"Rumbling."
The ground was shaking steadily as I looked away and the mana was thicker, a sensation ran through my whole body alerting me that something was about to happen.
The doors of the hut opened and the group came out of the hut looking equally in a direction where I was looking. That was when a horde of monsters were approaching, but this was out of control.
"W-shit, why must have been those monsters?"
It was when several groups of not only different monsters were running in our direction, there were also the monsters I had fought. It was the "Fongoru" race, the monsters that with only one group of them we had a big problem.
A small hand, in fact almost as big as mine, held me as I trembled. That's when I looked at the elf girl holding my hand as she looked in the direction where the monsters were coming from.
Her eyes... They were full of fear.
Wide open eyes and dilated pupils with a look of desperation in them.
Then I clenched my left fist and gritted my teeth. That's when I calmed down and calmed down.
I wasn't sure if I had gotten a knight achievement for finishing the demon's mission.
But this time it's not about just getting what I want, this time it's too many monsters and it's possible I'll die this time.
I haven't even been in this world for a single year, it's for that thought that I will give it all.
Then my body started to fill up with darkness mana and it covered my whole body.
Apart from grade 8 monsters, because of the mana from the other monsters, there were grade 7 and 6. These are monsters that I don't even have a chance to kill them, so I had to use transformation. I didn't know how many monsters I will be able to kill, but only in five seconds.
Five seconds will be enough to kill the strongest monsters, that's all I have to do.
My body started to be covered with mana when Encrid's voice spoke to me.
"You don't need to do it this time, let me out."
"..."
The mana stopped and I pondered.
Encrid was on par with an eighth circle mage and he could be in his human form for ten seconds before the mana ran out, then he might kill more monsters and I wouldn't have to use the "Monarch of Darkness" transformation without the need to have any danger.
Then the mana moved to the tattoo and darkness flooded us.
"What the hell is going on?"
The girl's hand squeezed me tighter as Alice and the rest panicked.
"Don't worry, everything will be fine."
"What do you mean?"
That's when the darkness dissipated and a man with black hair, purple eyes just like the color of my mana and a black suit appeared, while his face and eyes were emotionless.
"I will take care of the strongest monsters," Encrid spoke and suddenly disappeared from my sight.
"Starburst!"
Explosions echoed from such a far distance, the explosions could be seen but the color of the fire was dark and suddenly bursts of shockwaves came making the place like a hurricane. The trees shook so hard that it seemed that at any moment they might collapse.
"Shriek!"
Then the sky darkened so much that nothing could be seen, but sunlight quickly returned. That was when hundreds of giant, meteor-like spheres were falling from the sky. These spheres were dark in color when they finally hit the ground.
"Boom!!!"
A deafening explosion resounded so loudly as hundreds of those spheres fell to the ground. After briefly looking off into the distance, I could see how the spheres reached the ground and disintegrated everything in their path, leaving only dark colored fire and pure lightning that spread everywhere.
"Incredible, and that's only the power of an eighth circle in its weakest state and with more basic spells."
The spells that were displayed were very basic spells with nothing impressive, but only one of those spells made it look like they were too strong. The state in which Encrid was casting those spells was the weakest.
Such a weak state due to lack of mana caused such a giant roar with very basic spells.
"Who is that man?" a soft voice spoke.
It was Jessica, the elven girl holding my hand tightly as they trembled.
"Don't be scared, that man is not someone evil, he's just like that."
It's strange to say this, but, even though I'm a boy too, specifically in a boy's body, it felt strange to call this girl a "girl" while I'm also a boy of only about ten or eleven years old.
But that doesn't mean anything to me, even though it's strange.
"Muffled sound."
Suddenly, Encrid appeared right in front of me less than two meters away. Finally, his body began to slowly disperse and became a curtain of mana that headed in the direction of my forearm. Again, the moon-shaped tattoo appeared.
"That was all I could do. There are a lot of monsters left, but they're all grade 9."
"Sigh."
I took a long sigh before looking at the group.
"We'd better get a move on" was the first thing I said. Then they looked at me and nodded.
They didn't seem to notice Encrid reappearing right in front of me, though only one person looked at him more closely.
"That man is amazing." Jessica spoke up praising Encrid's power.
"..."
"Even a girl admits it, but you don't." suddenly Encrid spoke responding to Jessica's words.
"That's because someday I will surpass you."
"Nice try, but if you want to do it, it will take you a long time."
"We'll see, then it's a bet." I said confidently.
"Are you serious? Okay, but then don't regret it." mentioned Encrid.
***
-Scene change.
"What the hell happened here?"
"Squeak!"
Clara's voice echoed as we looked at the whole environment. A place completely destroyed, trees that are the size of a building were completely shattered and some of them were on the ground, while craters of abnormally gigantic sizes were in various parts.
It was just an eerie sight for anyone. An eighth-circle mage couldn't do this unless he used stronger spells, but Encrid did it as if it was no big deal.
It just made it look like something so easy to do.
"Hrrrnnng-AAAAAAAAAARRR!"
It was then that the roars of monsters echoed in the distance. They were only two different breeds of monsters.
Both grade 9 races wouldn't be a problem, but they were too many for a very weak monster.
The first race of those monsters looked very similar to a bear, and the second race of monsters was different; it was like a tree, but it had clawed limbs and a black eye with a mouth full of sharp teeth as its ears wobbled.
Both races of monsters were walking in our direction. After seeing that whole mass of monsters, it would be a very big problem. They are too many monsters, but it doesn't mean we couldn't get out of here alive.
There is a chance to get out alive, and that is to fight separately. Although in a group it would be easier, that would limit us to not being able to finish off more monsters at once. That's why that idea came to me.
"Split up," Alice shouted before I did.
Quickly the mana moved to the tattoo, but this time instead of Encrid coming out, it came out in his sword form.
"Burst!"
That's when the others started fighting as I looked at the sword in my hand, which was Encrid himself but in his sword form.
Encrid has two forms: the first would be the human form and the second is his sword form. The weight was not even felt, it was very light and its length and width were not uncomfortable at all.
"It will be a combat of attrition, but... if this situation reaches the guilds, you will be rewarded with a knight achievement."
Encrid spoke, but at that moment my eyes widened like saucers.
"Are you serious?"
"That's right. Although we still don't know if you'll get a knight achievement because of the demon problem, in this situation you'll definitely get an achievement."
With that in mind, my goal is to finish off all these monsters. Although I don't have that much mana and only a third of all my mana has been recovered, what I have at the moment will be more than enough.
"Swhoss!"
The wind whistled as I lunged towards the hordes of monsters, then I swung my sword slicing through the air and....
"Boom!!!"
My sword not only slashed several monsters, it made a loud clatter as it hit the ground. A curtain of dust rose, but that didn't stop me from continuing. I quickly swung my moon-shaped sword again while placing one foot forward and the other further back, at the same time my back straightened back a bit. The air was cut off with my sword as it made a moon-shaped turn.
Then the lower part of the monsters were slashed, the abdomens and some of them at the top of the throat.
"Whistle!"
Then blood splattered through the air as I quickly moved towards one of the tree-shaped monsters. I didn't know the name of this monster, so I'll just call it a tree monster.
"Thump."
A sound when wood is cut resounded as half of the giant tree monster was cut off. Half of its body fell to the ground before my eyes.
"Burst"
"Hrrrnnng-AAAAAAAAAARRR"
Then a much larger and more intense tree monster appeared, slashing at the monsters around it as it ran. Its limbs were much larger, as was its entire body. The roots were changing all over its body; it was a much older monster than the others.
"Starburst" "Starburst!"
"Hrrrnnng-AAAAAAAAAARRR"
Then the monster roared loudly. My ears pricked up, but that didn't matter to me. I kept my face emotionless and didn't blink once, as the horrible smell coming from its roar reached my face. It was a very foul smell. I then raised my sword and took a stance to throw myself hard towards the monster.
"Whistle!"
The air hissed and that's when I arrived right at the feet of the big monster that was about twenty meters tall. I swung my sword from the bottom up with the intention of cleaving the monster in half.
"Clank!"
Then my sword got halfway stuck, stuck, but that didn't stop me from anything. That's when my remaining mana went to my arms reaching my sword and a dark glow illuminated the monster's body while my sword was inside it.
"Burst!"
"Hrrrnnng-AAAAAAAAAARRR"
That's when the monster's body exploded and several, no, thousands of pieces of wood and a large black colored eye fell right in front of me. Its size was extremely large, it even surpassed me in height. Then I looked back, where giant craters were scattered everywhere.
Then I looked at the group. Alice, with her great attack speed and strength, was tearing apart the bodies of the bear-like monsters. I looked at Clara, and she, with her curse magic, was creating various spells that melted the tree monsters.
Finally, I looked at Dik. He was simply swinging his sword as he hacked the bear monsters and some of the tree monsters to pieces. With every monster he came across, he was destroying them so easily. Then I looked back again and saw tens of thousands of monsters running in my direction. I turned around and raised my sword.
"Swhoss!"
That's when I again brought my sword against the body of the motionless monsters.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Five...
And the numbers of fallen monsters followed one after another. My mana was slowly recovering, as I was only using the sword with the strength of my own body and did not use mana to gain more strength.
This exhaustion was nothing compared to my past life's training, and it didn't even compare to the training Oriana gave me for six months straight, every day without stopping once. I felt nothing.
My mind was only thinking of one word.
Don't stop.
Don't stop.
Don't stop...
Those same words kept repeating in my mind as I gripped the handle of my sword tightly and clenched my teeth tightly, while sweat was pouring down the sides of my cheek constantly without stopping.
It was a struggle in which I must not stop if I wanted to survive in this new world, a world where I had to survive on my own and with my own strength.
So the hours passed and my body was at its limit, but still I did not stop. That word "don't stop" persisted in my head, it didn't stop even when the blood of the monsters fell on my face and covered my whole body. And so the hours went by...
