The room fell silent as everyone focused on their food, creating an awkward atmosphere. Dylan decided to break the tension.
"The food is really nice, babe," Dylan blurted out, looking at Barbie. Barbie glanced up and gave Cassie a confused look.
"Thanks," Barbie nervously replied to Dylan. She noticed that Mark looked annoyed when Dylan called her "babe."
"You're welcome, 'babe,'" Dylan emphasized, making Mark grind his teeth. Cassie coughed, sensing the tension.
"So, uh, how have you guys been doing lately?" Cassie stammered, unsure of what to say.
"Fine," Mark simply stated, his expression devoid of emotion.
"Well, things have been really boring for me lately," Dylan whined.
"Yeah, me too," Barbie chimed in, catching Mark's attention.
"Aw, we should hang out together sometime," Dylan suggested to Barbie with a wink. Dylan glanced at Mark, who was visibly trying to contain himself.
