Rafe, however, grinned when he felt a powerful burst of mana coming from where Electro Skullix was. The area around Electro Skullix seemed to be getting brighter due to the lightning strikes that kept coming from the armor on Electro Skullix's back. A glimpse of Electro Skullix's figure could also be seen, slowly rising from his skull chair.
The four giant skeletons around the hill seemed to start moving, their eyes glowing red as they looked at Rafe. The other monsters that were there also began to move closer.
"Rafe. Are you sure you want to face them?" asked Hayato with a frightened look on his face.
"This is impossible Rafe, we should retreat," Sonia said.
"Do you feel it too? The fear, the goosebumps, the rushing blood, the racing heartbeat. A real sense of adventure, do you think I'm going to back out after all this time?" asked Rafe without turning around.
"You're out of your mind! We're only rank F, there's no way we can survive here, let alone defeat them! They're monsters," Hayato snapped.
"Hahaha... with my current strength, we'll probably end up killing each other. But as an adventurer, I won't back down after experiencing this atmosphere I've been longing for," Rafe replied while taking three steps forward.
"You two just stay here, they won't be able to attack from the side or behind as long as you stay near the passage. I'll go ahead and face those horrible creatures," Rafe ordered as he pressed his palms together in front of his chest.
"You may survive because of an assassin! But we might not, Rafe!" Hayato shouted.
"Hehehe... couldn't you have used that Cosmic Tier Psychology Attack you did?" asked Rafe with a chuckle.
"Fool! That won't work on a monster that has no mind!" shouted Hayato with an annoyed look on his face.
"Then you'll just have to retreat from the tenth floor," Rafe said as he put his palms together.
At that moment, a very bright flash of lightning began to strike between Rafe's two outstretched palms, and the area around Rafe began to light up from the lightning in Rafe's hands.
Sonia and Hayato were immediately surprised when they saw the color change in the lightning in Rafe's hand, slowly the lightning in Rafe's hand began to turn dark black. Soon, the black lightning in Rafe's hand began to form two solid lightning knives.
"Black lightning? What the hell is going on? Isn't he using the element of darkness?" Sonia thought with a surprised look on her face.
"Tch. What kind of NPC is he? Is he the kind of NPC who is much stronger than the main character?" grumbled Hayato in his heart at the sight of the black lightning in Rafe's hand.
"Electro Skullix! I'm going!" shouted Rafe as he stomped his right foot into the ground.
Just as chunks of earth flew into the air, Rafe immediately kicked each chunk of earth until it shot toward the oncoming group of monsters. Suddenly, Rafe's form disappeared from Hayato and Sonia's eyes.
A group of approaching goblins had all parts of their bodies cut off, black flashes of lightning seemed to scatter in different directions from where the goblin group had been. Shortly after, another bolt of black lightning struck in a distant place, the longer the bolt of black lightning, the closer it got to the hill where Electro Skullix was standing.
"Shall we retreat, Sonia?" asked Hayato as he turned around.
But Hayato was surprised to see that Sonia had already put down her big bag, she even grabbed her shield and took some potions out of her bag. She put the potions into the small bag at her waist.
"I'll see Rafe fight to the end," Sonia replied as she jumped forward past Hayato.
"I don't see any doubt in his eyes, I want to see for myself. Whether a man can really fight against the impossibility of the fate he is facing, or whether a man can only surrender to the fate of his life in the end," Sonia thought as she stood and looked at the approaching group of skeleton monsters.
"Tch. She's the same," Hayato thought with a deep sigh.
"Alright, I'll help you from behind. As a good hero, I won't leave my comrades in the lurch," Hayato said while putting down his big bag.
"The NPCs left behind by the main character will definitely die, I won't let them experience that," Hayato muttered while drawing his sword.
"You'd better keep a bigger distance from me, I won't be able to control my mana pressure when fighting. I'll let it go completely," Sonia said while releasing her mana pressure completely.
"I understand," Hayato replied as he stopped his steps some distance away from the area where Sonia was standing.
As the bolt of black lightning continued to move towards the hill where the Electro Skeleton was, Rafe seemed to be slashing at all the monsters in his path with the blade of the black lightning in his hand. Skeletons, goblins, undead goblins, and orcs fell helplessly to the ground.
Even trolls with high regeneration were unable to regenerate the scars from Rafe's black lightning slash. The two giant skeletons standing around the hill immediately jumped at Rafe, swinging their bone swords.
"This should be the only monster I know that inhabits the tenth floor," Rafe muttered as he dodged the bone sword slash.
A loud crash was heard as the skeleton monster's bone sword hit the ground. Monsters and chunks of earth around the sword slash began to scatter into the air, indicating the strength of the slash, and Rafe rushed towards the giant skeleton monster's neck while slashing his sword at the monster's neck.
But the giant skeleton monster grew a bone near its collarbone, Rafe's slash only cut the newly grown bone near its neck. Rafe stomped his feet away from the skeleton monster's body, Rafe jumped far away and planted his feet on the ground.
"Something has changed in their fighting style, have all the monsters in this dungeon become stronger after two thousand years?" muttered Rafe with a surprised look on his face.
A giant skeleton monster swung its bone sword at Rafe again, this time Rafe jumped into the air to avoid the attack. Dozens of monsters began to scatter, cut down by the giant skeleton's bone sword.
Rafe swung his left hand in the air, and at that moment, black lightning began to spread like roots toward the giant skeleton monster. But from the top of the hill, hundreds of large bones shot towards Rafe, who suddenly changed the target of his lightning attack to the incoming bone rain.
The sound of successive explosions could be heard as hundreds of large bones hit Rafe's spreading black lightning. Bone fragments scattered in all directions, and Rafe immediately grinned as he kicked the ground. The Electro Skullix on the hill began to stare at him as he extended his right hand to Rafe.
"Turns out you can't wait to fight either," Rafe muttered as he looked at Electro Skullix.
Dozens of much smaller bones came out of Electro Skullix's right hand, but at a much faster rate than the previous large bones. Rafe immediately threw the poisonous needles he had collected in different directions on the tenth floor of the dungeon.
The sound of multiple collisions could be clearly heard as dozens of bones hit the surface of the ground where Rafe had been standing. But Rafe's figure was now elsewhere, Electron Skullix immediately turned his gaze back to Rafe, and the other two giant skeleton monsters also began to approach Rafe again.
"Looks like I'll have to destroy their bodies first," Rafe muttered as he stared at the two approaching giant skeleton monsters.
