The sound of a crack rang in my ears. Looking down, I saw the demon's feet moving frantically towards me. Before I could react, I felt red mana swirl around me, squeezing my abdomen with overwhelming force.
Clank!
From the ground, chains of mana emerged and held my legs and arms. I didn't allow my expression to change; I kept a serious face on as I focused on activating the Shadow displacement skill.
Suddenly, I lost sight of the demon. My eyes searched frantically until I located it five meters to my right. But before I could do anything, the demon had already launched itself at me with its hands outstretched, determined to catch me.
I gritted my teeth, feeling the tension in my muscles. With the mana surrounding my legs, I propelled myself in the opposite direction, trying to avoid a direct confrontation.
But its speed increased.
