Chapter 24 - Ch24- Journey to Forever

As the days passed, Micha found herself living in a dream-like state—one that no longer held fear but instead blossomed with warmth and love. Ever since that one fateful morning when she shared her deepest fears with So Hyung, the terrifying dreams that once haunted her had vanished, leaving her nights peaceful and her heart calm. Each evening, as So Hyung returned from work, their time together became the highlight of her day.

So Hyung treated her with an overwhelming tenderness, as if she were the most precious thing in his world. The way he looked at her, spoke to her, even the smallest gestures, were filled with love. Micha couldn't help but be moved by how much he cared. He made sure she never felt lonely, showering her with affection as he cooked her meals, brought her snacks, or surprised her with small gifts after a long day of work.

One evening, after So Hyung had returned from the office with her favorite snacks in hand, they sat together on the couch, savoring the quietness of the moment. Micha glanced at him, a thought lingering in her mind for some time.

"Hyung," she began, her voice soft yet curious, "you've told me so much about yourself, but you've never really spoken about your family. Where do they live?"

He looked at her thoughtfully, finishing his bite of the snack before answering. "They live in Shi Town," he said with a gentle smile. "A small place, not far from the city, but they like it there. My parents are pretty simple people, they enjoy the quiet life."

Micha leaned in closer, resting her head against his shoulder as she thought about his words. "Shi Town…" she mused softly, tracing circles on his arm with her finger. "I'd love to meet them one day. But... do you think we should speak to our parents first before we take any more steps forward? I don't want to rush things, but I think it's time we tell them about us."

So Hyung nodded, a soft chuckle escaping his lips as he kissed the top of her head. "You're right, Micha. We should speak to them first. I want to do things properly. I want our families to know how serious we are about each other."

The weight of his words filled her with warmth. Micha's heart swelled at the idea of both their families being involved, of their relationship moving forward in a meaningful, responsible way. "Let's do it, then," she said, her voice full of quiet determination. "When we're both ready, we'll tell them and then, if they agree, we can meet them in person."

He tilted her face up gently, looking into her eyes. "I can't wait to introduce you to my parents. They'll love you, Micha. Just like I do."

Micha's heart fluttered at his words. She wrapped her arms around him, holding him tightly as the room seemed to glow with the warmth of their shared feelings. For the next few days, they spent every moment together, savoring the beauty of their relationship. So Hyung's love and care for her were undeniable—he took care of her in ways that reminded her of her own mother, with the same gentle attentiveness and devotion.

Every evening after work, he would bring her snacks—small tokens of his affection—and sometimes, he would take her out to explore the town. They would walk hand in hand through the streets, discovering hidden corners and beautiful places, places that made Micha feel as though she were living in a fairytale. One evening, they even took a small trip to a nearby town, roaming the streets and admiring the twinkling lights of the city.

"I've never seen the city look this beautiful before," Micha remarked, her eyes sparkling as she gazed at the lights reflecting off the water. The stars overhead seemed to twinkle just for them, as if the universe were celebrating their love.

So Hyung smiled, squeezing her hand gently. "Everything is more beautiful with you by my side."

She looked up at him, feeling her heart swell with emotion. "I'm so lucky to have you, Hyung. Every moment with you feels like a gift."

He kissed her softly on the forehead. "You are my greatest gift, Micha."

The days flew by in a whirlwind of love, laughter, and tender moments. The week they spent together felt like a dream, one they never wanted to wake from. With every passing day, Micha felt her heart grow closer to So Hyung. He had become her confidant, her protector, and most importantly, the man she knew she wanted to spend her life with.

On their last night together before So Hyung had to return to his regular routine, they lay in bed, Micha resting her head on his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart. The soft glow of the moon filtered through the window, casting a gentle light over them.

"Hyung," Micha whispered, her voice barely audible, "thank you for this week. It's been perfect. I've never felt this loved, this happy."

He ran his fingers through her hair, his touch sending a wave of comfort through her. "It's because I love you, Micha. More than you'll ever know. I'll always be here for you, no matter what."

Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked up at him. "Promise me you'll never leave," she said, her voice breaking slightly. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

So Hyung smiled, wiping away her tears. "I promise, Micha. I'll always be here for you. No matter what life throws at us, we'll face it together."

With those words, Micha felt a peace settle over her. The fear and uncertainty that had once plagued her heart seemed to melt away, replaced by the overwhelming love she felt for the man beside her. She knew, without a doubt, that she had found the one she was meant to be with. And as they drifted off to sleep in each other's arms, she felt a deep sense of excitement for the future, for the life they would build together.

This was only the beginning, and Micha couldn't wait to see where their love would take them.

As the morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a soft golden hue across the room, Micha stirred in So Hyung's embrace. The steady rhythm of his breathing beside her was a comforting presence, grounding her in a moment of absolute peace. For a few precious seconds, she stayed still, savoring the warmth and security that his arms provided. It was a kind of bliss she had never known before, one that made her feel as though she could stay in this perfect moment forever.

But as much as she wanted time to stand still, life always moved forward. Today was the day they would take the next step—introducing their families to the idea of their love. Micha had never been more nervous, yet at the same time, the excitement of moving forward with So Hyung gave her courage. She felt ready for whatever came next, knowing that they were in this together.

So Hyung began to stir, his arms tightening around her momentarily before he opened his eyes, blinking against the soft light. A sleepy smile tugged at his lips as he looked down at Micha, brushing a few strands of hair from her face. "Good morning, beautiful," he murmured, his voice still thick with sleep.

Micha smiled back, her heart swelling with love for him. "Good morning, Hyung," she replied softly. "I was just thinking about today… and how nervous I am."

He chuckled, pulling her closer. "Nervous? Why would you be nervous? Our families will be overjoyed when they find out about us."

"I hope so," Micha said, biting her lip slightly. "I just don't want anything to go wrong. It feels like we've built something so perfect, and I'm afraid that… I don't know… what if they don't agree? What if they don't understand?"

So Hyung lifted her chin gently, making her meet his gaze. "Micha, I know this is a big step, but we've come this far because we love each other. Our families will see that. They'll understand, and even if they don't at first, we'll help them see what we already know—that we belong together."

His words were like a balm to her anxious heart. Micha took a deep breath and nodded, feeling the weight of her worries lift slightly. "You're right," she said quietly. "I'm just overthinking things. Thank you, Hyung. You always know how to make me feel better."

"That's because I know you better than anyone," he teased gently, planting a kiss on her forehead. "And I love you more than anything."

The rest of the morning passed in a quiet rhythm, with So Hyung preparing a simple breakfast while Micha got ready. As they sat together at the table, the conversation naturally drifted to their future. It was a topic they'd begun to discuss more frequently over the past few days—what their life would look like together, where they would live, how they would build their family.

"I was thinking about something last night," Micha began as she sipped her coffee. "About the future… and about us."

So Hyung raised an eyebrow, curious. "Oh? What about it?"

"Well," she continued, feeling a little shy, "we've talked about getting married, but I was thinking about our family. You said once you'd love to have children—two, right? But we've never really talked about when or how…"

A playful smile spread across So Hyung's face. "You want to plan all of that now?" he asked, teasing lightly. "Are you thinking of becoming a mother soon, Micha?"

Micha laughed, a blush creeping into her cheeks. "No, not yet! But it's something we'll have to think about eventually, right?"

So Hyung leaned back in his chair, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "You're right," he said, his tone more serious now. "I've always wanted a family, but I want it with you when the time is right. We'll figure it out, step by step, just like everything else."

Micha nodded, feeling a sense of contentment settle over her. The thought of building a life with So Hyung—a family, a home—filled her with a quiet joy. It wasn't something she needed to rush into, but the idea of it made her feel like their future together was limitless.

After breakfast, they prepared to leave for the day's journey. Micha had spoken to her boss the day before and had been granted a week off, allowing her to travel with So Hyung and focus on their families. As they drove toward his hometown, the countryside whizzing by, their conversation turned to lighter topics—places they wanted to travel, memories from their childhoods, dreams they had for the future. It was in these moments that Micha realized just how deeply connected she felt to So Hyung, not just as a partner but as someone who understood her in ways no one else ever had.

The drive passed quickly, and soon they were pulling into Shi Town. It was a small, picturesque place, with charming houses and quiet streets lined with trees. Micha looked around, taking it all in, feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves settle in her stomach.

"This is it," So Hyung said with a smile, glancing over at her. "Welcome to my hometown."

Micha smiled back, her heart fluttering in her chest. "It's beautiful," she said softly, squeezing his hand. "I can't wait to meet your family."

And with that, they continued down the road toward the next chapter of their journey together, filled with love, hope, and the promise of a future that was still unwritten, but one they were ready to create, side by side.
