1 Month later
Shido, Kai, Shinten as well as all the other first year students had gathered outside the gates of Shino academy. This would be the starting date of the tekken event, a fight to see who is the most worthy to become a Soul Reaper.
Kai was stretching his body, preparing to fight as he waited patiently while Shido appeared to be reading a book. Shinten on the other hand, was performing practice swings while his Zanpakutō was still sheathed.
"Are you sure you should be reading that? We're about to fight soon.", Kai asked Shido.
"Don't worry, this is no ordinary book."
Eventually after an hour passed, Shinten finally grew fed up of waiting. He started to shout as he asked, when they were going to bring it up.
Curiously Kai then asked, "Bring it up? Bring what up?"
"Oh that's right! You've never watched one before, have you?"
Then suddenly the ground began to unexpectedly shake as an earthquake erupted throughout the entire school, possibly even the whole of Seireitei. The students began to cheer, while Yuki just silently clapped.
Kai was panicking as he was asking what was going on, but Shido just reassured him that everything would be fine. Although he wasn't expecting them to be standing on top of it.
"STANDING ON TOP OF IT??? STANDING ON TOP OF WHAT????"
The ground broke apart as everyone fell into a massive hole of darkness beneath them, but surprisingly, they all came out only a moment later, but this time they were accompanied by something massive.
It was a large, round, open battle arena that resembled a Roman arena in structure, as it had no cover at the top. It has numerous arches in its walls, and no entrance. There were five gigantic statues, each holding a Katana with a big circle on top, which look like Soul Reapers that faced inwards, surrounding the Coliseum.
The Coliseum kept rising, higher and higher, as it eventually levitated into the sky above the Academy.
The inside of the arena was large enough to contain a town. In the commentators area, he could see two people standing there. Both were Soul Reaper, yet they seemed to be a captain and a lieutenant. Everyone recognized the Lieutenant as Nanao Ise, the woman who conducted the second half of the entrance exam, which Kai still found very stupid to this day.
The Captain was very strange and mysterious. He wore the Captains garb, but it was mostly overshadowed by the pink kimono which he wore, more like a cape. Interestingly enough, he also had a pair of Zanpakutō which was very similar to Kai's. A standard Katana, and a smaller Wakizashi.
He clapped his hands gathering everyone's attention within an instant.
"We saw you guys were getting impatient, so we decided to raise the Tamashī no tōgi-ba early. Although you will have to wait for a crowd to form before we officially begin-"
Suddenly, he hunched back as he felt a sudden pain in his back. Unknown to the crowd below, Nanao was gripping Shunsui's spine very tightly.
"Ow! OW!"
Nanao muttered under her breath, not allowing nay of the students to hear what she was saying, "You weren't supposed to start off with that you idiot! Check your notes."
Shunsui quickly went through his pockets and pulled out a stack of yellow notes, which flabbergasted the students. He quickly shuffled through all of them before mumbling something.
"Eh- whatever!"
He threw the notes into the crowd as they fluttered and scattered everywhere. Kai picked one that was falling in the sky, and saw that it read:
"I'm the captain commander of the Gotei 13, Shunsui Kyoraku."
His jaw dropped when he read that, this guy acted nothing like what he expected a captain to be. But who knows how he came to end up in that position.
"You all have fun now!"
He suddenly flash stepped away somewhere, as he completely abandoned the students, while also leaving behind an angry Nanao.
Kai looked around and saw that many of the student's were very bored. Some had already left the arena to explore the facilities, while others stayed back.
