Chapter 6 - The Emerald Encounter

Emma woke up with the first light of dawn, feeling the power coursing through her veins. She was an Emerald Dragon now, stronger and more agile than before. The forest around her seemed different, brighter and more alive.

"Good morning, Draconis," she said, stretching her now larger, emerald-green limbs.

**Good morning, Emma. Today is another day for growth and exploration.**

Emma grinned. "Let's see what adventures await us."

She set off through the forest, her enhanced senses making every detail more vivid. The sound of birds chirping, the rustling of leaves in the breeze, and even the faint scent of nearby animals were all amplified. She felt a deep connection to her surroundings, like she was part of the forest itself.

As she walked, she encountered more creatures. Wild boars, wolves, and even a few larger animals crossed her path. Each battle was a test of her new abilities and a chance to gain more experience.

By mid-morning, Emma had defeated a pack of wolves and a group of goblins. She felt the familiar surge of power as she leveled up once more.

**Congratulations, Emma. You have reached Level 11.**

Emma checked her status screen eagerly.

Emma smiled, feeling the increased power and vitality in her body. She continued her journey, determined to reach the next level. The forest grew denser as she ventured deeper, and she kept her senses sharp for any signs of danger or opportunity.

As she explored, she came across a clearing with a sparkling stream running through it. She paused to drink, the cool water refreshing her. As she drank, she heard voices in the distance. Human voices.

Emma's heart skipped a beat. She hadn't encountered any humans since her reincarnation, and she was curious to see how they would react to her. She approached the voices cautiously, using her enhanced senses to stay hidden.

Peering through the bushes, she saw a group of three adventurers. They were young, perhaps in their early twenties, and looked a bit worse for wear. Their clothes were tattered, and their faces were smeared with dirt. They were sitting around a small campfire, talking and laughing.

Emma decided to take a closer look. She stepped into the clearing, her emerald scales catching the light. The adventurers froze, their eyes widening in fear and surprise.

"Is that... a dragon?" one of them whispered, his voice trembling.

Emma took a deep breath and tried to speak, but only a guttural growl came out. The adventurers' faces turned pale, and they reached for their weapons.

"Stay back!" the man with the rusty sword shouted, his voice shaking. "We don't want any trouble!"

Emma held up her claws in what she hoped was a placating gesture. She tried to speak again, but the growl was all that came out. The adventurers exchanged nervous glances.

"What do we do?" the woman with the bow asked, her voice tense.

"Fight or flee?" the burly man with the battle axe replied, gripping his weapon tightly.

Emma shook her head, trying to convey that she meant no harm. But her efforts were in vain. The adventurers' fear turned to determination, and they advanced on her, weapons raised.

**If you want to communicate with humans, you will need to reach Level 60 to unlock a human form,** Draconis informed her.

Emma sighed internally. "That's a long way off," she thought.

Seeing no other option, Emma turned and fled into the forest. She heard the adventurers shouting behind her, but she didn't look back. She didn't want to hurt them, and she hoped they would eventually realize she meant no harm.

She ran for several minutes before slowing down and catching her breath. She felt a mix of frustration and relief. She had wanted to communicate with the adventurers, but her dragon form made that impossible for now.

"Guess I'll have to get a lot stronger before I can talk to humans," she muttered.

**Indeed, Emma. But you handled the situation well. It's important to avoid unnecessary conflict.**

Emma nodded. "Thanks, Draconis. Let's keep moving. I need to reach Level 13."

She continued her journey, determined to gain more experience and grow stronger. She encountered more creatures—wild boars, wolves, and even a large bear. Each battle tested her skills and pushed her closer to her goal.

By late afternoon, she had gained enough experience to level up again.

As the sun began to set, she encountered a group of goblins in a small clearing. They were arguing over a pile of loot, oblivious to her presence. Emma saw this as an opportunity.

She took a deep breath and unleashed her Fire Breath on the group. The goblins scattered in panic, and Emma used her Wind Slash to take down the ones that tried to fight back. The battle was quick and decisive.

As the moon rose and the forest grew quiet, Emma found a safe spot to rest. She curled up under a large tree, feeling the warmth of the day's victories. She thought about the adventurers she had encountered and the challenges she had faced.

"Goodnight, Draconis," she said softly.
