Smeargle's eyes darted around the chaotic battlefield as he took in the sight of Charizard, Lapras, Mamoswine, and Ninetales who were previously engaged in fierce combat. Natsu and Gray—who were on the verge of clashing themselves—were visibly surprised as their Pokémon suddenly turned hostile toward Smeargle. Without warning, Charizard unleashed a massive burst of flame in a full-blown Flamethrower, and almost simultaneously, Ninetales followed suit, its own Flamethrower spewing torrents of fire.
Smeargle simply tched, raising one paw as if to say, *Not today.* In a flash, he activated Protect; a shimmering barrier materialized around him and absorbed the combined onslaught of the flames. Then, as if vanishing into thin air, Smeargle disappeared—only to reappear right in front of Charizard. Using Quick Attack, his body blurred, and, covered in a sudden surge of water, he slammed into Charizard with a forceful Aqua Jet!
Charizard was sent hurtling backward, its momentum causing it to stagger in mid-air as it struggled to regain balance.
Natsu barked out, "Charizard, get a hold of yourself!" while Gray, with a steely glare, ordered, "Mamoswine, use Ice Fang!" Mamoswine charged forward, but as it neared, Smeargle's eyes narrowed and he activated Psychic. The force of Smeargle's mental attack halted Mamoswine in its tracks; the proud beast paused, clearly taken aback.
Not missing a beat, Natsu roared, "Ninetales, Fire Blast now!" However, Smeargle was unfazed. He simply tossed Mamoswine aside as if it were nothing—chucking it toward the incoming Fire Blast. The force of the flames struck Mamoswine squarely, causing it to cry out in pain.
Amidst the chaos, Gray and Natsu began bickering furiously over their Pokémon's performance. Their heated arguments filled the air even as Smeargle, undeterred, used Quick Attack once again to dodge Ninetails onslaught of flamethrower. In the blink of an eye, he reappeared right before Lapras. Without warning, Smeargle slammed his hand down onto Lapras, and at that very moment, giant vines erupted from the ground. These thick, twisting vines snaked around Lapras, encasing it tightly as Smeargle unleashed a devastating Frenzy Plant!
Not yet finished, Smeargle activated Fly and soared toward Charizard, which was coming down from its earlier fall while still spewing flames with another Flamethrower. Smeargle expertly dodged the scorching stream and closed in on Charizard. Suddenly, lightning sparked around Smeargle's form, and just then, a bolt of Thunder struck directly down onto Charizard. Charizard screamed in agony as the powerful electricity seared through its body, and it tumbled to the ground.
Meanwhile, Smeargle continued his aerial maneuvers, using a combination of Fly and Quick Attack to nimbly weave through the chaos. Dodging both Ninetales' relentless Flamethrower and Mamoswine's potent Ice Beam, Smeargle paused for a moment—cupping his hands together. A ball of Normal-type energy formed steadily in his grasp.
For several heartbeats, he dodged and weaved, then suddenly, with a fierce howl, he hurled a Hyper Beam from his hands. The energy beam blazed forth, striking Charizard and Lapras directly and knocking both out cold. The beam continued its rampage, hitting Ninetales and Mamoswine as well, causing them to reel in pain. Their trainers' bickering fell silent as shock and panic spread across their faces.
Seizing the momentum, Smeargle darted toward the cluster of trainers. He reappeared behind Natsu and Gray, clutching a move—Cut—in his tiny hands. With one swift motion, he slashed at the orange and yellow PokéBlocks, reducing them to scrap.
The announcer's voice boomed over the speakers, "Team Yellow and Team Orange are out!" Natsu and Gray's faces fell as they realized they had lost their match.
Now, only Ace Drago and Joey Wheeler remained in the tournament. Ace grinned broadly, while Joey's face twisted in panic as Smeargle swooped back toward Ace.
Across the battlefield, Elekid—covered in crackling lightning—released a massive Thunderbolt that slammed into Fearow, making it cry out in pain. Amidst the chaos, a swirling Fire Spin erupted around Elekid, its searing flames causing it some discomfort, but the little Electric Pokémon seemed undeterred as it shone with a brilliant light.
The audience, along with Joey and Ace, looked on in astonishment. Ace's heart pounded as he thought, 'Finally, Elekid is evolving!' The light gradually died down, revealing Electabuzz standing proudly on the field. The remnants of Fire Spin faded away as Electabuzz was now enveloped in a fierce aura of lightning.
Electabuzz roared as it gathered power and unleashed a colossal Thunder that streaked across the arena, striking Fearow and knocking it out.
Joey panicked and shouted, "Charmander, use Flamethrower!" But Ace quickly interjected, his voice firm, "Play time is over!"
Joey's eyes widened in a mix of fury and disbelief as he muttered to himself, 'I swear I've heard that phrase before… every time I lose.'
Ace then turned his attention to Electabuzz. "Electabuzz, Thunderbolt now!" he commanded. Electabuzz charged up and released a brilliant Thunderbolt that hit Charmander, sending it into unconsciousness.
The announcer's voice boomed, "Both of Joey's Pokémon are knocked out! Joey Wheeler is automatically eliminated! And the winner of the Pokémon Battle and Games Tournament is... Ace Drago!"
The crowd exploded with cheers, the excitement reaching fever pitch as Ace's girls—Serena, May, and Dawn—waved their pom-poms and chanted his name.
Ace beamed, stepping forward and patting Electabuzz on the shoulder. Electabuzz smirked happily while engaging in a quiet exchange with Smeargle.
Ace pulled out his Pokédex and scanned Electabuzz.

Ace's smiled as he noted that Electabuzz had learned three new moves. He raised a hand to wave at the cheering audience below, his photo now splashed across the tournament screen alongside his Pokémon.
The scene then shifted to a nearby building where a dark figure observed everything from above. Red, masked and enigmatic, stood atop the building with intense eyes as he watched Ace and his Smeargle with interest. Slowly, he retrieved a Pokéball from his pocket and tossed it; a Charizard, easily three times the size of a normal one, burst forth. The raw pressure radiating from this colossal Charizard was enough to make even champion-level or low-tier legendary Pokémon think twice before challenging it.
Red climbed onto the giant Charizard's back, his gaze narrowing as he muttered quietly, "Interesting..."
