Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 There is Four Of Them

Inhale... Sigh...

"GO!!! HIT THE BALL!!"

Sigh... Multiple screams echoed inside my ears, but I could do nothing about it, especially since those not screaming were only a minority. Even our dearest Corey was yelling.

Currently, we have a sports class, one of my favorites because it lacks thinking. Also, I like the outfit for sports: a simple T-shirt and shorts. It's tight but not too tight, just enough to hold our skin firm. The outfit is red, so I think you know why I like it.

Honestly, we don't do much in sports class—just stretching and running. After that, we can play any sport we want, like volleyball, soccer, or basketball.

However, I skip all of those. I ran three laps, which is mandatory, and I'm already sweating. Of course, I'm not alone, and I'm not the worst person sweating like a bullet. And here we are, watching the "Top" play volleyball.

"YEAHHH!!!"

Ho... it looks like she scored again. In every class, there's always one person who's really good at sports, and for us, it's that girl—Amo is her name. I feel like I've heard that name before, but I can't remember where. Honestly, that girl is quite an anomaly. She's quite tall for a middle schooler, definitely one of the tallest girls in our school. Popular, too, with her bright brown hair cut short to her ears, small breasts, and three piercings in each ear.

Not gonna lie...

She is... cool.

She was the target of many "bottoms" like us... not me, of course.

"Say... Corey, do you like her?"

"W-what are you... t-talking about?" Corey, sitting beside me, looked flustered, glancing right and left.

"I'm just asking... so, do you?" I insisted.

"...Yeah... I do," she answered, or more like whispered, to me amidst the heated yells around.

...

..

..

"What about you, Agatha?"

"Me... yeah, I like her."

"...I see..."

Well, it's quite hard not to like her—not love, but just like. There's a difference, just to be clear. She's good, you know... definitely lover material.

"...I see... so we are rivals then," Corey stared at me menacingly. I think there's a misunderstanding here.

"I'm no-" Hold on... wait. If I pretend to be her rival, it will make her more serious about not losing. Maybe it's not a bad thing. I feel bad deceiving her, but let's see how strong and big your love is, our dearest Corey.

With a smile...

"Bring it on." I could see fire in her eyes, burning bright.

"But for now... let's wash and change clothes," I added. She nodded, and we headed back to the class, took out our uniforms and towels from our bags, and headed to the bathroom, which is specially reserved after sports class.

On the way, we passed our friends from the same class who had already washed earlier than us. We threw some greetings at them, and they did the same. When we got to the bathroom, it was filled with other girls from our class, but some stalls were still empty. It offers full privacy with only one person per stall, but that didn't stop some students from going in together to make it faster.

When I entered a stall and locked the door, I saw only one button to turn on the shower and a shelf to put clothes on. Very simple and neat. You can bring your own soap if you want, but I can't be bothered with that.

I undressed, washed my body with running water, dried off with a towel, dressed back in my school uniform, and ta-da~ it was done. As for my underwear, if you ask me... well, I flipped it back and forth. It looked clean, a little bit smelly with sweat, but wearable... so I'm fine with it. I bear with it. I endure it. Damn it! I forgot to bring another pair!

I left the bathroom and headed straight to the class because I knew Corey would take a long time to wash, so I waited for her there as usual. In the class, I saw my classmates either talking to each other or playing with their phones. It was a school break, after all.

Walking to my desk, I threw my sportswear inside a plastic bag, slightly shifted my chair to the right, and joined a conversation with these two "bottom" girls beside me. They gladly let me in. Mira and Lani, a pair of girls just like Corey and me, are childhood friends. Mira has short hair to her shoulders, dark brown, matching her eyes. She always smiles when she talks—a sunny girl.

Lani, on the other hand, is a unique existence. She has been albino since birth, with white hair cut short, white eyebrows, pale skin, and even her eye color is white. And no, this isn't something cool like in fantasy stories. It's a sickness, a defect. Her body is sickly. She has worn glasses since childhood because her eyesight is bad. Overall, she's a miserable person.

Sometimes, out of nowhere, I cry for her. I'm the type of person who can't bear when someone close to me suffers. I can't feel their suffering, and yet I cry. Maybe that's why she opened her heart to me and let me be her friend, as Mira was her only friend before.

"What are you guys talking about?" I asked.

"Ah... Agatha, do you know about the Grand Mall, 'Touch the World'?" Lani asked me.

"Of course, there's no way not to know a big building like that," I replied.

"Hmm... you see, there's karaoke there, and I want to try it, but Mira won't allow me... she's so cheap," Lani complained to me.

"Of course, you can't! What about your body? I still remember you passing out at the park two weeks ago!" Mira squinted her eyes at Lani.

"Tell her, Agatha... she can't do it," she added, turning to me.

Why me...? And why are both of you looking at me like that...

"I think... it's... uh... how about asking her parents?" I suggested, shifting their focus.

"She is right, Mira. Alright, let's call them," Lani immediately pulled out her phone and dialed her parents.

"Hello, Mama... no, I'm fine... yes... yes... listen, Mama, can I go to the Grand Mall? ... Mira? Yes, she is here... yes...

Here, Mira, for you," she handed her phone to Mira.

"Good morning, madam... yes... yes... maybe the weekend... yes, yes... yes... I assure you, madam... phew.

Alright, you win. We will go on the weekend. You too, Agatha. Bring Corey with you..." With a sigh, she slumped on her desk, looking tired. Lani, on the other hand, looked happier.

"Sure... but still, you guys look like you're inseparable, like glue always together," I stated.

"Of course, we're always together after all," Lani answered me with a happy smile. That sounded romantic and ambiguous at the same time.

"What are you guys talking about?" Suddenly, I heard Corey's voice from the side. She was done changing, and I could smell her soapy, flowery scent. After she set down her sports uniform, we started telling her about the plans, and she agreed immediately. What can I say? Just like Mira and Lani, Corey and I are also kind of inseparable.

Well... let the future decide.

Let's just enjoy our moment.

You never know what might happen in the future.
