Chapter 38 - War is on the Horizon

=========================

As Charybdis stood before him, Ashoka's eyes burned with determination.

He lunged forward, swinging his sword with all his might, but she effortlessly dodged his strikes.

Her movements were fluid, almost mocking in their ease.

'She's toying with me. How is she so fast?' he thought, gritting his teeth.

He struck again, harder this time, but Charybdis danced around his attacks, not even bothering to counter.

His frustration grew, fueling a surge of energy within him. Instinctively, he began to channel his battle aura, his body glowing with a faint light.

'What is this power?' he wondered, feeling a strange new strength coursing through his veins. 'I have to push harder.'

With renewed vigor, he attacked again, his blows carrying more force. Charybdis, however, remained unbothered, effortlessly parrying his every move.

"You have some potential," she remarked, sidestepping another attack. "But it won't be enough."

Ashoka's frustration grew into a burning determination.

He felt a deeper power awakening within him, his unique skill, Emperor, activating.

His mind cleared, his strength increased, and he felt a surge of authority over his own mana.

'I can do this. I must do this,' he told himself, launching a more powerful assault.

His sword strikes were now faster and stronger, each blow carrying the weight of his newfound power.

Yet, Charybdis remained untouchable, evading his attacks with an almost casual grace.

"You fight well, Ashoka," she said, her voice calm amidst the clash of steel and magic.

"But you are still just a man, facing a power far beyond your comprehension."

His frustration grew.

He could feel the fear creeping in as he looked at Charybdis's third eye, its three pupils staring back at him with an unsettling intensity.

But his unique skill helped him fend off the fear, bolstering his resolve.

'I will not succumb to fear. I am an Emperor. I am Ashoka,' he reminded himself, his resolve hardening.

With a roar, he channeled all his strength into a final, desperate charge. But Charybdis sighed, raising her hand.

With a flick of her wrist, she sent a wave of energy that knocked him back, his sword flying from his grasp.

He hit the ground hard, the wind knocked out of him.

"You are brave," Charybdis acknowledged, walking towards him. "But bravery alone will not save you."

Ashoka struggled to his feet, his body aching.

His battle aura flickered, and the power of his unique skill felt like a hollow echo.

He was an emperor without a kingdom, a warrior without an army. The realization stung, but he refused to give up.

"You think you can defeat me?" he spat, his voice defiant. "I will not bow to a Danav!"

Charybdis's expression softened slightly. "This fight is pointless, Ashoka. You have spirit, but you lack the power to back it up. Yield, and we can find another way."

Ashoka's eyes blazed with determination, but he knew deep down that she was right.

His strength was waning, and despite his best efforts, he could not land a decisive blow.

The futility of his struggle weighed heavily on him.

With a final, desperate effort, he charged at her.

Charybdis didn't even bother to touch him. Instead, she manipulated his blood, causing him to levitate off the ground.

The pain was excruciating, and he gasped as he hung helplessly in the air.

'How is she doing this?' he wondered, his mind racing. 'This is not a fight I can win '

"You are strong, Ashoka," Charybdis said, her voice firm but not unkind. "But this is not your battle to win."

His vision blurred, the edges darkening. He could feel the last of his strength slipping away.

With a ragged breath, he whispered, "I will not bow."

Charybdis sighed, a look of disappointment crossing her face. "Very well."

With a gentle touch, she increased the pressure on his blood, and Ashoka's eyes rolled back as he lost consciousness.

She lowered him to the ground, careful not to harm him further.

"You have potential, Ashoka. But you need to learn," she murmured, looking down at his unconscious form.

With a sigh, she turned and walked away, leaving him to recover from their one-sided battle.

She hoped that in time, he would understand the purpose of his summoning and join her in the realization of her Ambitions.

It will take some "re-education" but she was sure she could achieve it.

As the dim light of the underground chamber flickered, Charybdis placed the unconscious Ashoka into a secure cell.

She cast a lingering glance at his still form before turning and making her way to the main hall.

Charybdis summoned her son, Krodha, and the Lord of Darkness.

They arrived promptly, the air around them charged with their formidable presences.

Krodha ,, stood tall and resolute, while the Lord of Darkness exuded an ancient, inscrutable aura.

"We must prepare for war," Charybdis declared, her voice echoing through the hall. "Our plans for Lanka will not go unchallenged. We need an army, one that can withstand any opposition."

Krodha's eyes glinted with determination. "What do you need of me, Mother?"

Charybdis's gaze hardened with resolve. "I need you to gather intelligent monsters and name them, bestowing upon them power and purpose. Prioritize the enlistment of Majins for our cavalry. They will be the backbone of our forces. Magical beasts must be domesticated completely and trained for combat."

"Once that is done Give each one a magical beast to bond with over time making them fight and learn the powers of each other , obviously its only common sense for them to have similar power set , I will set up a mass production facility of RC implants and quinque weapons production derived from their bonded beast"

The Lord of Darkness nodded, understanding the gravity of the task. "What if the creatures within Jura are insufficient?"

"Then go beyond Jura," Charybdis commanded, her tone unwavering. "Capture and recruit from other territories. We cannot afford to be complacent. We must build an army that is not only powerful but also loyal."

Krodha's jaw set with determination. "I will see to it, Mother. We will have the army we need."

Charybdis gave a curt nod, her eyes meeting those of her son and the Lord of Darkness.

"This is our time. We will not be stopped. Begin immediately. The future of Lanka depends on our actions now."

With that, Krodha and the Lord of Darkness set out to fulfill their tasks.

The halls of the kingdom buzzed with activity as preparations for war commenced.

Charybdis became busy with the quinque production factory and writing books to teach, those deemed unfit for battle, the ways of handling other tasks.

She also set a deadline for the army formation, within one month the forces of Lanka will subjugate The demon realm completely.
