Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

"Where am I?" Asked Lucas half asleep, waking up from his long sleep. "You're really starting to worry me with these "experiments" you do out in the woods." Said Lucas's mother in a very disstressed tone. "It's dangerous enough as is, why do you have to make it worse?" She was now on the verge of crying. "Mother, don't speak nonsense there are no dangerous animals in this area, even if there was I could defend myself, you saw what I could do haven't you." Lucas said trying to comfort his mother.

"Yes, but I also saw how you were collapsed from it." She changed her tone very quickly. "There is no use in trying to prove that you don't need elemental magic, if you are just going to put yourself in danger while doing so." Lucas, annoyed, sits up in the bed, ready to head back to experiment and master his "Explosive Ice Bullet" spell. There is no way to stop a scientist if they set a goal.

He hopped out of bed and headed straight into the kitchen for food. Sleeping for almost a whole day is exhausting.

After eating he went for the door immediately. "Where do you think you're going, young man?" Said Lucas's mother in a rather annoyed tone. Lucas tried to quickly pick up his bag and fly out the door. Unfortunately his mother was too good at plant magic. She grabbed his ankle with vines comeing out of the ground.

Lucas fell to the ground. And his mother yelled. "You're not going anywhere, anytime soon." He knew he was in trouble. He was dragged back into the house. "You are grounded! And consider yourself lucky your father isn't home." Chills ran along Lucas's spine when thinking of how his dad would've punished him.

He sadly stumbled back into hus room. This might not be a good time for practical experiments, but this was a perfect time for theory. He could spend time perfecting some flaws. Thinking about this he remembered. "Mooom, do you know ice magic?" Yelled Lucas to his mother in the kitchen.

"Only a little, why?" She came in the room. "Can you just make a little ice sphere for me?" Asked Lucas like he had done nothing just now. "I mean sure, I don't know wha you're planning on doing but don't explode the house." She conjured a shere about 5 centimeters in diameter, it was a bit uneven but it was perfect for Lucas. "Thanks a bunch mom!"

Lucas looked at it held it and than used his short range observation to look at the molecular structure. It was almost as a diamond's chrystal structure. The molecules moved so slowly even him could barely sense it. They would not speed by anything, only Lucas's manual input. "How could this be?" He mumbled to himself while thinking some more. "Would an expert's ice be at absolute zero?" Theories can only take one so far. But he had not the resources to study it in person.

After looking at the ice more he conjured his own water sphere. This time he made it smaller so he had less mikecules to focus on at once. His gial was to conoletely stop the molecules from moving.

This would require complete focus and no interruption from the outside world. He transformed his water sphere into his usual ice sphere, than he started to slow down the molecules in portions. This would take long, but he had time and devotion. He had succeded with the first batch in a few hours. He has reached absolute zero, by completely stopping the movement of molecules. Just a small portion reaching absolute zero was enough to keep the ball mostly frozen, but the overall integrity of the regular ice remained weak.

He never tought even reaching absolute zero was possible, but it somehow remained in that state for long. But he could not stop now. He had to continue. He once again lifted the orb into the air and started slowing the next batch.

It went smoothly right until Lucas's mother burst into his room. "SONNY! I have good news." At thus moment Luca slost focus over the ball resulting in it becoming unstable, the once completely still molecules suddenly started to bounce around creating high pressure steam. This made the ice orb burst out with sharp fragments. The steam wasn't hot enought to do substantial damage. But the fragments were like hundrends of tiny blades flying everywhere.

Lucas created a shield in front of his mother, it wasn't enough to cover him, resulting in shallow but still severe papercuts. "Lucas! Are you alright? Does it hurt?" Lucas &5 control over their body. However not many people tought about using it on themselves to ease pain. És--&&&6&66&66g&

It was useful but that didn't stop the bleeding. His mother tried to use healing magic but the wounds were infected with Flow, making the healing magic less effective. Lucas's mother rushed to get the bandages while Lucas tried his best to control the pain but it was nowhere near unnoticable.

Lucas's mother got back and wrapped him up. Covering both his arms and torso. "I told you not to do anything dangerous!" Lucas became annoyed, since the experiment was harmless, him getting interupted made it dangerous. "It wasn't dangerous until you distracted me." He rolled his eyes at his mother. "Anyways what were the good news, you were so eager to tell me?"

"You got accepted into Gale Wind Magic Academy. You father will be so proud of you." Lucas stood there in shock. "How could I be accepted into an academy that exclusively teaches wind mages. I can't even use wind magic." What has his mother gotten him into now. "Well your father might have pulled some strings to get you in."

"What do you mean, I never wanted to go to an academy, why are you doing this to me? What will I do when I have to perform magic." His mother has not tought of that previously. "I'm sure figure something out, you're smart enough."

Lucas had to come up with a way to imitate air magic.
