Stomping through the woods a small convoy of soldiers marched deeper into the forest. Rylla and Rial just barley stayed out of sight. One guy stood out in the front of the small convoy. He was wearing smaller iron armor than the rest with no helmet and a longer sword. His hair was blonde and he had brown eyes. His armor had gold carved into the body plate and shoulders to make a design of a humming bird. It was obvious he was leading the platoon farther into the forest where they had came from.
Rylla puts her finger over her mouth to Rial showing him to be quiet. The fairy's cant know she is there with the wars going on but she cant communicate that to Rial. "Please don't make a noise..." Hoping Rial understands her and trusts her enough to follow her. She waves over Rial.
Nodding Rial moves over slowly to the bush Rylla is in. Looking at the fairy's more closely he notices there wings. There all unique...Some are colorful, brown, blue, red, and many variants. Pinching himself again he starts to become nervous and try's to reach for another sword at his waist but nothing happens. He starts to become increasingly nervous and starts to shake and fidget with his fingers. Not being able to defend himself terrifies him and makes him incredibly nervous.
"Calm down." Rylla looks at him and try to lip sync to him. But ultimately having to breathe in and out to help him breathe in and out. Noticing that his hand is still on his waist were a sword would be. She is just as scared as he is though being in Fairy territory, this ruins everything they have done up till now. Fairy's are at war with elf's and if they find her she would be sold as a slave to a rich fairy in power most likely.
Falling back to the river to take a moment to breathe Rylla began to freak out and Rial could tell, this caused him to freak out because he knows she knows more than him. It's about night time and all they have is there fire which is slowly dimming into the moonlight. He has to do something to help or even brighten the mood a little but at this point he just wants to give up. Everything including his injury's are catching up with him in the cold ruthless night breeze. Before falling asleep he pulls out the journal from his pouch. Thinking about how to use it out of desperation he pours the little mana he had in it...nothing happens. Sighing at the suppose failure, the night sounds of the animals and running water slowly made his eyes close causing him to fall asleep. The moon coming out and shining the little light it had in the sky caused peace in the atmosphere.
Waking up she notices Rial right next to her, normally this would bother her but she would be dead or sold by now if he meant to do something...but who knows? she knows there's nothing left she has. Thinking to herself is more painful than anything due to her parents ditching her. Then something caught her attention. "What the hell is that journal doing." "Why is it that color...something is not right." The journal on the boys chest was glowing pure white like the clouds in the sky that night. The only magic she knows of are the main 4 colors, red for fire, pink for life, blue for water, and yellow for air. She knows there are certain upper class mages that can mix and match colors for new colors but white is unheard of. A symbol appears on the journal, it is a weird S with many lines going horizontally through it. Not recognizing the mark she frowned and sighed, it was a complete mystery. Dimming back down the little mana that appeared in the book disappeared and it started to pour down rain even harder than before with a couple of loud claps of lighting and thunder. Shaking from pain slowly coming back and the cold breeze she huddled under the shelter with Rial under the makeshift wood and leaf structure.
A warmer breeze fills the shelter with the shine of daylight waking both of them up at the same time. Rylla hitting her head jumped up because Rial was basically breathing on her forehead. Bowing in apology he goes to the river again. Something feels off about him.
"What is going on with me? I feel....better?" Rial gets in the river and starts to float and notices the journal on his belt. Quickly he throws it back on land hoping the water didn't destroy the pages.
"It's fine?" Looking at it Rylla backs off remembering what happened last time she tried touching it. Pointing at it and then giving Rial a shaky thumbs up signifying the book is ok.
"What do you mean its fine?" Realizing what he just said his mouth stayed down in amazement. Rylla looked at him the same way and smiled faintly. Realizing what is happening he knew what to say just in case there was some sort of freakish time limit.
"Thank you for trusting me Rylla." Bowing towards her he sniffed out a tear. not being able to talk to at least one person has destroyed him from the inside out. Although he has never been social, human beings need some sort of social contact at least once. He always talked to his parents over talking to kids his age so this was still awkward for him. When he he was stranding straight he looked up to see a crying elf kneeling on the ground. He must know how much she has gone through to get to where she has been at. No social interaction or ability to hardly communicate. Walking to her then taking her hand which seemed to have a little resistance to it. He let go and started walking to the water. He wanted to show Rylla the one way he has kept calm on the journey.
"Just get in and float on top then close your eyes and relax a little bit." Sniffing another tear down his face thinking about his family he finally broke. Tears started to stream down his face again. Floating on top of the water he hears Rylla floating next to him and sniffing.
"no, thank you for being with me Rial." Crying and floating she gave him a thumbs up in the air with a watery smile.
"how do you do it? I would of wanted to kill myself by now." Rylla opened her eyes and looked at him next to her. He was still crying while floating but she had no room to talk. She was to.
"I want to kill myself...I want to end it all the most right now. I've lost everything and got sent here against my own will. I miss my mom...my dad. My friends from class doing magic with me. Everything." Choking on a couple tears that fell into his mouth he stayed quiet after than. It was silence for around 30 minutes until Rial broke the silence.
"But What about you? You know what your parents did. Do you still want to see them? What about revenge?" Rial looked at her then they both got caught looking at each other. Looking away quickly he waited for a response.
"I don't know honestly. I want to see them and ask why? I hate them and even though I cant think of a singe good memory, My mind still says to talk to them. But for now I...I just want to find someplace warm with food." Finally the last tear shed for her but looking at Rial he was still struggling. He had it worse then her, more worse than she thought. "Just don't kill yourself, not yet ok?" Punching him slightly in the shoulder she smiled. Rial's mood became more lightful instead of just pure darkness hazing over him.
"don't worry I don't even think I could if I tried right now" Smiling back they sat there and continued to talk.
"What is this world like, Antrica right?" Looking back up the sky he put his hand up looking at a cloud. He was stuck here now so he needed to learn as much as he could.
"Don't get your hopes up...Its war ridden with monsters everywhere. Who knows if we will make it to the town alive." Looking at the sky she trembles from thinking about some monsters slain she has seen bought into elf plaza.
"What type of monsters?" Looking at her full of curiosity in his face, his mood lightens but the pain still lingers mentally and physically.
"Dragons, goblins, any type of creature you can think of in your head probably exists here. Most of the time you only see the top three most common, slimes, goblins, and then sometimes bears or wolfs." Wondering what he is thinking and even if he knew what they were remotely. Looking at him his eyes were sparkling and that made her laugh at him. his face was so full of hope even still most likely being half dead still.
After a couple of more hours heading off on the trail they realized that Rylla had to hide her elf ears. She had ways of hiding her elf ears with a old cloak she found on the trail the warriors left behind which was convenient. Finally filled with food and some rain water they started heading off on the trail towards the fairy settlement. Surrounded by the green leaves and trails they are both wondering what to do next. Hide in the settlement? Just act normal? They have to be careful on the inside.
Looking down Rial feels a small vibration and notices the journal glowing white again as it started to rain.
