"The knights have returned!" Tanya heard some servants yell out from the court lady's wing. She became alert and her head sprung up. After 2 days of waiting anxiously for the outcome of the attack. She could only hope that they would succeed and return safely.
She quickly ran to the army wing. Hardik was the only person on her mind.
Upon arriving, she was horrified as she watched the knights enter the palace. Several were injured. The atmosphere was grave as they all looked depressed and tired.
She then saw the prince unconscious and being carried into the palace. Tanya's heart sank in her chest as she wondered what had happened to him. It was clear that the knights had gone through a harrowing ordeal. She then continued to look around amongst the knights until she saw him. He got off his horse and noticed his leg was injured as he walked with a slight limp.
"Master Hardik!" Tanya said as she rushed toward him.
