Chapter 2 - The new world [1]

Eric woke up from his slumber and looked at the ceiling above him. It was a luxurious ceiling with a classic design. He found himself alive and unharmed. The bedroom he woke up in was large and elegant, with every ornament gilded in gold, silver, or diamonds, reminiscent of a medieval king's quarters.

He felt both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time.

"Ugh..."

His head began to ache again as he recalled a memory of someone he didn't know. He held his head with his hand and focused on the memory emerging in his mind.

Nothing was interesting in the memory; everything was just bleak from the perspective of the memory's owner.

"Ash von Agnus."

That was his name. Since birth, only two person has cared for him. It was his servants, Jenny and Butler Ron.

Ash was neglected by his family because he didn't fulfill his responsibilities as the first prince and shirked his training, deeming him incompetent and talentless.

However, as a prince, he still received education to learn reading and writing and to acquire knowledge about noble society.

He tried to learn how to use a sword, but the fact that he was talentless hit him hard.

He couldn't even sense mana, something a child at the age of five could do. Trainees in the field laughed at him for not being able to sense mana even at the age of eight. On top of that, he suffered from a strange illness that caused him bouts of madness.

The imperial family ruled the continent.

Being the first prince carried many expectations and responsibilities.

Ash was the epitome of incompetence in their eyes, so his existence was entirely ignored, and the imperial family looked down on him with disdain.

There was another fact: Ash's hair was black, different from his family's hair.

Everyone with the blood of the Agnus imperial family had white hair. Because of this fact, he was ignored by everyone.

Eric breathed heavily, shocked by what he saw in those memories. It was the same story he had read in "Fate Breaker."

As he pondered the memory in his head, he could remember almost everything as if he were the one who experienced it all.

Looked at his hand, which he was using to hold his head. It was small, unlike his old hand.

He hurriedly got up and looked at his body.

"I've become smaller...?"

His body had shrunk.

"No, this can't be..."

He got out of bed and ran towards the large body mirror he remembered in his memory.

"Wait, in my memory...?"

His heart began to beat faster as he thought about this. He walked slowly and stood in front of the mirror.

Looking into the mirror, there was a 9-year-old boy with black hair and red eyes that sparkled like crystals. The boy looked very beautiful.

He moved his hand and looked at the mirror. The person in the mirror did the same thing he did.

"I've become Ash...?"

He couldn't believe his situation, even though it was right in front of him.

He remembered how he had died,

"Hahahahahahaahahahhaahahahahahhahahaahahahahahhahahahahahahahaahahahahahaah..."

Eric laughed hysterically thinking about his current situation and how he had died before made him laugh for some reason.

"Ah... it's been a while since I laughed."

'A second chance, huh.'

In this world where the main character did not survive and everyone was killed by demons, he was not confident at all about living.

"Sigh..."

Eric sighed to himself, got out of bed, and walked towards the door.

"God has answered me and granted me a new life, but to send me into this crazy world."

If anyone could see his face now, they would see a terrifying, chilling smile.

"This life is going to be so much entertaining."
