Chapter 12 - Face Illusion Skill

"Are you fools hah!" a woman suddenly shouted from a distance.

Everyone there suddenly turned their attention. An adult woman holding a magic wand could be seen standing on the highest tower of the market building. But then she jumped and landed near the tall man who was ready to fight again. In the distance, dozens of soldiers were also approaching.

Rafe could finally see how many there were. Two soldiers, an adult man with different uniforms on his own. Two girls in the same uniform and two young men in the same uniform. They seemed very respectful of the newly arrived woman.

"What's wrong, Lola?" the adult man asked, clenching his fist.

"He's not the fugitive we're looking for. He's just a victim of the facial illusion skill he used," Lola replied, looking at Rafe, who was still tweaking his nose.

"You still haven't answered my question, are you hunting a serial killer in this town?" asked Rafe from a distance.

"Take a good look at his body. He looks like a child, although their faces are similar. Besides, the mana in his body is very small and very different from the fugitive you are chasing," continued the adult woman who had just arrived, her name was Lola.

"As a teacher, you should be more thorough. Bara," Lola added, tapping the adult man's head with the wand in her hand.

"Tch. They're ignoring me," Rafe grumbled.

"We should get back to the Academy. Miyura, Van, Zoa, Fia," Lola said as she turned around.

"But Master. He managed to take on all of us without getting hurt," the girl holding the spear, her name was Miyura, objected.

"That means you have to train even harder. He's definitely not the fugitive you're looking for. The mana in his body is very low," Lola said as she walked past four teenagers wearing the same uniform, the four of them were none other than students of the Elexia Academy. The only academy in the capital of Ruttera.

"If Miss Lola says so, then there is no need to argue. The skill of a master who can see mana in other people's bodies is never wrong," Ugo said as he lowered his crossbow.

"Damn, that means we've been fooled by him," Zoa grumbled while sheathing his chainsword.

"It's only natural, he's an S-level fugitive," the girl holding the wand chimed in, her name was Fia.

"Hey, is this how adventurers escape from battle?" shouted Rafe in a nasal voice.

"What?" grumbled Bara as he turned back to face Rafe.

"You just attacked me without even knowing what I did wrong. Then you just left, huh?" asked Rafe loudly.

"If it wasn't for the market, I would have crushed your body sooner!" said Bara as he glared at Rafe.

"Take it and do with it what you will! Let's pretend this never happened," Lola interjected as she threw five gold coins at Rafe.

"Gold coins?" Rafe muttered as he caught the gold coins with one hand.

"That's how you apologize," Rafe said, looking happy that he could buy food with the money.

"You'd better remove your hand, don't be a clown in front of me," Lola said before continuing her steps to leave the market.

"Oh yeah, I forgot," Rafe said as he removed the finger from his nose.

"Who exactly is this kid?" grumbled Miyura, gripping the spear in her hand tightly.

Bara and the others seemed to be following Lola from behind. Meanwhile, the two soldiers who had attacked Rafe earlier were now scattered with dozens of newly arrived soldiers. Rafe didn't care because he was too hungry. He immediately went looking for a food stall in the market area.

Everyone who saw Rafe looked shocked and backed away slightly. But Rafe didn't care. He looked at the food being served at the stall.

"Order it, sir," Rafe said as he sat down in an empty chair. But the person next to him seemed to shy away and moved to another chair.

"What's the matter?" asked Rafe in confusion.

"That's your face, son," the shopkeeper replied, pointing to Rafe's face.

"Handsome?" asked Rafe with a smile.

"Uh~ no. Let's see for ourselves," the shopkeeper said as he held a mirror up to Rafe.

"What the heck?" said Rafe as he looked into the mirror.

"Eh!" Rafe yelled loudly, startling people passing by the store.

"What happened to my face?" said Rafe with a frightened look on his face as he looked at his face which had become ugly and looked very disgusting because it was full of pus.

"Hurry up and eat out there!" the shopkeeper yelled after giving Rafe the food he had ordered.

"Don't hit me," Rafe said as he was about to be hit by a broom.

Rafe tried to hand over his money, but the shopkeeper refused because he was disgusted. Rafe happily left the market area to enjoy his meal. He took shelter under a tree as he enjoyed his meal.

"Ah. It feels like I've been born again," Rafe muttered as he patted his full stomach.

"But what happened to my face, huh?" Rafe said as he walked to the window of a house to see his face again.

But he was surprised when it turned out that there were grandmothers in the house changing clothes. Rafe suddenly turned his face away. But it turned out that his actions were seen, not far from where he stood, a beautiful girl with blue-black hair was staring at him.

"How dare you look at my grandmother!" the girl snapped as she picked up a broom to beat Rafe.

"Huh? Don't get me wrong! I'm just looking in the mirror," Rafe replied as he gestured for the girl to stop approaching him.

"Don't lie to me! You pervert! You look at grandmothers too!" the girl yelled as she hit Rafe with the broom in her hand.

"Mercy. I didn't mean it. Look at my face, I was just looking in the mirror," Rafe said, shielding his head from the blow of the broom.

"Don't make excuses!" the girl snapped as she hit Rafe in the stomach with the broom in her hand.

"Mercy, I'll get my food out," Rafe replied as the broom hit his stomach.

"There's nothing strange about your face! You're obviously just a pervert," the girl grumbled as she hit Rafe in the back with the broom.

"Really?" asked Rafe, glad to hear that there was nothing strange about his face. He quickly dodged the broom blow and quickly jumped closer to the glass again to check his face. But it turned out that the grandmothers changing inside had caught Rafe's eye.

"There's a Peeping Tom!" shouted the grandmother inside the house.

"You peeping tom! You peeped at her on purpose again!" the girl shouted as she swung her broom harder.

"Ouch! My future," Rafe squealed as his crotch was hit by the girl's broom.

Rafe suddenly clutched his crotch as he grimaced in pain. The girl with the broom tried to attack Rafe again with her broom, but this time Rafe dodged again by jumping.

"Don't just hit me! What do you think you just hit, huh?" grumbled Rafe, grimacing.

"Perverts deserve a beating," the girl replied as if she didn't feel guilty.

"What an angry girl," Rafe grumbled as he jumped up to run away.

"I won't let you!" said the beautiful girl as she extended her right hand toward Rafe.

"Fireball!" said the beautiful girl, about to use her magic power.

"It's useless," Rafe sneered as he stuck out his tongue, then ran away.

"What happened?" muttered the beautiful girl with a shocked look on her face because she couldn't use her magic.

"Are you all right, Elena?" asked the old lady Rafe had seen earlier.

"No, Grams," Elena replied as she looked in the direction Rafe had fled.

"Fireball," Elena said as she tried to use her magic again. This time a fireball appeared above her right hand. She was even more confused because she couldn't use her magic on Rafe.

Rafe himself managed to escape quite far. He could sigh when he saw that the girl wasn't following him.

"Strange girl. How could I be interested in grannies," Rafe grumbled as he kicked at the gravel on the road.
