido corp, he was an exception.

"Kitagawa Haruki, the accused. Why was traces of your spiritual pressure found within Senjuro Takami?"

He wasn't surprised, it was about time someone found out. Especially with his father being present, there was no escaping this.

"Are you familiar with the Hueco Mundo incident 1 year ago? Senjuro Takami and a few others were sent to Hueco Mundo on a field trip. The Soul Reaper that was in charge of watching them was killed so the rest of the group got disbanded. It was assumed the entire group got wiped out, but Senjuro was later found by chance."

This story was a tough one for the grandmaster to hear. She was indirectly responsible for all of this, and it was her mistake that led to this situation. A central 46 member, urged him to get to the point.

"When Senjuro returned that day, he wasn't the same. It wasn't that his hair had just changed colour, but his personality was different too. He would often zone out, or suddenly get aggressive all of a sudden. One day while the two of us were training in private, Senjuro began to emit hollow spiritual pressure. The only method I could think of to stop him was to seal it off. To do so, I cut of a piece of my own Reiryoku and forced it into him. My power was enough to suppress it, but every time he fought, the seal got weaker and weaker, until it exploded today. Likewise, I also got my Reiryoku back."

This sparked quite a discussion in the room. The process of hollowfication was something everyone in their was familiar too. Before it was forbidden and shamed on, but thanks to it, Soul society had been saved countless times.

A member then asked,

"How did he obtain hollowfication?"

Senjuro himself never said how. It was a secret he kept to himself, and that it was something he obtained in an effort to survive. A burden that only he needed to bare.

One of the members then noticed,

"You've often been seen hanging around not just Senjuro Takami, but also Aiko Shizagawa. Another 3rd year. Did she also know about this?"

Although he said no, the grandmaster thought otherwise. She didn't say anything about this.

They discussed amongst each other once more, before finally declaring,

"Kitagawa Haruki. To hide the existence of Senjuro's hollowfication, is a threat to the balance of the Soul Society. For this punishment, you will be sentenced to 500 years on the 4th floor of the underground prison."
