Chapter 52 - The Aftermath of the Gyaru Showdown

The echo of footsteps bounced off the walls of the hallway, signaling the end of an eventful and chaotic afternoon. The previously tense atmosphere was now silent, save for the soft shuffling of feet as Yuki, Taiyo, Kitsune, and the gyaru crew made their dramatic exit from the school building. The unconscious bodies of the defeated gyarus lay scattered across the hallway, still lying in their humiliating defeat. Kitsune's precise and graceful strikes had left the bullies floored, and now, the aftermath seemed like something straight out of an action anime.

As the crew walked, the dramatic tension seemed to settle into a more casual atmosphere. Kitsune, despite her triumph, remained calm and unbothered, while Taiyo was clearly struggling to understand what had just happened. Yuki, however, had a very different set of thoughts running through her mind.

---

Yuki (muttering to herself):

"I can't believe that just happened... What is going on with me today?"

She tried to shake off the adrenaline still rushing through her veins, but her body wouldn't stop tingling with the aftermath of the fight. The gyarus, once so bold and loud, were now lying motionless, their pride shattered. Yuki couldn't even feel victorious, more like she had just barely managed to survive an anime-like brawl.

The group walked past the downed bodies, their sneakers clicking lightly on the floor. Kitsune, leading the pack, didn't even glance back at the defeated bullies, as though it was all part of her usual routine. Taiyo, trailing behind with Yuki, was just starting to put two and two together.

---

Taiyo (frowning):

"Hold up. Did we just... end them? Like, seriously end them? I mean, those girls were hardcore, and you—"

Kitsune (cutting him off):

"They were asking for it."

Taiyo didn't seem to have a witty comeback, his eyes still wide as he processed the scene.

Yuki, on the other hand, felt a strange sense of relief that the situation had been resolved. She glanced around, her stomach still growling. The tension in the hallway had left her with an emptiness that could only be filled with food.

---

Yuki (sighing):

"I... I need something to eat. Like, right now."

Kitsune (glancing over her shoulder with a grin):

"You're hungry after all that? You were going full-on anime character out there."

Yuki didn't even respond. She was too focused on the hunger gnawing at her. Her stomach growled louder, and she winced.

---

The group walked out into the brisk afternoon air, heading down the familiar streets of Shibuya. As they passed by small shops and bustling crowds, the events from earlier still weighed heavily on Yuki's mind. She couldn't help but feel awkward. It wasn't every day you got caught up in a physical fight like that.

Taiyo and Kitsune exchanged words, their sibling bond evident in the way they bickered playfully.

---

Taiyo (laughing nervously):

"Geez, Kitsune, do you always do that? I thought we were gonna get arrested or something."

Kitsune (shrugging):

"Not my fault they tried to mess with Yuki."

But the weirdness of the situation wasn't over yet. As the group reached a corner of the street, Yuki began to notice something... strange. There were some students from school walking nearby—many of them international students—and they couldn't help but notice her.

---

American Student 1 (whispering to friend):

"Wait, is she... doing the Sigma face thing? That's like... mewing, right?"

American Student 2 (chuckling):

"Yeah, that's definitely it. She's like, actually doing it."

Yuki froze, realizing that her weird TikTok-inspired face, the jawline flex that she thought was just a temporary thing to look "cool," was now being seen by others. She had no idea how it had gone viral, but it was clear that mewing was more than just a meme now. It was turning into a global phenomenon, and here she was, at the center of it all.

---

Brazilian Student (snickering, trying it too):

"Pfft—I'm doing it now too. This is hilarious."

Spanish Student (joining in):

"I can't believe this is happening. Look at her... she's leading the trend!"

Yuki's face burned red as she realized everyone was looking at her. Some were copying her movements—mewing their own jawlines while others laughed and filmed. It was becoming a full-blown meme moment, and Yuki had unintentionally turned into the star.

Taiyo (confused but laughing):

"Wait, is this... are people actually copying you? What's going on?!"

Kitsune (laughing):

"Oh, Yuki, you've started something now. They're all doing it!"

But the awkwardness wasn't lost on Yuki, who instinctively tried to hide behind her hair, hoping she could just vanish.

---

Yuki (grumbling):

"I didn't mean for this to happen. Why is this happening to me?"

As they continued walking, Kitsune and Taiyo noticed how much attention Yuki was getting, both from the students who were copying her Sigma face and the crowd that had started forming to watch the strange scene unfold.

---

Kitsune (grinning mischievously):

"Hey, Yuki, I think you just went viral. You should be proud."

Yuki didn't respond, continuing to walk with her head down, trying to act like she wasn't the center of attention. But it wasn't easy. In fact, it was downright impossible.

---

As they reached the nearby convenience store, Yuki couldn't hold off any longer. She quickly grabbed a soda to soothe her parched throat, her mind still racing from everything that had just happened. She glanced at the food options but couldn't find what she was really craving—something hearty to fill her empty stomach.

Yuki (sighing deeply):

"Convenience store food isn't for me... I need something better."

Taiyo, ever the reliable one, gave her a knowing look and pointed down the street.

---

Taiyo:

"Hey, there's a takoyaki shop just down the block. We can grab some there."

Kitsune:

"Takoyaki's got protein, right? Shouldn't be too bad for you, health-conscious girl."

Yuki didn't argue. She could justify it. Takoyaki was a good choice, right? Besides, her stomach was practically screaming at her.

---

Yuki (nodding):

"Yeah, let's go there. I've read that Takoyaki has some protein, so it should work for today."

---

Takoyaki: A Protein Source?

Takoyaki is made from a mixture of batter, octopus, and sometimes other seafood ingredients, making it a good source of protein. The octopus, being a lean protein source, provides a decent amount of nutrients without the added fat content found in other fried foods. Paired with the batter and any additional toppings, Takoyaki can be a tasty and relatively balanced option—when consumed in moderation.

---

After grabbing some warm takoyaki, Yuki, Taiyo, and Kitsune found a small bench outside and settled down to eat. Kitsune's gyaru crew had scattered, giving them some space after the intense moments at school, but Yuki was still processing the craziness of the day. She never expected to be caught up in a schoolyard brawl, and now, this whole mewing thing was about to follow her for who knew how long.

But, in the strange world of high school drama and viral trends, it seemed like nothing was predictable anymore.

---

Kitsune (laughing):

"So... Sigma face is your new signature move, huh?"

Yuki (groaning):

"I don't know how it happened, but I'll never live this down."

Taiyo (grinning):

"Don't worry, Yuki. It's just another day in the life of a school idol."

And with that, the group ate in peace, though Yuki's mind was already spiraling with the possibilities of what tomorrow would bring. Would everyone still be mimicking her face? Or was it just a passing trend? Either way, it seemed like she was in for a wild ride in her school life—one that had just gotten a whole lot stranger.
