Chereads / Isekai Mansion: Another World Life With My Tengu Princess Wife / Chapter 13 - Eryndor's Suspicion About Blake's Existence

Chapter 13 - Eryndor's Suspicion About Blake's Existence

Blake nodded, knowing that resistance would only make things worse. "I understand. I will cooperate."

Instead of going in guns blazing and eliminating the elves, Blake decided to choose the peaceful option rather than the violent one.

It wasn't that Blake was afraid of them. Even when they mentioned a kingdom backing them, he was confident that they couldn't bypass his adaptation powers and kill him.

In the end, whatever killed him would only make him stronger. No matter how powerful the elves were, Blake doubted whether they possessed conceptual abilities related to death.

No matter how powerful their magic was, it wouldn't be stronger than a nuclear bomb from his world.

According to Ayame, a nuclear bomb might be able to kill him, but it wouldn't be enough to overcome his adaptation superpower, which seemingly included the ability to resurrect and adapt to whatever had killed him.

However, Blake didn't want to make an enemy out of a kingdom and an entire race.

As they say, it's better to make friends than many enemies.

Blake thought, 'Ayame and I might be important in our home world since I'm the husband of the Tengu Princess, and Ayame is the Princess herself with the backing of the entire Tengu Race. However, that's only in our home world, not in this foreign land.'

'Here, Ayame and I have already lost our backing. We only have each other and the assistance of the mansion spirit. We can't rely on the Tengu Race's army; we can only use our own combat power to deal with threats in this world.'

'Rather than risking an all-out war against the elf race because of arrogance and pride, it's better to give in for now and see how it goes. Of course, if they overstep their boundaries and treat us unfairly, I'll adapt to their bullshit and build a kingdom out of their corpses.'

'When push comes to shove, even a good person like myself wouldn't hesitate to protect my wife by any means necessary.'

'I'll lower my head for now for the sake of the bigger picture. If they dare to overstep, it won't be too late to cause havoc.'

As someone who was socially adept and had many friends in school, Blake knew it was better to have many allies, making it more convenient for him and Ayame.

Since they were in a new world, they needed to gather information. The best way to do that was to avoid making enemies until they acquired the necessary knowledge.

Even assassins need information about their target beforehand to ensure no mistakes in their assassination. Much less Blake, who was up against an entire race and kingdom of magic-wielding elves.

If everything went well and he made peace with the elves, then it's all good. If not, then Blake decided he would adapt to whatever came his way and take them on. That's what he was good at, anyway.

With Blake agreeing to it, the elves kept a close watch on Blake as they led him towards their campfire.

As he sat down, he noticed the Surveillance Orb hovering nearby, capturing every moment for Ayame.

"This place is incredible," Ayame's voice came through the orb. "Be careful, Blake."

Blake nodded slightly, knowing Ayame was watching over him. "I will. Let's see what we can learn."

However, when Ayame's voice came out of the Surveillance Orb and the Surveillance Orb hovered in the air, Eryndor and the rest of the elves in the camp became vigilant as they pointed their weapons at the Surveillance Orb as well as Blake himself.

Eryndor's eyes narrowed as he pointed his magic staff at the Surveillance Orb. "What is that orb, and whose voice is speaking from it?" he demanded, suspicion evident in his voice. "Is this some kind of magic artifact?"

Blake raised his hands in a gesture of peace. "It's a Surveillance Orb," he explained calmly. "The voice you hear is my wife, Ayame. This is our way of communicating over long distances. She's watching over me to ensure my safety."

Eryndor glanced at his fellow elves, their weapons still trained on Blake and the orb. "A wife, you say? And what manner of magic is this that allows such communication?"

Blake nodded, maintaining a calm demeanor. "Yes, Ayame is my wife. The orb allows us to see and speak to each other even when we are far apart. It's a form of ancient magic."

The elves exchanged uneasy glances, and Eryndor's grip on his staff tightened. "Your explanation seems plausible, but you must understand our caution. We cannot afford to be careless with unknown magic, especially from an outsider."

"I understand your concerns," Blake replied, his tone sincere. "We mean no harm. We are simply trying to find our way and understand this world. My wife is worried about me, and this orb is her way of ensuring I'm safe."

Eryndor studied Blake for a long moment, then glanced at the Surveillance Orb. "Very well. We will allow this communication for now, but know that you are being watched closely. Any sign of deceit, and you will face the consequences."

Blake gave a slight bow of his head. "Thank you, Eryndor. I appreciate your understanding."

Ayame's voice came through the orb once more, softer this time. "Thank you for your trust, noble elves. We truly mean no harm."

The elves slowly lowered their weapons, though their expressions remained guarded. Eryndor nodded, signaling them to stand down. "You may stay for now, but you will be escorted to our village where our elders will decide your fate."

Blake agreed, knowing that cooperation was the best path forward. "I will go with you peacefully."

The elves formed a loose circle around Blake, keeping a close watch as they began their journey towards the elf village.

The Surveillance Orb floated beside him, Ayame's presence a comforting reminder that he wasn't alone in this strange world.

As they walked, Eryndor spoke again, his tone still cautious but slightly more curious. "Tell me more about this world you come from, and how you arrived here."
