I wandered around the tribe until I found Rina and Seraph, I wanted to take them on a hunt.
I wanted to go to the same hunting ground as last time, hopefully we would find some bears and other high XP species.
After a few minutes, we found a group of medium-sized wolves and a small bear.
Gradually we moved deeper into the forest to find a higher density and level of creatures.
Suddenly something caught my attention, there were many signs of people passing by, considering the surrounding tribes have other hunting grounds and our tribe had not sent expeditions into the forest for a long time it was strange.
My instincts told me something was wrong until I noticed a fast arrow coming towards me, I quickly jumped to my right and escaped with a small scratch on my shoulder.
Seraph and Rina were alarmed to see the arrow almost hit me.
"Run!" I said to Seraph and Rina, where the arrow came from I could see at least a dozen humans coming towards us.
It didn't take a genius to work out that some human kingdom had had enough of the tribes and sent a small army to wipe them out.
It's a fairly common occurrence and happens every few years, with at least 5 or 6 tribes disappearing each time.
Looks like it's our turn this time,' I thought to myself, smiling helplessly.
We ran for at least a minute until we reached the river.
I grabbed Rina and started using water magic to glide through the water, while Seraph did the same to me.
After a few minutes we lost them. It's not that they didn't have water magic, but they'd have to split up and be vulnerable, and they didn't know where this river was taking them.
We were going against the river to get as far away from the tribe as possible, at least today we should be hiding far away.
"We need to find a cave to hide in," I said to Seraph and Rina, we split up to look for a cave, but in less than a minute I heard Rina shout, "Here! Behind the waterfall".
From the side I could see through a small crack that there was space behind the waterfall.
Using our water magic, we opened a small hole in the corner of the waterfall before jumping in.
The first thing we found was a narrow hole, just big enough for 3 people to get through, but high up, almost halfway down the waterfall.
We walked for a few minutes until we reached a wider part of the cave.
It was extremely large for a cave, in the middle there was a small lake formed by water seeping through the cracks in the stone and dripping down the sharp stalactites, it was a real sight to behold.
In the middle of the lake there was a small rock sticking out, but that was not the most surprising thing, the most remarkable thing was the body that was there.
We approached it and saw that it was a pile of bones, but of a deep red colour, bordering on chestnut.
We quickly found a diary, there was only one page written.
Rina grabbed it before reading what was written.
"My name is Jack Mason, as you can see I am a corpse. In my time I was a mighty warrior of the mystic arts of the fist. With this technique, I was able to reach the pinnacle of the mystic arts, reaching level 700. Unfortunately, some people who were jealous of my technique and power got angry and hurt me badly. Before I died, I enchanted my body with the technique and legacy, and the first person to touch my body after my death will inherit my Mystic Arts Fist Technique, and I will reshape their body to match this powerful technique. Make no mistake, you need a magical element to use it, without it do not touch my body unless you are a magician or wish to accompany me to my death.
Jack Mason".
"Can we trust what he says?" asked Rina.
"Yes. If he really was level 700, he would want to leave a legacy, if it's just a joke and he didn't make it that high, I doubt he had the ability to use any dangerous magic on his bones," I replied.
"Brother, touch his bones, Seraph has his scepter, I'll use the sword, you though you use dagger and bow, you've been thinking about changing weapons, this is a valuable opportunity".
I thought for a few seconds, knowing my sister was right, and sat down in front of the corpse before reaching out to grab the bone that was his head.
At that moment I felt as if my consciousness was being stretched out of my body.
I appeared in a sort of white room, a helpless giant of 20 feet in front of me.
"Welcome, young man," a deep voice said.
For a moment I thought it was the giant, but I didn't see his mouth move.
"I assume you are here to learn my technique."
I nodded.
"The mystic arts are the evolution of the use of mana on the body or weapons, for example I'm sure you've infused a weapon with mana to increase its power, speed or sharpness. The mystical arts are the next level up. When you infuse mana, you know that you are using your own mana, with the mana of the world. This is how magic works and can be used to imbue weapons or yourself with mana, but if you want to use your fighting ability against high level mages like 200, 300 or more, this method is outdated and useless. Mythic arts use only the internal mana, giving it complex patterns to enhance or modify its properties, similar to sorcery. My technique, the Mystic Art of the Elemental Fist, is a technique that goes further, it also uses external mana to infuse mana from your element into the fist. In your case, water mana," the mysterious voice said.
I nodded, understanding all the new knowledge, I already knew about the mystic arts from Seraph, he said there were classes that specialised in mystic arts, but I didn't know how it worked.
"This technique has two parts, the first one is able to imbue your fists with your internal mana following the pattern I will give you, in this part, this technique is no different from a common one. The difficulty comes in the part of imbuing the elemental mana from the outside. When you touch my body, you will receive all the knowledge of my technique along with a small enhancement to your body to make it easier for you to learn," said the voice, who did not speak again.
I reached out and did as the voice said, stretched out my hand, touched his big foot and felt a great amount of knowledge entering my mind.
The next moment, I was back in the cave with Rina and Seraph.
"Are you okay?" they asked at the same time.
"Yes, better than ever" I replied confidently knowing that this powerful technique would revolutionise my fighting ability.
