The group gathered their courage and approached the portal their wepons ready. With a deep breath the teacher stepped through first followed closely by William and the rest of the survivors. They felt a strange sensation as they walked through the portal, when they emerged on the other side they found themselves in a dimly lit cave
Torches lined the walls casting flickering shadows that danced eerily around them. The cave seem normal at first glance, with rough stone walls and a damp musty smell. But there was an unsettling aura about the place, it gave them a sense of impending danger that kept them on edge
"Stay alert" William whispered leading the group further into the cave
They moved cautiously, their footsteps echoing softly against the moist stone. The tunnel twisted and turned, leading them deeper and deeper into the dark cave. After a few tense minutes the tunnel opened up into a large open room.
On the far side of the cave stood a towering figure, a three meter tall green ogre with large tusks holding a massive wooden club. The ogres eyes glowed with a malevolent blue light, as it spotted the group it let out a low rumbling growl
"It's the boss" William muttered under his breath, tightening his grip on his sword
The ogre began to walk slowly toward them, it's heavy footsteps reverberating through the cave. As it drew closer, it started to chant in a deep, guttural voice. The words of the spell echoed off the walls, and the ogre's wooden club suddenly burst into blue flames.
"Everyone, throw your knives!" William shouted.
The group hurled their knives at the ogre, but most of them either missed or barely scratched its thick skin. The ogre roared in anger, swinging its flaming club at the group. The massive weapon whooshed through the air, barely missing William. He felt the heat of the blue flames as they passed by him, but to his surprise, they didn't burn him as much as he had feared.
"Spread out and keep attacking!" William commanded, trying to stay calm.
The group fanned out, each person looking for an opportunity to strike. Ethan used his spear to jab at the ogre's legs, trying to slow it down. Mark and the others with swords moved in from the sides, aiming for weak spots in its defense.
William darted in and out, his sword flashing as he struck at the ogre's legs. The ogre swung its club wildly, the blue flames casting eerie shadows on the walls. Every time the club came close, William felt a surge of heat, but the flames never seemed to burn him fully. He realized that the magic power the ogre was using was not as powerful as it seemed.
"Mark, Ethan, flank it! We need to find a weak spot!" William ordered.
Mark and Ethan moved quickly, darting to the sides while William kept the ogre's attention focused on him. The ogre roared in frustration, swinging its club at William as he dodged the attacks. The blue flames flowed through the air creating bursts of light
The group saw their chance. With the ogre momentarily distracted by William one of the teachers rushed forward aiming for a spot just below its ribs. His sword sinking deep into the ogres flesh The creature bellowed in pain, staggering back
"Keep it up!" We're hurting it!" William yelled adrenaline pumping through his veins
The ogre suddenly swung his club at the teacher that struck him in the ribs, hitting the teacher with the flaming club catching the teacher on fire
The teacher screams echoed through the cave. The group redoubled their efforts not wanting to be killed by the ogre Ethan's spear found its mark, piercing the ogre's thigh and causing it to stumble. Mark's sword slashed at its arm, forcing it to drop the club. The flaming weapon clattered to the ground, its blue flames flickering out.
The ogre, now weaponless and bleeding from multiple wounds, let out a final, desperate roar. It charged at William, its massive hands reaching for him. William stood his ground, waiting until the last possible moment before diving under its grasp
William stood up as quickly as possible raising his sword driving his sword into the ogre's heart. The creature froze, its eyes wide with shock. Then, with a shuddering gasp, it collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
The cave fell silent, William pulled his sword free and looked around at his classmates and teachers. They were battered and bruised, but alive. They had done it.
"We did it," William said, his voice trembling with relief and exhaustion. "We killed the Boss."
The group let out a collective cheer, their voices echoing through the cave. They had faced unimaginable horrors and come out victorious. Now, with the Boss defeated, they could finally find a way out of this nightmare.
A system prompt flashed in front of all of them
