"It's time; I've gathered enough Alpha Energy for this battle," Lucas said, with a smile on his face.
He looked around the tower and saw stairs leading to the top. "They really put in some work building this tower, but climbing up would be stressful. So why put the stairs when they could just swim upward? That's kind of silly. Oh, taking a closer look, I see that the stairs were needed to divide the tower into layers, just like those on the surface," Lucas said.
Lucas bent his knees and stretched his body. "Now that's more like it." In an instant, he ran up the stairs, passing through the layers of the temple one by one. On his way up, he saw the citizens of the kingdom on each layer.
Lucas finally arrived at the top of the tower and was left speechless at the sight of the battle. It was so intense that he could see many of Marl's soldiers lying dead. He saw that Marl's army was being defeated.
While Lucas was scanning the area, he spotted Lava standing above Marl, with his leg pinning Marl to the ground, ready to swing his axe down at Marl's neck.
"Hmm, he's lucky he agreed to my request. My body is flowing with energy, and I want to try something new. Million Lasers!" Lucas screamed.
Millions of lasers shot out from Lucas's body, heading in different directions on the battlefield. The lasers hit Lava's enormous ships, cutting through them instantly, causing them to explode and fall to the ocean floor. The lasers continued to rain down on the battlefield, creating deep craters and scattering dirt all over the area.
"That should turn the tables," Lucas said, leaping down from the tower at incredible speed, heading straight for Lava.
"What! How is this possible? How did you destroy my ships, and what is that enormous power?" Lava yelled.
"Hmph, did you really think you'd win this battle? Not today, Lava, not today," Marl said, still spitting blood from his mouth.
Just as Marl finished speaking, Lucas crashed into Lava with a punch that sent him sliding across the ocean floor.
"You came... I thought you had left," Marl said.
"A deal is a deal, Marl. Besides, I can't leave when I see someone in need of my help. Are you okay? If you can still walk, take cover. It's about to get tough," Lucas replied. "I'll kick this guy's ass."
Marl struggled to get up, but his injuries were worse than he thought. His soldiers saw him struggling and immediately came to his aid, carrying him back to the tower.
Lava slowly emerged from the rubble, unfazed by Lucas's strength. He was rather eager to defeat Lucas and claim this power for himself.
"So much power from just one punch. I've never seen anyone possess such power except the Kronians, royal blood at that. Are you a Kronian?" Lava asked.
"What if I am?" Lucas replied.
"Then your power will be mine!" Lava shouted.
Lava dashed forward, cutting through the water with his axes and creating a sharp line that could slice through objects. But Lucas was fast; he dodged the attack and shot a laser from his palm. The laser hit Lava on the chest, sending him crashing into the wreckage of his ship.
Lucas walked toward Lava slowly, each step making a thud sound. "Now tell me, why do you want this power?" Lucas asked.
"Stop asking silly questions, you fool! When your father helped these creatures evolve by giving them life, I was left behind, having to taste only the remnants of this power. I and my people lived under the earth and mountains, boiling with lava. If the remnants of this power can sustain me and make me this strong, why shouldn't I get stronger by having a taste of life itself?
Not only that, son of Elvis, I also intend to rule this world! I intend to spread my kingdom even into human territories! Now tell me, how am I supposed to do that without life, huh?" Lava said. "And don't think you can stop me! I'll take all the life my body can hold, and I'll rule!!" Lava said, laughing loudly.
"That doesn't seem interesting. And has anyone told you, you're so loud?!" Lucas said, leaping off the ocean floor and slamming his fist against Lava's face. "Now you've done it," Lava said.
Lava swung his axes one after another, but Lucas dodged each of his attacks. Lava took some steps back and charged in again.
"He's faster than I am. The only way to land a clean hit on him will be a surprise attack, but I can see he's so focused that he won't even take his eyes off me for a second. I guess he sees me as a bigger threat, or he's just very passionate about protecting the helpless," Lava thought.
When Lava was close to Lucas, he raised one axe above his head and swung it down with all his might, but Lucas was ready to go all out. He blocked the attack with his arms crossed together, cloaked in Alpha Energy, rendering Lava's attack meaningless. But Lava wasn't done.
With the axe in his other hand, he swung it upward from below Lucas, cutting from his jaw to the top of his head. "You bastard!" Lucas screamed.
Lucas's body flowed with Alpha Energy, causing the cut to heal instantly. "You're dead!" Lucas said as he shot lasers, thicker than before, from his palm. The laser blast hit Lava on the shoulder, cutting off one of his arms.
"Argh!" Lava screamed. "If he fires another laser at me, I'm dead. And I can't fight with one arm either. I was no match for him when I had two arms, and now he has cut off one. The best thing I can do now is retreat, but I promise I'll be back, Kronian!" Lava thought.
"Retreat! Retreat!" Lava's voice boomed across the battlefield. Immediately after the command was given, Lava's men started retreating, carrying their injured comrades into red portals they created.
Lava stood and stared at Lucas. "You might have won this battle today, but I'll be back, and that's a promise," Lava said.
"I'll be waiting," Lucas replied. Lava stepped into his own portal as it closed behind him.
"Yahhh! Yahhh!" Marl's army screamed in victory.
"This was a tough fight. I'll be waiting for your return, Lava. You'll help me get stronger without even knowing it," Lucas thought as he turned and walked back into the tower.
