"Do you think the Council will come for her if she turns out to be a siren?" Anastasia asked.
"We'll do anything to protect her from them," he replied.
"But you just said they're closer to the moon goddess," she said. "If we do anything wrong, won't the moon goddess come for us?"
"You're thinking too much," he pressed his lips against hers to silence her.
"I'm just worried."
Cassius kissed her, trying to distract her mind. Suddenly, his fangs sprang out, nibbling her lip, and he quickly pulled back.
"You haven't fed," she said.
"No," he said, leaning closer. She brushed her hair to the side, urging him to draw blood from her.
His eyes darkened, and he pierced his fangs into her skin. Her sweet blood dripped into his mouth, and he closed his eyes, savoring the taste. She cried out, moving closer to him, as he drew more of her blood.
