"Now that's unexpected," Gabriel said as they pulled away from the kiss.
Eveline swallowed, trying to calm her breathing, while Gabriel continued to stare at her flushed face, his hand securely wrapped around her waist.
"I needed this to distract myself," she finally said, carefully lifting her head to meet his gaze.
"Don't get me wrong for kissing you out of nowhere," she reasoned, hoping he didn't misinterpret her remarks.
"You don't have to explain Eve. You can kiss me as much as you want if it helps you feel better. But never keep it to yourself, as I cleared it before." Gabriel caressed her face, and she slowly sank into his touch and closed her eyes.
Gabriel never wanted Eveline to feel alone, and the small things he did for her seemed insignificant in comparison to her acceptance of him in her life.
"So, what brought you here?" he said. She returned his gaze. She immediately placed her arms around him for an embrace.
