#8
I drove a car. The dark sea in front of Mokpo spreads out like the background. Lee Ji-hoon looked at the driving record on the navigation system and drove a car.
Somewhere in Mokpo port. From there, the car departed.
"Did the goods come in by boat?"
As originally expected, it must have been a drug from China or North Korea. I don't know exactly what kind of drug it is, but I brought a few samples, so Minjun will find out.
Lee Ji-hoon parked his car in a dark port area. There are several cars around. It's a truck or a vongo.
Unlike the port area, the area where the colorful lights were shining was full of restaurants. This side was even darker due to the contrast. It is a perfect darkness for secret transactions.
Lee Ji-hoon got out of the car.
Where is it? What kind of ship was it unloading.
It lifts the five senses. The sound of waves in the calm sea hits the ears. This is not the sound. He runs fast and his ears are wide open.
There was nothing to make a sound in the serene night harbour, though. It should be.
'I can hear the sound.'
I can hear a loud sound. This is the sound of a conversation. The voices of different heights come and go.
Lee specified the direction. He flicked through the darkness without a single light.
He climbs on a moderately high warehouse and looks around. It is around here that I heard the sound. His eyes touch a ship floating in the dark.
The ship looked like a ship about 50 tons in size. The ship, floating in the dark, appeared to be for loading cargo. There was a faint light leaking out of the captain's room, and two people were standing there.
The sound of the horse that was heard was a conversation between a person who appeared to be a captain and a person who appeared to be a flight attendant.
At this point, I can hear the words at first glance.
"After one deal, you're going to do another?"
"Yes. It's in about two hours."
"Oh, my. When are you going back?"
The captain grumbled and checked the time.
"Are you sure you got the money?"
"Yes. They usually take care of the money, don't they?"
"Yeah. We won't know what the deal is going to be. Just make sure you keep that in mind."
"I'll check the kids' mouths."
The middle-aged man bowed his head and moved away from the captain. Lee Ji-hoon's eyes follow him. I can't see it because it's hidden by the ship, but I could hear him moving.
He approached the people who were staying elsewhere on the ship. I can hear a man jumping up while the man is a natter or they are sitting or lying somewhere.
"Are you here?"
I feel like I'm bending my head or the sound is subtly stretched.
"Uh- Sit down, sit down. Take it easy."
According to him, I can hear him sitting somewhere with a time difference. He seems to have barely sat down while looking at his face.
"Good job today. Don't go anywhere and talk about what happened today. Stay on the island quietly for a few days, then load up with new stuff. Okay?"
"Yes!"
Lee Ji-hoon was attracted to certain words while listening to the story.
"Island?"
"Remember, there are many uninhabited islands in the West Sea. Where did they stop by?" Lee Ji-hoon approached the ship. A ship weighing about 30 tons can be hiding as much as possible to hide only a fairly small badge.
The man, who was chatting with the crew, left the room and returned to the captain. Lee Ji-hoon used his electromagnetic force to climb up the ship's wall.
He hid himself in a corner and waited for his time.
"Captain, isn't it a little late?"
"Is that so?"
The captain looks into the watch. I see. By this time, the transaction has been completed, so you should be contacted to prepare for the next transaction and to get ready to unload the goods. That has been the pattern so far.
"I see. Let's call him for a second."
The captain turned down the volume of the radio he was listening to and pulled out his smartphone.
There seemed to be a brief beep, but the word came back that the power was off and there was no connection.
"Huh? Is the power off?"
The captain's spine gets cold. The crisis instinct I built up over many years of doing this was awakened in an instant. The vice-captain was the same.
"Can't I connect you?"
"Yeah. It's weird, I'll try the other guys too."
I also called other members of the organization.
"······."
It was the same. I can't get through to all the writers who called. The captain thought for a moment, but made a decision right away.
"Let's sail. It's right to go back to the island."
"······ Will it be okay?"
The deputy captain asks anxiously. The captain's voice was firm.
"Maybe they're caught in a crackdown. Maybe they're missing a deal and they're knifing each other. Anyway, we're just talking one way beforehand. If you can't come back in time, you're right to go back."
"Yes. I'll tell the kids, too."
The deputy captain moved in a hurry.
Blowing out
"I'm leaving the port."
"What?"
The sailors lying down are surprised. The deputy commander explains the species of self-help and wipes out the sailors.
The Mooring Line, which connects the ship to the land, is hastily disassembled and boarded the ship. After retrieving the line, the ship left there.
The crew went back into the room and sat down.
I'm talking a little anxious.
"Are you okay?"
"We're fine. How can they chase you when you go to the island by boat?"
"Do you know what it is? Didn't you get beaten up by the police?"
"Huh! Police? The Coast Guard is on our side. It's different from the police"
He was confident. The sailor, who was a little worried, seemed to have changed his mind a little.
"I guess so, right? Even if you were beaten by another organization, you wouldn't be able to come by boat."
"Sure, sure. We are safe."
It's funny to guarantee safety on the topic of drug transportation, but Lee Ji-hoon listened in silence. All four people in the ship felt a little anxious, but when they came out to sea, they were completely relieved.
"I'll have to stay stuck for a few days when I go back."
"You can still drink at night, though the snacks are terrible."
"Alcohol gives you good things. You should be content with that."
"LOL. They do give me a lot of money."
They decided to return to the island and fish while they had time. Whether it was sashimi or persimmons for spicy fish stew, it was better to catch something to eat for a snack.
"I like it, but do you want me to let you?"
"If you say you'll catch a lot and give them away, they'll allow you."
"The kids often eat meat, too."
"But sometimes I think of fish. Can you stand it when you see raw fish jumping from your hands?"
"What?"
Are there other guys on the "Island"?
Lee Ji-hoon briefly recalled the conversation. There are other characters when they arrive on the island, and they seem to receive their goods on land regularly. Because there is no meat coming from the island.
Are they the ones who manage the stopover? They're receiving so much stuff?
In many ways, there were many questions. I think I'll have to go in person to find out. Lee Ji-hoon stayed still in one place on the ship, quietly facing the sea breeze.
***
The boat was in full swing.
There were glimmering lights in the distance, but regardless of them, the boat on now gradually moved away from them.
The moon was beautiful when viewed from the ship that went out to the sea where the darkness was fluctuating. The ship used the moon as a lighthouse for a long time.
The ship, which had been going for a long time, stopped at some point and opened the radio.
Ah, this is Fortuna. This is Fortuna. Reply.
Chewy-chewy-
- Good reception.
- We're about to land. Judo wind.
-Good.
After the radio, the light came on from the island. It was not too bright, but it was light enough to enter the island with care. It was guiding the ship to the cave.
At some point, it was a big cave that was hard to see.
The captain drove the ship to the cave. He skillfully controlled the ship by relying on the light. Lee dug further in to hide himself just in case. The light turned on when the ship went in unexpectedly, and the camouflage net that had been up spread out.
It was a camouflage net made to look like endless piles of stones and trees from a distance.
As soon as they entered, the lights went out and the sea was in the dark.
As the ship entered the island, three people from inside stood. The person in charge appeared to be a young man who looked a little rogue but had a neat style. The two standing behind them were large and had rifles in their hands.
The rogue man tilted his head and asked the captain, who had docked and got off.
"Why did you come so early?"
"The boss, the guys didn't come back at the appointed time. It's two today, but it's only been one time. The phone doesn't pick up."
"Well, that's strange."
The man stroked his chin.
"What's your item?"
"Yes. The half remains the same."
"Good on you. Offload. Go rest."
"Yes!"
The captain and crew unloaded the drugs from the ship. Two in a large box. The boss watched without a blink of an eye and opened the box to check the item.
"Absolutely. I'll have the others do the rest, so go and rest."
"Yes."
The captain and the crew politely bowed their heads and went inside. They disappeared along a path that seemed to have been carved out of a natural cave. Lee Ji-hoon got down the other side and watched them with bated breath.
"Call the resting kids and tell them to move this."
"Yes."
The guy standing behind him connected the radio somewhere and delivered the instructions. The boss annoyingly kicked his tongue, pulled out his phone, and called.
"······"
"You're not answering."
I think I've called the guys I was dealing with.
"That's strange."
He murmured like that and called somewhere else.
"Uh, it's me. I lost contact with the kids who left today. I don't know if they were carrying it or not. Uh, yeah. Two cases today. It was Mokpo. Um, yeah, you send someone to find out. Okay. Call me as soon as you find anything."
Stop
The boss who hung up on the phone kicked his tongue.
"I'm glad only half is gone."
He made me do this on purpose. It was to spread the risk as much as possible. By ship and land. If both are hit at the same time, I have no choice, but to get even half of them.
I'm glad I got half of the goods, but what happened to the trading side.
He kicked his tongue annoyingly. Two other people from the inside bowed to their boss.
"Move all of this inside."
"Yes."
They carried the goods inside without saying anything.
The cave, which was a little noisy, went quiet again. Lee Ji-hoon jumped from the boat and landed there. I looked around.
No matter how much I look at it...
"I'm on a person's hand."
It was obvious that the island was artificially cut and trimmed. The concrete underlying it, the lighting embedded in it. It's never something that a drug organization can make.
What is it.
Lee Ji-hoon decided to go inside more.
