[CEO Office Group Chat] Boss Works, I Work
Assistant Gao: !!!
Assistant Gao: [gasp] Who was that drenched beauty the boss carried in just now?!
Assistant Chen: Carried?!
Assistant Li: Drenched beauty?
Assistant Lin: @Assistant Chen You found the highlight.
Assistant Faye: Of course, it's the boss's wife. [grin]
Assistant Faye: Nice metaphor, a raise might be in order @Assistant Gao.
Assistant Faye: @Assistant Lin What's with that nickname? No inappropriate names in the work chat.
Assistant Lin: ???
Assistant Chen: [wow] The legendary boss's wife is here?! And she was carried in?
Assistant Chen: [sly grin gif]
Assistant Gao: The boss's wife is so beautiful! [starry eyes]
Assistant Gao: When she passed by me, she shyly nodded and smiled, then quickly burrowed into the boss's arms.
Assistant Gao: Ahhh, it's too adorable!
Assistant Li: Oh no, I can picture it. [heart eyes]
Assistant Lin: Don't get carried away. Are you insane?
Assistant Faye: I remember the first time I saw the boss's wife, I was fangirling too.
Assistant Faye: No wonder the boss is smitten. Who could resist?
Assistant Li: What's the story with this drenched beauty?
Assistant Faye: It was snowing outside, the boss's wife got wet. Use your imagination.
Assistant Li: [starry eyes] How beautiful must she be! Why wasn't I there?
Assistant Chen: The boss used to stay at the office for ten days or half a month. Since getting married, he's been on time every day, no more overtime.
Assistant Faye: Of course, why work late when you have a beauty like her at home?
Assistant Gao: Is she here to check on him?
Assistant Lin: No.
Assistant Lin: She's here to tell the boss "Happy First Snow." [jealousy]
Assistant Gao: Damn! I'm so jealous.
Assistant Chen: Another day crying over someone else's love life. [heartbreak]
Assistant Li: ...I wish I could hold my wife and watch the first snow.
Assistant Li: But I don't even have a girlfriend. [crying]
Assistant Faye: !!! The boss has spoken, check your emails!
Assistant Chen: This afternoon's snack budget has doubled?!
Assistant Gao: Why?
Assistant Lin: Don't ask. It's because of love.
Assistant Faye: I love the boss's wife!
Stella cuddled on the sofa with a hot water cup, enjoying Tony's drying service.
"I'll have Lin get you an access card," Leo wrapped her hair in a towel and gently dried it. "Next time, just come straight in."
"Oh?" Stella blinked, teasing, "Aren't you afraid I'll check up on you, Mr. CEO?"
Leo chuckled, "The Chairman's wife can check up on me anytime. Just remember to give me a reward afterward."
"What kind of reward?"
Leo leaned in and whispered a few words in her ear.
Stella's face turned bright red. After a moment, she accused, "Brother, you've changed."
Leo raised an eyebrow, "Oh? How so?"
"You're becoming more and more of a rogue."
"Thank you for the compliment, my dear," Leo said, giving her a kiss on the forehead. "I'll keep it up."
"..."
"How was everything at the company today?" Leo asked.
Stella nodded. "It went well. Everyone was very polite to me. Probably because of Mr. Yan."
"Was Ryan there too?"
"Yes, he arrived early but didn't say much during the meeting."
Leo rubbed his forehead. "He probably couldn't sit still and came just to see you."
"To see me?" Stella was a bit surprised. Then she remembered something. "By the way, he asked me about Riverside Elementary School, saying a friend's kid is planning to enroll there next year. Did you mention my elementary school to him?"
...That sly guy, Ryan.
"Uh, yeah," Leo replied vaguely, his eyes avoiding hers. "So, how was the director?"
Stella's eyes lit up, instantly forgetting the previous topic. "The director is actually Horace Lin! Oh my god, I never dared to dream that one day he would direct my script. With him on board, I can confidently say this show is going to be a hit!" She hugged Leo. "Thank you, brother. It's all because of you."
"No need to thank me. Your writing is just that good."
Leo, noticing her hair was almost dry, lifted her from the sofa and carried her to the lounge. "Change into some dry clothes so you don't catch a cold."
Her wet outer clothes had been sent to be dried by the assistant. Stella touched her shirt and pants, realizing they were still a bit damp.
"Are we borrowing clothes from Ms. Faye?"
"No, you'll wear mine," Leo said, placing her on the bed in the lounge and opening a wardrobe. "I used to stay here occasionally, so I have some spare clothes."
Boyfriend shirt?
The term popped into Stella's head, making her a bit eager. "Brother, I want to wear your white shirt. Can I?"
"Of course," Leo calmly put aside the cotton pajamas and took out a shirt and a pair of pajama pants. "You can't wear the suit pants, but the pajama pants have an elastic band. Try them on. If they don't fit, I'll ask Faye to buy you a set."
"No need," Stella happily took the clothes. "Your waist is very slim, brother. I'm sure they will fit."
Leo was helping her remove her high heels. Hearing her words, he held her ankle and said, "My waist may be slim, but it's strong."
"..."
After changing clothes, Stella looked in the full-length mirror, very satisfied. Just as she was about to take a picture, her stomach growled.
"Hungry?" Leo glanced at the clock. "What did you have for lunch?"
Stella, feeling guilty, said, "I didn't... eat. I was afraid of being late for the meeting, so... it was a special case today. I won't do it again."
Leo sighed, rubbing her flat belly. "What do you want to eat? I'll have someone get it."
Stella looked at the snowy weather outside and shook her head. "No need, no need. I'm not that hungry. Doesn't your company have afternoon tea? I'll just have some of that and wait until you get off work for dinner."
Leo thought for a moment and nodded. "Okay."
Half an hour later, Stella stared in shock at the food cart Faye had brought in.
Snowflake beef rolls, raspberry macarons, dark chocolate mousse, crab sandwiches, blueberry scones, and smoked salmon with caviar?!
She glanced at Leo, who was focused on his work at his desk, and swallowed her exclamations, trying to sound calm. "Ms. Faye, is your afternoon tea always this lavish?"
Faye, feeling the boss's sharp gaze, smiled impeccably. "Yes, ma'am. The chef is on standby outside. If you need anything, please let me know."
Stella, unused to such treatment, said, "This is more than enough. I don't need anything else. Please let the chef rest."
Ah, the boss's wife is so adorable. Faye held back her smile and politely left. "Yes, ma'am. Please enjoy."
After Faye left, Stella brought the salmon and beef rolls to Leo's desk. "Brother, you should eat some too."
"No need to worry about me. You eat," Leo said, patting her head. "I don't usually have afternoon tea."
"Okay," Stella said, taking a bite of the chocolate mousse. "No wonder Sam decided to join your company. The food is amazing."
"Who?"
"My roommate, Sam. She received an offer from our company during the fall recruitment..."
"Our company," Leo corrected her.
Stella blinked and then smiled, nodding. "Right, our company. She also received offers from several other big companies, but she didn't hesitate and signed with ours. I think she made the right choice. She'll love our company's cafeteria!"
"Yes," Leo poured her a cup of milk tea. "I'll have my assistant keep an eye on her after she joins."
Stella felt happy but a bit hesitant. "Sam is very capable. You can trust her, but don't be too obvious about it..."
"I understand. I won't deliberately give her opportunities or make her a target for gossip."
"Okay!" Stella was relieved and offered him a piece of cake. "I'll feed you!"
Leo didn't take the cake but instead kissed the cream off her lips. "Sweet."
The head of the marketing department was in for a shock today.
In the afternoon, he and two project managers went to the 17th floor to report to Leo. The entire company knew that Leo worked efficiently and quickly, never dragging things out.
So, as usual, he knocked on the door symbolically and then pushed it open without waiting for a response.
When he saw the scene before him, his jaw almost hit the floor.
Leo was sitting in his boss's chair, looking as commanding as ever—if you ignored the person in his arms.
It was a woman, her face obscured by her long hair that cascaded over her shoulders. Her attire was a bit unusual. She had her arms wrapped around Leo's neck and was sitting on his lap, sleeping soundly in his embrace. Leo held a pen in one hand, signing documents, while his other hand gently patted her back as if soothing a child.
"Mr. Leo..."
Leo raised a finger to his lips, signaling for silence.
The director immediately shut his mouth.
Just then, Leo's assistant arrived. Seeing the scene inside, he was surprised but not shocked, as he had been somewhat prepared for this. "Director Wilson, Manager Randy, Manager Hanson, please wait in the conference room for a moment. Mr. Leo will join you shortly."
In the last second before the door closed, they saw Leo gently lifting the girl and carrying her into the lounge. It was then that Director Wang noticed the girl's sleeves and pant legs were rolled up. Clearly, the clothes were not her size, and whose clothes they were didn't need guessing.
"Assistant Lin," Director Wang asked, a bit shaken, "who is she?"
"She is Mr. Leo's wife," the assistant replied.
She is the little lucky star of the afternoon tea.
She is the boss's little blossom.
