"It seems like I might be in the wrong," David said with a smile, nodding. "Your colleague has arrived. Should I continue to play along with you, or should we make our relationship public and let your colleagues be envious? Haven't you noticed how your colleagues look at me as if they want to pounce on me?"
"Shameless! You're flirtatious enough as it is; don't slander my colleagues! You'd better not say anything; my life has nothing to do with you anymore!" Jennifer hated him, that flirt!
Marygold came over with a cup of water and, seeing that David hadn't left yet, couldn't help but sigh. She wished she had come a little later to avoid their conflict. "Jennifer, the water is ready."
David shrugged and waved at Marygold. "Pretty lady, you know how to be considerate." With a charming smile, he turned and left.
