David used scissors to cut open the shirt on her back. The horrifying wound made him grip the scissors tightly, the veins on the back of his hand bulging, and his knuckles turning white. Just by looking at his hand, one could tell how terrible his mood was.
"Damn it, why aren't you fighting back?!" David threw the scissors onto the carpet with a thud, causing Jennifer's body to tremble.
She cried even harder, as if trying to cry out all her grievances. However, she didn't utter a single complaint; she just cried, endlessly.
If she had the ability to resist or any leverage to fight back, would she not do so? She knew very well that if she fought back, it would only bring suffering to Xavier and Sophie. Could she do that? She couldn't bring herself to harm others just to vent her own frustrations.
