Chapter 106
Later that night, as Anastasia closed her eyes to sleep, she heard a soft whisper call her name.
"Ana."
Her entire body tensed at the voice, and she turned to see mist envelop her. She was somewhere around the desert, her eyes searching for the voice. Then she saw her—a tall woman with long black locs and brown skin. Freckles lined the upper part of her face, her amber eyes staring at her intently.
"Who are you?" Anastasia asked.
The woman clutched her neck, falling to her knees, and began to cry bloody tears. Anastasia took a step forward, but the woman raised her hand, sending a forceful blast that slammed Anastasia to the ground.
"Soon enough, I will seek my revenge on all those who have hurt me," the woman said. "Very soon."
Anastasia woke up gasping, her eyes fixed on the ceiling. She blinked a few times, pushing herself to sit on the bed, noticing Cassius sitting at the table reviewing parchments.
