Chapter 3
A few hours later, Ayane walked out from her room and saw Sora sleeping on the couch without a blanket. Ayane goes into Sora's bedroom and grabs a blanket. Ayane looks around the room to see that Sora's room is very decorative. Ayane looks at the ceiling revealing glowing star stickers over Sora's bed, and moons and more stars painted on her walls.
"She's very fond of space I see.. I wonder how long this took her.." Ayane said, smiling to herself in awe. Ayane then turns around and looks at the floor then sees a pair of feet standing in the doorway. She slowly looks upward in terror to see Sora standing in the doorway, but something wasn't right.
"Sora?.." Ayane said with a curious and concerned look. Sora was sleepwalking! Sora then slowly but surely stumbled over to her bed, and pulled covers that weren't there onto herself. Since Ayane had the covers she decided to give them to her so Sora could rest peacefully. Ayane walks out of Sora's room and glances at her one last time before closing the door.
"That was scary." Ayane exclaimed, letting a long exhale of relief. Ayane then stood in a thinking position outside of Sora's door and started thinking about what she should do now. She couldn't find anything to do besides clean, cook, or watch Television. Ayane decided to turn on the Television in the living room, and plopped down on the sofa.
"Ahhh.. Man, I haven't sat down on a couch since I got here.." Ayane uttered.
Ayane watched Television for a couple of hours. Sora's bedroom door opens, and Sora emerges out of her bedroom. Sora rubs her eyes a couple of times before speaking to Ayane.
"Oh hey Ayane.. Whachya watchin'?.." Sora said with a sleepy and subtle tone.
"Nothing, just watching some Television. It's a cooking show!"
"Cooking?.. I didn't know you like that sorta thing.."
"I don't really— I'm not really a good cook, but I wanna learn!"
"You don't know how to cook Ayane?.."
"No I do not.. My mother never taught me anything like that when I was growing up so I have no prior knowledge in doing so.."
"I see.." Sora and Ayane both had a moment of silence. Then Sora thought about what she saw earlier with what happened in Ayane's room. Sora then began to feel bad. Sora then raised her head and looked at Ayane. Ayane looking concentrated, Sora then speaks up.
"If you want Ayane I could teach you how to cook.."
"W-Wait really?.."
"Yeah of course, you said you don't have any prior knowledge of the cooking handbook whatsoever.. So I feel like it is a testament of our friendship and the beginning of our journey together in college.. I'll show you how to cook.. You can't live off of school food forever you know.."
"That.. WOULD BE AMAZING THANK YOU SO MUCH!!" Ayane wrapped her arms around Sora mixed with a tight but gentle embrace. Sora began to blush a little as she hugged Ayane back. Not having this much affection from another person before Sora began to feel like she had a bit more determination to keep going in college.
"When do we start?!"
"Whenever you want to start.." After the short and brief conversation Ayane stood up with a look of determination. Sora looked up at her in awe and smiled at her excitement.
"Alright let's go to the kitchen then.."
"Alright!" Sora and Ayane both walked to the kitchen. Their feet smacking the kitchen floor in unison. As Sora gets down a few pots and pans. Sora then opens the fridge to see almost nothing in there whatsoever.
"That might be an issue-.." Sora said, sucking in air through her teeth before her statement.
"Oh no we don't have any food to cook" Ayane exclaimed.
Sora sat there for a moment trying to think of what she could do. She stood up and turned around looking Ayane in the eyes.
"I don't know if we can-....." Sora cut off her sentence. She thought about what Ayane said to her. That her mother never taught her how to cook. Sora remembered how despondent she looked. Ayane tilted her head in confusion waiting for Sora to finish her sentence. Ayane was confused.
'What could be going through her pretty little head right now.' Ayane thought, looking at Sora with her head tilted sideways, Sora then abolished her previous sentence and began a new one.
"How would you like to stop at the store Ayane?.." Sora said looking at Ayane with a sweet soothing smile. Ayane's eyes glistened full of tears as she swiftly wrapped her
arms around Sora bouncing up and down ecstatically.
"YOU'RE THE BEST SORA!!"
"Th-Thank you.." Sora hugs Ayane back, blushing a little. Sora then took a huff in through her nose taking in Ayane's sent. She smelled amazing, like a new bottle of freshly opened honey. Ayane stopped bouncing and unwrapped her arms from around Sora and let her breath.
"What kind of shampoo do you use Ayane..? It smells good.."
"M-My shampoo? I-It's Honey Nut.." Ayane said fidgeting with her hair and covering her face nervously with it a moment later. Both of them looked at each other and blushed.
"U-Uhm I'm gonna get my shoes on!.."
"Y-Yeah good Idea!.." They both turned around awkwardly and ran to the opposite sides of the house where their rooms were segregated. They both closed their doors and stood behind them and put their hands on their own chests. Feeling their hearts race at the encounter they had just had with each other. Ayane took a deep breath, and Sora took a deep breath. They both put on their shoes and jackets and walked out of their rooms in unison.
"A-Are you ready to go Ayane?.."
"U-Uhm yes I am.." Still nervous from the interaction from earlier they struggled to get their words out. Sora then took another deep breath and Ayane walked towards the door. Sora opened the door for Ayane letting her walk through first.
"Oh, thank you!" Ayane said, having a sudden mood switch. Sora seemed quite startled by the sudden change in personality, but she just smiled.
"No problem, Ayane. Hey if I fall asleep in the store standing up just wake me up, ok?.."
"Oh- Uhm okay!" After their short conversation Sora locked the door behind them and closed it, and to the store they went.
