Chapter 139
"That hurts," Drusilla groaned, feeling her back burn in pain. The muscles in her back screamed as she hung there for a few seconds before falling to her knees. Every breath she took snagged as she tried to crawl away from the Lycan. She shook off the burning in her back and then stood up, straining to hear anything in the forest.
Her head cocked to the left, searching for the Lycan who was now nowhere in sight. Where did it go?
Taking a heavy breath, she turned around, bumping into someone. Whining, she stumbled back, rubbing her shoulder as she stared at Aeris.
"What are you doing out here?" she asked, squinting her eyes to see Madeline behind her.
"Are you seriously asking that question right now?" Aeris asked.
"We heard your scream and came looking for you," Madeline said. "What are you doing here?"
"There are Lycans close," Drusilla replied.
