Eveline eventually awoke after a lengthy sleep. She was shocked to discover that the sun had already set and that they were no longer outside the hospital, but somewhere else.
As she proceeded to take in her surroundings, she realized she had been sleeping on Gabriel's lap rather than the seat itself.
"You are awake?" A sturdy voice wafted across her hair, and she gently lifted her up with a little nod.
"Why didn't you keep me down? Your legs must have gone numb," she remarked, about to leave his lap, but he swiftly tightened his grip around her waist, preventing her.
Eveline looked at him with amazement.
"I wouldn't mind holding you like this in my arms. It's an honor, you know." His remarks were nice but heartwarming, and they made her smile slightly.
"Gabriel I-"
