*Ring Ring Ring*
The continuous buzzing sound of the phone ringing echoes in the dark room.
Kelvin looked at the number and his heart trembled in fear.
He was in a state of turmoil not knowing whether to pick it or not.
"Beep," The phone beeped after he picked it.
"Good.....evening... Fa...father," Kelvin stutter trying to find the right. Words.
The other end was silent.
"You have always been a disgrace to the family," The cold and harsh tone of a man said.
The man wore an all black attire with his sharp eyes.
Hearing this, Kelvin felt as if his heart was stabbed by countless needles all at once.
He clenched his, teeth in anger.
Soon he started hearing the family voice of Leah back at the press conference.
"I know it a matter of time before he finds out," Kelvin thought bitterly.
"A mere woman manage to put you in this state effortlessly," Kelvin father Derick said as he looked at the screen which showed Leah's outstanding performance.
"Fa... Father please forgive me. I will clean up my mess. Just please give me some time," Kelvin pleaded desperately.
"Time?" Derick said as he chuckled.
"Please father, I will live up to your standards," Kelvin said.
"While you are here destroying my reputation, your brother Andrew have been bringing countless success to the company. You have proven worthless when you couldn't even manage our little branch," Derick said as he flicker his lighter lighting his cigarette.
"You have a month to deal with this. Or else....." Derick trailed as he puff out smoke and hung up.
"Thank you father," Kelvin said seeing a little ray of hope.
"It always about Andrew. He would never see me useful," Kelvin said as tears fell freely from his eyes.
All he did was to try and satisfy his father.
Every since he was little, he is forced to compete his love and attention at the age of 7. But, Kelvin always seems to have the worst luck at that.
He got engaged with Leah not because he love her but because he waved to use her to please his father.
"Why.... Why does things always goes wrong," Kelvin yelled like a maniac.
"That right, it's Leah's fault. If she hasn't changed all of a sudden things would have been perfect for me," Kelvin thought angrily.
"Leah I swear to make you suffer just like I did," Kelvin vowed with a crazy expression.
*****The next day in an unfamiliar apartment
"Ahhhh," Leah said as she got up holding her head.
"Gosh, I didn't drink. Why is my head killing me," Leah asked as she opened her eyes.
"Uhm..... Where am I?" Leah asked as her eyes scanned the room.
She looked at the unfamiliar room with her eyes scanning every details.
No one was in sight to answer her question.
"Yes....I was in the hospital..... Then Allen came. I got a bit tired and fell asleep," Leah said trying her best to remember all that happened.
"Is this Allen's room?" Leah asked inwardly.
"If this is his room, then mine should be near," Leah said as she stood up heading to her room.
"Where are you going?" Allen asked.
"Thanks for yesterday I will be heading to my...." Leah trailed off as she turned back.
"What are you doing?" She asked as she quickly turned away.
Allen was half naked with only a towel wrapped around his waist revealing so much skin.
"Uhm... Sorry, I didn't think you would wake up so early," Allen apologize.
"Forget about that.... Put on some clothes," Leah said still looking away with her face red in embarrassment.
"Uhm.. okay," Allen said said as a mischievous smile curve on his face but instantly disappeared.
"I will be going now," Leah said as she hurriedly tried to open the door.
"It locked?" Leah asked herself.
"Sorry about that, I will open it now," Allen said.
"No, stay back," Leah suddenly yelled.
"Oh my god, why am I acting this way in front of a worker. This is so embarrassing that I feeling like hiding in a hole," Leah thought with her heart pounding wildly.
"First, put on some clothes," Leah said regaining her composure.
"Sure," Allen said as he turned.
Leah found herself stealing glances at him.
"He has a handsome appearance, chiseled chin and well built muscle," Leah thought.
"But despite that he always looks meek. His eyes are always sharp as if the expression on his face are not real."
"But wait..... What the hell am I doing? Day dreaming about a man. This doesn't seem like me," Leah complained inwardly giving herself gentle slaps to stop herself.
Soon, Allen came back wearing a jean and a white T-shirt.
He headed to the door which he opened.
"I will be going now, thanks for yesterday," Leah said with a slight smile.
"Wait," Allen suddenly called making her stop in her track.
"The doctor said you should call him," Allen said.
"Oh.... I would thanks," Leah said as she hurriedly left for her room.
"Is she pretending or she still doesn't have any feelings?" Allen thought as he sat down on the bed massaging his chin.
He planned the right moment, going as far as dressing half naked but Leah didn't seem to have any connection.
"Gosh this is tiring," Allen said as he lay down on the bed.
*********Back at Leah's room********
Leah rushed in and quickly closed the door. Her heart beat fast from the running and she tried to calm herself.
"It just a coincidence. No need to take it serious," Leah thought as she took a deep breath.
"Let me call Doctor Smith first and then get back to work," Leah decided.
"But..... My bag is in Allen's room," Leah said realising.
"Why is all these happening?" She complained.
*Knock Knock Knock*
The knock on the door pulled her out of her thoughts. She walked to the door and checked the peephole.
"It him," Leah said silently.
She opened the door.
"Sorry, you forgot your bag," Allen said showing Leah the bag in his hand.
"Oh thank you," Leah said as she snatched the bag.
"Meet you at work today," Leah said.
"But it Sunday," Allen said.
"Oh sorry, my bad," Leah said awkwardly as she closed the door leaving Allen outside.
"What is wrong with her?" Allen said with a frown on his face.
