Chapter 129 - Planning the Future

The first week of the new year flew by, filled with a renewed sense of purpose and excitement for the future. Aiko and Ryo had made a pact to start taking concrete steps toward building their life together, and they were determined to follow through.

On Saturday morning, Ryo and Aiko decided to sit down and make a list of their goals for the year. They gathered at Ryo's apartment, armed with notebooks, pens, and a large pot of coffee.

"Alright," Ryo said, opening his notebook. "Let's start with our short-term goals. What do we need to do first?"

Aiko tapped her pen thoughtfully against her lips. "Well, we both need to focus on our studies and make sure we graduate with good grades. That's a given. But aside from that, we should start looking for jobs in the city. Maybe we can attend some career fairs or start applying online."

Ryo nodded, jotting down her suggestions. "That sounds like a solid plan. We should also start saving money for our future. Maybe open a joint savings account?"

Aiko smiled. "I like that idea. It will help us stay motivated and focused on our goals. What about finding a place to live? Should we start looking now, or wait until we're closer to graduation?"

Ryo considered this for a moment. "I think we can start looking at different neighborhoods and getting an idea of what we like. That way, when the time comes, we'll have a better sense of where we want to live."

They spent the next few hours brainstorming and discussing their plans, their excitement growing with each new idea. By the time they were finished, they had a clear outline of their goals for the year and a renewed sense of determination.

To celebrate their productive morning, they decided to take a break and go for a walk in the nearby park. The crisp winter air was invigorating, and they chatted about their dreams and aspirations as they strolled hand in hand.

As they walked, they came across a small group of children building a snowman. Aiko's eyes lit up, and she tugged on Ryo's arm. "Let's join them!"

Ryo laughed. "Are you sure? We're a bit old for building snowmen, don't you think?"

Aiko shook her head, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "You're never too old for a snowman. Come on!"

They approached the children, who welcomed them eagerly into their project. Together, they rolled large snowballs and stacked them to create the body of the snowman. Aiko carefully sculpted the face, adding a carrot for a nose and stones for the eyes and mouth.

When they were finished, they stood back to admire their handiwork. The children cheered, and Aiko and Ryo shared a satisfied smile.

"See?" Aiko said, nudging Ryo playfully. "That was fun!"

Ryo grinned, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "You're right, as always. I had a blast."

As the sun began to set, casting a warm golden glow over the park, they made their way back to Ryo's apartment. They settled in for a cozy evening, curled up on the couch with blankets and hot cocoa.

Aiko rested her head on Ryo's shoulder, feeling content and hopeful. "Today was perfect," she murmured. "I can't wait to see what the future holds for us."

Ryo kissed the top of her forehead. "Me too, Aiko. Whatever happens, we'll face it together. We're a team, and nothing can change that."

As they sat there, wrapped in each other's warmth and the glow of their dreams, they knew that they were ready for whatever the future had in store. Together, they could accomplish anything.
