In the depths of the dark tunnel, accompanied by piercing roars, countless flashes of sword light flickered, and one vampire after another fell to the ground.
Casually twisting off a vampire's head, John looked toward the narrow cave, a smile playing on his lips.
...
Roar!
The vampire had no time to struggle as three spears simultaneously pierced its chest, neck, and head.
Ephraim pulled out his spear, stumbling slightly, still not used to wielding it. Vasiliy, however, was much more skilled, elegantly flicking the blood off his spear, impressing Dutch who watched with shining eyes.
Nora stayed in the middle of the group, holding a shield and occasionally stepping forward to block attacks from the flesh tendrils. In a short time, their coordination had improved significantly.
"Eichhorst?"
The low voice echoed in the empty cave.
Abraham stared intently at the darkness ahead, gripping his silver sword tightly. He could smell that familiar, decaying odor.
"Abraham, the Master has spared you time and again. Didn't expect you'd be like a hyena, coming to harm your friends again?"
Eichhorst's lips curled into a sinister smile, his cold eyes scanning Abraham's side. Not seeing the familiar figure, his tense heart relaxed, replaced by a predatory gaze.
Clang!
The sword instantly left its sheath as Abraham lunged forward, slashing at Eichhorst.
A blur of movement and a tendril swiftly shot towards Abraham. Fortunately, Vasiliy pulled him aside just in time.
The grotesque tendril oozed an unknown liquid as it brushed past them.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The cave was suddenly filled with flashes of fire as Ephraim pulled out a gun, wildly firing at Eichhorst!
Roar!
Eichhorst snarled, retracting his tendrils and stumbling into the dark cave. Bullets ricocheted off the walls as he fell and got up, frantically fleeing deeper into the tunnel.
He never expected these people to have guns and not use them until now, seemingly waiting for him, or rather, the Master!
His face twisted in pain as the silver bullets burned his flesh like branding irons.
Silver bullets!
Eichhorst's fear grew as he ran towards his master. Behind him, Abraham and the others were once again surrounded by vampires. With the UV lamp lighting the cave, the vampires recoiled like frightened beasts.
Anxiously, Abraham charged after Eichhorst, with Ephraim and the others close behind. Hearing the commotion behind him, Eichhorst gritted his teeth. As he was about to enter the Master's lair, a commanding voice filled his mind.
His eyes glowed red as he received the Master's message, then he veered into a narrow cave.
Abraham and the others arrived at Eichhorst's previous position. The UV light revealed traces of white blood leading into the narrow cave. Abraham prepared to follow.
At that moment, a low growl echoed from another tunnel, followed by countless hisses. The Master was summoning the hidden vampires!
Abraham hesitated, his hatred for Eichhorst paling in comparison to his desire to kill the Master.
Roar!
The powerful roar shook the cave. Everyone felt a jolt of pain in their heads. Abraham clutched his head, watching out of the corner of his eye as vampires approached.
The group huddled together, shields raised, unable to counterattack due to the mental assault.
The ground trembled as the Master's eerie growl reverberated through the tunnels.
Just as they were about to collapse, the monstrous roar ceased. The group regained their senses and quickly took up their spears. The surrounding vampires were swiftly killed, their white blood splattering the cave walls.
The UV lamp's purple glow kept the approaching vampires at bay as Abraham charged towards the Master's roar, with Ephraim and the others following closely.
Drip!
Water dripped from the cave ceiling into a small pool as Abraham cautiously entered the cavern. He immediately noticed the ancient stone coffin in the center.
Ephraim and the others, faces grim, followed. They had only heard of the Master from Abraham and had never seen it.
Thinking of Eichhorst's strength, they were on high alert. If Eichhorst was terrifying, how much worse would his master be?
Holding his silver sword, Abraham approached the coffin with a heavy heart.
Bang!
In an instant, a massive figure leaped from the coffin. Abraham swung his sword at the attacking shadow, but the Master knocked him back with a powerful blow, sending him flying.
The Master, cloaked in darkness, lunged at Ephraim and the others, who quickly lit the UV lamp. The Master appeared before Vasiliy, the lamp's holder, tendrils aiming for his neck.
"Fuck!"
Ephraim and the others thrust their spears in a panic while Vasiliy tried to dodge. The tendrils continued their deadly trajectory. At the last second, a blur of movement and a flash of a sword severed the tendrils.
The Master, with crimson eyes, glared at the man now protecting Vasiliy.
With lightning speed, John kicked the Master in the chest, sending him flying. John then hurled his sword, pinning the Master to the wall.
Roar!
The Master's deafening roar filled the cavern, white blood gushing from its mouth. Abraham and the others covered their ears, writhing in pain.
Yet, one person calmly approached the Master.
"You!"
The Master's eyes widened in shock. The severed tendrils grew back, striking at John, who dodged and slashed at the Master's head.
The Master turned into a blur, fleeing as John chased him.
With the Master's roar ceased, Abraham and the others recovered. Abraham stood, watching John with excitement.
"We must kill him!"
His aged voice echoed through the cave.
In a factory in Red Hook, the sewer cover clanged loudly. Stoneheart security guards looked on in surprise, guns ready, as the cover, secured with a special device, rattled.
A roar echoed from the sewer, and the guards exchanged uneasy glances.
Inside the sewer, the Master collapsed, white blood flowing from its mouth. The tendrils had been severed again by John.
"Roar!"
"Deprivation!"
An invisible force enveloped the Master's body.
