Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 Heir to the throne

"Deaf sound"

My eyes widened as the carriage stopped and several unknown voices began talking about being able to pass.

"We've arrived at the city of commerce," Luna said.

I looked out the carriage window. In front of all the knights was an entrance similar to that of castles, with walls surrounding the entire city, basically walls of protection against monsters.

"Sigh"

We had spent the last five hours sitting in this carriage and to be honest, my butt was hurting and it was time to get off. The guards were moving towards the entrance of the city.

I looked out the window and saw two guards guarding the entrance. The knights were talking, and after a moment, the guards opened their eyes, perhaps because the knights told them that the princess and heir to the throne was in this carriage that is right in front of my eyes right now. The guards quickly returned to their positions and the carriage began to move forward.

We passed the entrance to the city and the guards looked out the windows. I frowned the moment they stared, so they turned to look in another direction.

"Those guys are really disrespectful," I thought.

Encrid suddenly spoke...

"Kid, I smell a good smell in this place. Why don't you take a look later if we stay in this city for a while?"

"..."

I turned my gaze to Luna and asked:

"Will we be in this city all day?"

"It's not like that, we will go to a Duke's mansion. He will let us stay one night until tomorrow" he replied.

I turned my gaze to the window. What is a Duke? He is a rank of nobles. If so, it might be a problem, I'm in a slave outfit. Although I'm not the only one, that count doesn't know me, and even less so if he finds out that I'm a commoner, what could happen?

"Whatever, I don't care about any of that noble stuff..."

"So kid, how about we walk around town?" Encrid asked.

I looked at Luna again. She needed to know if the two of them would buy something like clothes, because it is possible that I will get lost in this place and not find that Duke's mansion.

"You two... Are you going shopping?" I asked with a lot of sarcasm.

"Of course we do, don't you see how we are?" Luna said, pouting.

"Hahaha..." I laughed, but a little awkwardly.

The city streets, people and shops everywhere reflected a very calm atmosphere. It looked like a market from my past life, but this atmosphere was much more relaxed. This world is very different, magic exists and, therefore, I won't be able to see places like this very often.

Places like these are very nice, but... I sighed and stopped thinking about useless things. This time I looked at Gloriana, who was looking out the same window I was at.

She locked her eyes with mine and quickly looked away. I just smiled, it made me laugh a lot, but I held it back.

"So..." she looked back at me and her lips parted.

"Do you want to go with us?" Gloriana said as she shrugged her shoulders and tried to hide her face from her.

"..."

"Where to?"

"W-well, you just asked if we were going shopping and you need clothes too."

"Yes, it's true, but I don't have any money..."

"Don't worry, I'll pay for it," Luna said.

"Sigh"

After a little talk we arrived at a store. This was adorned with a very luxurious façade, with edges that I thought were modern, doors with design and material that looked expensive, and large windows. Quickly, two gentlemen opened the doors of the carriage. The first to come out was Luna, followed by Gloriana, and then I came out.

I felt eyes all over my body, but I ignored them. I followed the two girls and we entered the store. There were many varieties of clothing, their designs were spectacular. I looked at one of the sets of clothes and...

[One hundred gold coins]

"..."

Why are the prices so extreme? Even working ten years couldn't get that absurd amount of money. But from the facade, the store is actually very luxurious.

"How can I help you?" A middle-aged woman approached us. The knight named Josephine stood behind Gloriana, and despite her armor, which looked very expensive, the woman did not show any expression of indifference upon seeing three children in slave attire.

"We came to buy some things," Josephine said.

"I see. You can look at some of the sets of clothes here," the middle-aged woman responded with a somewhat low and very worn voice.

I looked around and saw an outfit that reminded me of one I wore as a child in my past life. It looked like a black jacket that reached close to the knees, with buttons that gave it the look of a businessman's suit. There were also some pants with two pockets on one side and one on the other, tight and the same black color, which combined perfectly with the long jacket. Below, there were shoes that looked like leather slippers, following the same color of the outfit.

My instincts led me to grab the outfit. I looked around and saw a door that said "locker rooms." I walked over there and entered. After a few seconds, I put the outfit on while adjusting a few buttons into place, following the style of businessmen who only adjust three buttons on their jackets. In this case, the long jacket had about nine buttons from the collar to the bottom.

Finishing adjusting just four buttons, I turned back and saw a mirror. My hair was very messy, so with my fingers I tried to comb it and fix it as best I could. Finally, I looked at the whole outfit: a long jacket that reached close to my knees, tight black pants, and sneakers. Everything looked good, he looked like an important nobleman.

"You can see it well."

"Wait, you're missing something, kid," Encrid said.

"What is it...?"

"Your face is half dirty and you also have a scar. Let me heal you."

I listened to him and the mana moved towards the tattoo. The sword quickly appeared in front of me. I held her and in an instant my body felt lighter. I looked at my face and I no longer had the scar. I wiped my face with the shirt I was wearing earlier, then I looked at myself again and Encrid spoke.

"Okay, now get out of this place and impress..." I didn't let him finish speaking when I pinched the tattoo; It was his weak point.

I left the men's locker room and looked for Luna and Gloriana.

"I look good?" I asked when I saw them.

"..."

His face changed to one of great surprise, but he quickly tried to hide it. Luna was the one who continued looking and responded.

"Y-you look good."

"Drip."

"Hey...why is your nose bleeding?" I asked for.

She put her hand to her face and turned around.

—Perspective of Gloriana Mengral.

He was looking for a very beautiful outfit when a voice spoke.

"I look good?"

It was Asher's voice. Turning my face in the direction of his voice and seeing her new appearance, my heart beat so hard that it was uncontrollable, it felt suffocating.

Her face... seemed very different from a few seconds ago. The clothes she was wearing and the very attractive figure of hers made my heart beat even harder. Endless emotions that I had never felt came to me, I couldn't control them. Seeing someone so attractive for the first time made my heart in complete chaos.

I quickly turned my head in another direction and brought both hands to my lips.

He is very attractive, in fact, if she kept looking at him, she might feel an emotion she didn't want to have.

"C-control yourself... I'm the next queen of the continent, I shouldn't have this feeling now," I thought, but I couldn't help but remember Asher's beautiful face.

I couldn't control myself, although it wasn't the first time this happened to me. But this time it's even more intense than other times. Although at first he didn't look at Asher with different eyes, now the story is different. How can a person change his attractiveness just by grooming himself? It shouldn't be possible, but right behind me was the clear example of that.

Why do I have these feelings? He is a commoner and I am the future queen of the continent, so why do I feel this way? These are feelings I shouldn't have, but I just couldn't help them. He is very attractive and he is my ideal type.

—Asher Frostblade's perspective.

"Sigh"

I gave a light sigh as the wheels of the carriage began to move. I was very thoughtful when the two of them saw me, although I didn't care what they thought. I didn't care, but I couldn't help but notice their faces in the store. It was very funny, but also confusing, because I don't know what kind of emotions the two of them were having. I don't understand emotions completely well, but little by little new emotions are emerging in me and, with that, I will be able to understand people's emotions better.

Knowing more emotions is difficult, just like magic. Thinking about it, I don't know what talent I have, but it seems normal to learn a spell in a few minutes. I didn't know anything about this world and I didn't know where to start.

"You think a lot, kid."

"Can you hear my thoughts or something?"

"No... But I can feel the vibrations of your brain and, with that, it's easy to know that you're thinking a lot," Encrid said.

Encrid is unknown to me, but he has information from an unknown era, an era where mages ruled far beyond the power of current mages. But something came to my mind.

"How many ninth circle wizards are there?"

If it is certain that tenth circle mages existed or if only one existed, then how many ninth circle mages are there today? It is possible that after a long time there will be several ninth circle mages, but what if the opposite happens and there are fewer ninth circle mages?

It is also possible that there are fewer magicians as powerful as the ninth circle magicians, but being an eighth circle magician is more than enough... But I don't want to be an eighth or ninth circle magician. Since I learned of the existence of a tenth circle wizard, that will be my goal. I don't know how long it will take, but I also don't know how many years it takes a magician to reach the ninth circle, much less the tenth circle, which is only believed as a fairy tale.

"Sigh"

I put everything aside, but I still couldn't stop thinking about the magicians. I know almost nothing, but...

"It smells something very interesting. I hadn't noticed, but that white-haired girl seems very familiar to me," Encrid said, interrupting my thoughts.

"What are you talking about?"

"Well, it's complicated to say, but I had a companion with that same hair color and that girl's magic, although she is still weak, she is very familiar to me" Encrid mentioned.

He could be Luna's ancestor, but the Hazard family is unknown to me. I don't know anything about other families, but Luna's ancestor could have been a very important figure. If he really was with Encrid, perhaps Luna's family is hiding something deeper.

"Her name was...hmm, what was her name? I don't remember, but I definitely knew someone with that magic and that hair color," Encrid said.

Maybe there are memories that Encrid lost at some point. It could be because he was in that place where I took him from for too long and memories of him have started to fade.

"Encrid, I think you are losing your memories, but you still remember your magic and spells, don't you?"

"Of course. Magic and spells are very difficult to forget because magic is part of the body and spells come from magic, that is, from mana," he commented.

"That's right, so would you teach me your spells? After all, you don't have a physical body."

"What are you talking about, child? It's just a matter of giving me more mana so I can take my human form."

"..."

Why didn't you ever tell me that? But how much mana does it take for... I don't know how to say it... something that was a human and is now a sword, to regain its form? How much mana do you need?

"Deaf sound"

Finally we arrived at the mansion of the count whose name I don't know. Looking from the carriage, I saw a nobleman's mansion with incredible colors and designs. The entire garden was impeccably arranged, with guards everywhere carrying armor and spears.

"That's the mansion," I said.

"It's not that bad, the castle is much better." Luna commented.

"..."

I just sighed. Then, the knights opened the doors for us and we got out of the carriage…
