Chereads / THE ROAD TO BARUHARA / Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3

Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3

As the ferocious beast Yaiju proceeds to sink its teeth into the helpless infant, his bloodlust is suddenly quenched by the appearance of a shadowy figure in the distance.

With a menacing growl, the beast's attention turns toward the unknown threat, his primal instincts ready to fight any creature that might dare challenge him. The shadow grew closer and each time it got closer,  the shadow diminished in s size gradually revealing the human-like structure of the unknown creature.

The mysterious figure slowly emerges from the shadows, revealing a lone man in ragged battle clothing. Bloodied wounds and fresh scars crisscross his body, telling a brutal tale of recent conflict. With a dry cough that seems to rattle his very bones, the man stumbles forward, his steps losing momentum as he fights to stay upright.

In a desperate display of will, he catches himself just before falling, he catches himself just before falling, his sword held fast in a clenched fist. Upon seeing the threat in front of him the best lunched itself in an attempt to brutally put him to death.

With a relentless fury that threatens to consume the world, yaiju charges toward the man each fearsome stride a testament to his unbridled ferocity. As he towers over the battered warrior, yaiju's massive jaws open wide, ready to claim the man's head as his next gruesome trophy, But in a breathless moment, the warrior moves with lightning speed, meeting the beast's attack with a resounding clash of steel.

The warrior's sword strikes yaiju's fangs in a defiant display of skill, sending shockwaves of noise and sparks dancing through the air. The beast staggered back at the surprise of what had just hit it, it let out a roar of pain as it appeared that the warrior's sword had chipped its teeth.

'' why is everything and everybody so desperate to have me head off my neck'' with a fierce confidence that seems to glow from within. The man's voice rings out like a clarion amidst the chaos of battle.

'' Does every creature under the sun crave my head as a prize? Can a man not have moments of peace without being set upon by all manner of enemies?'' he roars, his voice a mixture of defiance and weariness.

With a fluid, almost casual flick of his blade, he sends a spray of the beast's blood arching through the air, as if dismissing the very thought of such a challenge.

In a thunderous blast of fury, the bear unleashes a deafening roar,  as if giving voice to his primal rage and answering the warrior's challenge. The ground trembles beneath the sheer force of the beast's roar, a guttural cry that reverberates through the very air, threatening to tear the sky asunder.

With a grim smirk that hides his inner steel, the man turns his attention to the infant lying on the ground, seemingly not aware of the carnage that surrounds it.'' it seems you've stumbled upon a rather unfortunate situation, little one'', he says, his voice taking on a soft, almost tender as he lifts the child in his arms.

With a gentle grace that seems unsuitable with his battle-hardened appearance, he sets the infant safely aside, a fortress of courage and protection amidst the encroaching chaos.

With grim determination etched on his features, the man drops into a low, coiled stance, the air around him crackling with the potential energy of a spring-loaded trap. '' Let this over with'' he growls, his voice cold and unflinching.

With a swift, decisive movement, he shifts his sword behind his ear, ready to unleash his fury. Then like lightning, he explodes into motion, charging towards the beast with a devastating fury that shakes the very foundations of the mountain.

The bear in response to its challenger's movement, in a thunderous voice, with the same ferocity it had a few minutes while battling the serpent initaku, it launched itself towards the man.

The beast charges forward like a wild boar, its movements shook the very mountain itself. it roars as its claws bared and ready to rend flesh. the swordsman spins and strikes, his blade slashing in a brutal arc.

The bear enraged by this, swings a massive paw to swat the man aside, but with a swift movement, he dances out of reach, his agile feet carrying him around the monstrous form of the beast's attack.

As the beast roared and wheeled around ready for its second attack, the swordsman struck with lightning speed, his blade slicing across the bear's flank with brutal precision. The bear howled in agony, its massive frame shuddering with frame. But the creature's fury only burned hotter, it lunged forward seeking to crush the swordsman beneath its bulk.

But the man was as nimble as the wind, ducking and darting around the bear's wild swings with the grace of a dancer.  Dodging each attack from the bear's massive claws, he brought his blade to the bear, carving bloody swaths in the bear's hide.

As the bear staggered from the force of its wounds, the man seized his chance. With a mighty leap, he soared through the air, his sword angled downward like a lethal arrow. The bear let out a thunderous roar, but it was too late to defend itself against the man's deathblow.

The blade plunged into the bear's skull with a sickening crunch, sinking deep into the creature's brain. The bear's body twitched once, twice, and then fell still, collapsing in a heap of fur and muscle.

With a silent elegance, the man touches down on the ground, his landing as light as a feather despite the violence of the combat. Blood spatters his body, but his face remains impassive, his eyes cold and dispassionate as he surveys the battlefield.

His sword, still dripping with the bear's blood, hangs loosely at his side, a silent monument to his deadly skill. He stands alone amid the wreckage of the battle, a lone figure of deadly grace and savagery.

He slowly scans around the floor of the mountain causing him to see the corpse of the giant serpent initaku. A soft smile appeared on his face as he slowly walked towards the infant. '' No wonder that beast wanted my head I guess I interrupted the dinner he fought for '' he said while letting out a burst of soft laughter as he gently raised the child and waddled the cloth around the child to keep him warm from the cold breeze of the night.

''I guess you were also abandoned here by your parents, well abandonment is no stranger to me too'' he said as he placed the child back on the floor.

'' This is where I say my goodbye little, if fate might have it you might get to see another day'' he said as he slowly turned his back in an attempt to leave but as he made his way away from the child, he heard voices from a distance '' he must have passed this route let spread out'' said of the voices'

'' ….. No! No! No! Is there no stopping to this misery ?'' he said as he fell to his knees, frustration drowned his heart like that of an overfilled glass of wine. He turned to the infant, and with pity and compassion in his eyes, he carried the baby as he staggered away in an attempt to avoid the impending danger that was falling upon him.
