Mrs. Sophia pushed David away. "Smooth talker! Alright, don't try to sweet-talk me. When the time comes, are you really going to stand by your mother's side?" Regardless of everything, she felt a sweet satisfaction in her heart; for once, her son was speaking up for her, and to say she wasn't happy would be a lie.
After David was sent away, he finally felt a sense of relief, but he couldn't let his guard down. The family matters and the company issues were really piling up, and it was becoming overwhelming. If he managed to settle things with his mom, it wouldn't matter if his dad remained stubborn and refused to back down; all the sweet words he said to Mrs. Sophia wouldn't make a difference.
Arriving at the villa where Dominic was temporarily staying, he realized he wasn't the only one who couldn't sleep. Sighing, he walked into the villa. At least here, there wasn't a mess to clean up; his dad was much calmer than his mom.
