Over a week had passed now, Dharen had not really done anything in that time. But, this was not due to his own wishes. He had been practically confined to his room, so he tried to stop multiple times, even going as far as sneaking out as much as he could. But now that was impossible as they had moved him from his normal room, to one of the rooms on the top floor of his building.
No one had complained at this though, which had surprised him a lot as these top rooms were for the final year students only. And yet here he was in one such room. The quality of these rooms were also far better than the rooms which were on the lower floors.
Their room was for one person only, and it was the same size as his original room. Aside from that there was almost a small library with a collection of books from all of the academic years that were taught as well as other topics that could have been of interest to any student. There was also a small space to practise with his sword.
His life had become rather monotonous due to that. He would practise with his sword for the entire morning, from the basics to some more complex moves before practising the shadow art. This at least had been able to keep him moving. Then for the afternoon and evening, he just read one book after another. Making notes on whatever it was that he wished, this was helping him to improve.
But in his body, there was this craving. An itch. A desire. He did not want to be cooped up here. He wanted to be out there. In the fighting. He wanted to be free, and feel his heart pounding and to fight.
Truly it was different from when he had first arrived in this world, which he had now learnt one name of, as the world had differing names deeping on who it was that you asked. For Dharen, he had learned the names for it now. One was Arcadia, which was a more recent name. The older name that he had found out was Xenarra. The name had come from the first Imperium or before that potentially.
Noticing a new sun had begun to rise, Dharen slowly sighed to himself as he once more dragged himself out of bed. And slowly he moved to the washroom where he could at least start to prepare himself for the day that was now ahead.
But for some reason, there was something different today, something felt different to him. Looking out of the window, he could see more students running around compared to normal. But that could not be it, right?
There was something that was making him feel uneasy. Far to uneasy for how he was meant to be. Something was wrong he could have sworn that at least, but still the truth was that there was nothing there. Nothing at all…
Bang, Bang, Bang!
The sudden bashing on his door shocked him a little and he quickly turned around and moved quickly over to where his weapons were, half expecting an inquisitor to come barging in through the door. But then as it was opened normally he saw that it was only Jason.
"Dharen," he said. "Get some clothes on, the people, Renna's family are nearly here."
His words surprised him, as there could have been no one surly that the message could have reached her family and then they gather up and move here as quickly as they did.
Still he listened to Jason and quickly had gotten changed ensuring he had weapons on himself securely, then he took one look at his room as he left.
Walking with Jason down to a carriage that was awaiting them, he now noticed even more students and professors alike running away, before he could ask though Jason had started to speak.
"The leaders of the academy are expecting that the Inquisition will make a large-scale assault today as Renna's family are basically here."
Dharen nodded his head as this did make sense but then how would they know Renna's family was here though.
"Hey Jason, how is it-'' Jason interrupted him, as if he had expected this question.
"Well, Renna's father. Did far more than anyone expected. He mustered at least one thousand of his warriors, all on horseback, and with him and a couple others they came down from the plateau. I could only imagine how surprised people were, it's the first time in a long time, any major force of Dragon-Kin has left the Plateau."
Dharen heard this, but he only worried more. The Inquisition clearly wanted him to be dead. They had been going after him for as long as they knew he had existed and it had only been getting worse since then. He just hoped in many ways that thing would stop once they had left.
In the carriage, Dharen was surprised to find a set of armour, though it was only a type of reinforced leather. Looking at Dharen was surprised, and with a small glance with Jason he slowly began to get it all on as the carriage began to move. They were now heading to the most western entry point into the academy, this had seen some of the worst fighting siding from the bridge battle with the town and academy working together to force the Inquisition out of their walls.
Soon enough they were nearly there, but looking out they both could see smoke and fire rising over the town and there could only be one reason for this and everyone knew it.
At the bridge they found even more people, students and professors. All though were in battle armour with their weapons. Dharen quickly was able to make out Renna who had turned and waved at him after seeing him. It was not just her here though, he also noticed all of the other Dragon-Kin were here. Then, he had not seen me once since he arrived.
But by the looks of it, there would be one long battle before he could finally leave.
